Fantasy Football Fixtures

The first FPL article of the week that looks forward to the up and coming gameweek is the Fantasy Football Fixtures article, where we sort through which Premier League clubs have the easiest and hardest looking fantasy premier league fixtures for the short-term and thus enable managers to construct their FPL squads and think over transfers accordingly.

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 23

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 23 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 23. You’ll have to forgive me if my first shot at fixtures turns out a little bit out of sorts. After questioning whether our investment in this early DGW I caved and invested a -8 in Ogbonna and Eriksen. I got knocked out of the Cup by a Son goal that salvaged a point for my beloved Spurs. I don’t know what to think… While every point in the league is important I think I would have taken the Ogbonna CS and given my self something to continue playing this miserable game for. As it is, I saw all red arrows and am wallowing outside of the top 600k, with very little to play for as I got beat by my wife in my family head-to-head league… again… So, why would you bother to read on then? Good quest...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Festive Fixture Analysis Gameweek 19

Fantasy Football Festive Fixture Analysis Gameweek 19 Welcome to Fantasy Football Festive Fixture Analysis Gameweek 19. ‘Tis the season to be… *rotated, Fa la la la la la la la la! We jest, sort of. Just as most sensible and forward thinking nations (Spain & Germany spring to mind) look at logging off for a few weeks to recharge their batteries, we decide to flog our players to near exhaustion. Before sending them off to the usual abject World Cup failure in the summer. On the plus side they all get two weeks off before the tournament itself ends so that they can put their feet up and watch the inevitable Spain vs Germany final. Funny, that. GW19 begins on Friday and then sees no less than 4 game-weeks somehow span 14 days, with at least 1 game on 11 of the said 14 days. Ar...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 16

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 16 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 16. And sort of GW17 too. And sort of GW18 also! The reason we say this is because there is another midweek feast of games coming up straight after GW16. We may only just be into December but the silly season is clearly in full swing already. And to prove it here is your fun fact of the day: between GW16 beginning this Saturday and GW22 ending on the 3rd of January there are 26 calendar days. On 17 of those there is a Premier League game occuring. There are only 9 days without one. Rotation, anyone? Just as a bit of housekeeping, before we get into the nuts and bolts of the article itself, we will have your usual full raft of articles this week prior to GW16 kicking off on Saturday – F...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 13

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 13 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 13. Apologies up front, lads, ladies, folk. I’ve included City as my top pick this week. So it matters not if I write this article or if somebody else writes it, the boredom factor of being hit over the head with the blatantly obvious really isn’t the fault of the writer. And here’s the thing, we could go total fantasy hipster on you all and just leave them out of the article – but we’re trying to be respectable around here. And we shall give no safe harbour to hipsters of any kind. If you are reading this and think you might be a hipster yourself, ask yourself this question: does me saying that we don’t tolerate hipsters, fantasy or otherwise, offend you? If it does, you might be a hi...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 12

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 12 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 12. FF247 offered the Fixtures piece to me this week and, after some heated toing and froing and a good deal of unsavoury legal wrangling*, I accepted. I was told to “break it up” and that I had a “blank canvas” to work with. Great, I thought. This is the perfect opportunity to discuss my thoughts on series 2 of Stranger Things, or perhaps this could be the ideal platform for me to divulge my definitive ranking of Mario Kart games. But then I figured that FF247 probably didn’t intend for me to go so wildly off script and that for all intents and purposes, this was a fantasy football site and my approach should still be rooted in that. Plus, I doubt anyone really cares about my musings on Mar...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 11

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 11 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 11. Let me begin by giving you an apology to start the article. I’m sorry I’m not as funny, witty and engaging this week as I’d like to be. I haven’t smiled all that much, and I forget what the sound of my own laugh is at this point. I run through the motions of a typical daily existence I suppose. I eat, I bathe, go to work…rinse and repeat. But the joy isn’t there for me right now, and I think that shows in my writing. And come to think of it, I’m not even angry either. It’s not as if I’d suddenly explode into rage with the slightest provocation. There is just an empty feeling. A void. How else do you expect an Everton fan to feel at this point? I honestly couldn’t be more emo right ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 10

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 10 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 10. I’ve had a couple of bizarre experiences writing here on this site during my tenure. Some of you will remember the DayQuil incident from a season ago – I think I singlehandedly wrote more about the MLS in two hours than the entirety of their pool of staff wrote about their league all week. And before that, I had those growing pains in trying to learn the nonsensical nature of writing proper English (essentially, if you think you should add a ‘u’ to a word, just add the ‘u’ to be safe). And there was also a time when I used a double space between each of my sentences (American standard) – and it still makes me laugh imagining the editors going over my entire article each week ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis and Player Tips Gameweek 9

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis and Player Tips Gameweek 9 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 9. This is a bit of a strange week we have in store; not only do we have to navigate around the CL schedule, we also have to plan ahead for a Friday kick-off between West Ham and Brighton (only the best matches for Fridays, eh?). And due to this double dose of awesomeness, we here at HQ have decided to combine a couple of our feature articles this week to make sure that we have enough time for you all to properly plot your teams accordingly. So with that in mind, this article will feature Fixtures (by me) and Tips (by Cookie) side by side. Or maybe ‘side by side’ isn’t the best way to put it, it’s more of a top/bottom kind of effect. So I’ll give my picks on the Fixtures, and ...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 8

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 8 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 8. Bit of a different take this week and it’s driven by what I’ve seen so far this season in terms of FPL. We usually use this article to simply lay out which 3 or 4 teams have the best fixtures over the next few weeks. And which ones don’t. Which is grand, and usually works. There’s a trend going on that I’ve noticed though and it is that the top teams are hammering everyone else! Ok, so not every single time, but probably more often than not. So do you want me to come on here and tell you which of Bournemouth or Brighton have the better fixtures over the next 3 weeks? I could, but what’s the point? At this stage all eyes (and transfers) are on that ‘...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 7

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 7 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 7. Well folks, I did it. I actually scored higher than the average. It only took me six rounds to get my act together, but I followed my own advice (finally) and just loaded up on the smart plays instead of trying to think outside the box. That’s just a polite way of telling you all that I’m really kind of stupid, and sometimes I try to overcompensate for my condition with some risky plays. But when that doesn’t work, I revert back to my natural state and just play some Route One fantasy football. In short, I capped Aguero against a bad team and earned big points. And believe me, you don’t have to be much of a genius to figure out that was a decent play. In keeping with the theme of staying i...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 6

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 6 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 6. It was pointed out to me last week that I have a habit of answering questions that I pose to myself. Do I care? I do not. I’m just kidding – I promise you will not find me answering my own questions in the meaty part of the article this week. And it’s not because I feel that I shouldn’t be answering my own questions – I just feel that given my performance thus far this season, those answers I provide would probably be wrong. This game is breaking me this season, and it’s making me question everything I know about being an analyst and sports fan in general. This past week, after point hit adjustment, I scored 57 points. That was as close as I’ve come to hitting the average score...[Read More]

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 5

Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 5 Welcome to Fantasy Football Fixture Analysis Gameweek 5. First of all, thanks to Adam for writing the article in my stead last week, the break was much appreciated. Though the couch that was covered in fried chicken wasn’t mine – anybody who’s seen a picture of me knows that it’s highly unlikely that I would be so wasteful with fried chicken. Although, if I was taking too much DayQuil again… there’s no telling how I left that office when Adam took over. Actually, now that the lads at HQ have undoubtedly seen my score from this past round, I’m surprised that they’ve even let me come back at all. For those of you that don’t have ready access to my team, you should know that I wildcarded last week, and I ended up on a grand total of 26 points...[Read More]
