Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 11 article. If we said that six of our team all scored 3 points or less this week then you’d maybe expect that this would then lead onto a story of sorrow and despair. It just goes to show what having a minority of decent performers can actually produce though as we managed a fairly respectable 79 with a load of hallowed green arrows in all the right places. Cech, Walker, Pieters, Sterling, Capoue and Deeney are the players doing the walk of shame. Holebas, Firmino, Sanchez, Aguero and Lukaku can all hold their heads high, if they can shoulder the weight of our team. They carried us through to a small rise in the rankings from 57k to 39k. It’s not ground breaking but at this stage it’s acceptable. We do have a small confession to make this week though…! We voted for, and subsequently published, that we would captain Deeney last week. That was our intention, albeit a bad one, with the benefit of hindsight. Fortunately, as such… we didn’t actually captain him, we inadvertently captained Sanchez. We didn’t actually notice the faux-pas until we checked the score on Saturday evening. It was a net gain of just 11 points but that probably represented a good few thousand places in the rankings. We did the transfers but we just failed to confirm the final team. It happens to the best of us. And we’re delighted to say it happened to us this week!

Transfer #1: Capoue to Gundongan
We had a transfer saved in the bank this week and we felt it was a good opportunity to fix a couple of issues so we unleashed both.

We rarely make an early transfer but we did this one on Tuesday as he was going up in price and he was also clearly on fire! Given his form allied to City’s fixtures and his bargain price this one was a no-brainer for us. When he was signed it was expected he would be just another cheap DM with little or no FPL value, and his price reflected that, but he’s proven to be a box to box midfielder with goals in his locker. Think Yaya Toure about 3 years ago, but about 4 stone lighter, an actual work ethic and an agent who isn’t a w@nker.

Transfer #2: Deeney to Austin
This is what happens when you don’t score 3 against Hull, we just sell you. Let that be a warning to you Mr Austin! We hope it’s one he heeds as he’s ours now, or at least he is until he either fails or another ‘3rd’ forward presents themselves with either better fixtures or better form. Hull may have finally put a resistance last week but this one still makes sense all round, especially given that it’s for free.

THE NEW TEAM IN FULL FOR Gameweek 11!

Our captain is (possibly smile ) Sergio Aguero and our vice captain is Charlie Austin
Unanimous. That probably says it all. As a bonus treat we even double checked that we saved it this week…

If anyone is interested in following the site teams progress then you can do so here and we wish you all the best of luck this week with your own teams.

    Hello all

    1FT 0.1 ITB

Full disclosure – I am thinking of taking an 8 point hit this week as I want to get my team in order long term, before the values all change to the point that I can no longer afford this team (and also don’t want to sell players that I bought cheaply that have since risen as this further loses me ££!)! (Also, I can see most of my -4 transfers in, repaying at least some of the -4…) Is this crazy logic?

    I propose either:
Firminho to KdB (I know Firminho has good fixtures, but I love KdB)
Lukaku to Austin or Musa (to free up cash for Firminho and Capoue upgrades)
Capoue to Gundogan (if I go for Austin) or Allen/Matic (if I go for Musa)

What is the best combo of Austin and Gundogan vs. Musa and Allen/Matic?

    Many thanks!

As phonek says on next comment, it is dangerous to take such massive hits before an international break… Many injuries can happen and deprive you of exploiting the great team you would have built.
I would wait one more GW, especially since none of the move you mention sound urgent. Lukaku to Austin only this week?

To answer your specific quesiton, I would personnaly prefer Gundogan and Austin. And Allen to Matic in the other scenario.

    Hi,

First time ive posted on this forum but have enjoyed using it over the past few weeks. Would anyone make any changes to my team this week. All transfer made and ive taken an 8 point hit by transferring out lukaku, payet and deeney for Aguero, Redmond and Defoe. Took the hit now to try and get Aguero for the decent fixtures coming up starting with Mid at home.

    Thanks in advance.

Firstly, welcome to the site Saloba.
An 8 point hit is a big one right before an international break but it’s done now so not much you can do.
Your team looks pretty set for the next gw, not sure on the fitness of Smalling tho.
Lets hope Aguero pays you back instantly with goals.

Thanks Photek, it is a big hit but hoping aguero captain will pay off and would have been at least 4 to get aguero in. looking to transfer smailling for WBA def next game week.
For gw 13 was thinking mahrez and barrow in for Redmond and defoe but I know you cant look too far ahead. I think Mahrez will start picking up so point given Leicester’s run of games and now that they have qualified for last 16 in UCL. hopefully no injury during Int break but doubtful coutinho will play.

would any suggest captaining coutinho instead of Aguero given Countinho will be fresher and Watford have defensive injuries?

Did you bought Austin with minus 4 hit or 2 free transfers
I am thinking to buy him or wilson over deeny with minus 4
    Does it worth?
Southampton tired from inter match ?

    • 30.1

      HI mahelmy,

Taking Deeney out for either Wilson or Austin is a hit I would consider if it were me. I think I would go for Wilson personally.

Deeney looks well away from any points just now and Wilson has Sunderland and is at home.

      Hi Mahelmy,

I’d agree with GP. In fact I did take Deeney out for a hit and got Austin.

If your question is related to the site team, no we didn’t take a hit.

      • mahelmy says:

        Thanks
But he should score twice at leaset to take the benfit of minus 4 hit especially that i have pickford gk against wilson
Also coming 3 matches for him stoke arsenal Liverpool and he was subed 59 last time

Hi mahelmy, in answer to your initial question we had 2 FT’s so it wasn’t a hard one to decide really –

      “Transfer #1: Capoue to Gundongan
We had a transfer saved in the bank this week and we felt it was a good opportunity to fix a couple of issues so we unleashed both.”

As to whether to do it for a hit I think that’s up to you, it’s a gamble. I did it on mine – Deeney to Austin that is.
