Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 15

Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 15After last week’s backing by the board, the team committee felt confident that they would be given time to straighten out this mess, in particular because the same members of the team committee also form the board. Having said that, we are proud to announce that we (the board) have given a pay rise to the team committee members as a sign of good faith. Moving on to the other business at hand, we managed another red arrow, no surprise there I guess. Chelsea players nowadays try harder than some of our committee members! We scored 60 points and after a four point hit, we totaled 56, which was only a measly 5 points more than the average for the game-week. We only dropped 30k in the overall, which was a bit surprising, but we will take it, because these days a small drop is a win.

GW14 in summary
This past game-week is best appreciated by people who get hoodwinked. That was our case when we went all happy and took only our second hit of the season. We paid -4 to acquire the services of Hennessey and Aguero and they brought us a total of 4 points and a yellow flag. If we had made no transfers, we would have scored 5 points and saved the hit. Just think, we almost sold KDB before his 16 point haul this week, that would have been depressing. In GW14, Lukaku and Vardy did the deed, Deulofeu got some, KDB went crazy, crazy and Kolarov contributed with a goal. In contrast, Mahrez was disappointing, Naughton was his average self and van Dijk was up against City, so no surprise there. Sanchez our captain got an assist and finally proved Wenger right and wrong all in one. Wenger was right that with the wear and tear Alexis could get injured and wrong because he still played him. Of course we captained him, because that’s what we do. Oh well, at least we got the assist. Wait…are we just like Wenger?

Transfer(s) for GW15 Sold Sanchez and Aguero for Hazard and Kane
(Add some transfer reasoning that undoubtedly will backfire)*

*That was the ‘filler’ line left by someone (Mito) after setting up the article in advance of us writing it. We thought it was very fitting, summed up our season and almost certainly this weeks choices!

Let’s deal with this in in two parts as that’s how it happened in real time. Sanchez out was a no-brainer as we knew about it early doors and have no 5th midfielder. We wanted Coutinho. We waited on Coutinho. We were disappointed by Coutinho. He may still play actually but we could’t risk it so we needed a Plan B. Ozil and Firmino were considered and strangely dismissed. In favour of… Hazard. Hazard’s season and form can probably be best summed up by the fact that when we went to transfer him in, after the vote, we had to load the whole midfielders page in order to find him and sure enough there he was clinging to the bottom of it as if his life depended on it! Let’s not pull any punches here – this is a BIG punt based on fixtures alone, nothing more. They have Bournemouth, Sunderland and Watford at home in three of the next four and the away game is free scoring / free conceding Leicester. Here’s hoping, let’s see!

That was meant to be our only decision this week until Aguero was ruled out on Friday. “Just bench him” was the initial and logical reaction. That was until we looked at the rest of our squad and his replacements within it! We’d had a hard enough time deciding between playing either Naughton or Morgan already so the thought of having to play both terrified us enough to consider replacing Aguero! And so we did, with Kane. Again this was possibly second choice to Liverpool in that Sturridge was preferable if only we knew he would play, which we didn’t, and he possibly won’t. We didn’t really want to lose Kun given next weeks tasty home game against Swansea but possibly what swung it was that Kane actually has an equally tasty one against Newcastle. Plus of course the fact that the guy isn’t made of glass so should actually make both games, intact.

Team Selection
(Some mumbo jumbo on why we picked those 11)*

*Just more musings from Mito pre-article which we thought may make you smile!

The only decision to make was that Naughton vs Morgan ‘battle’. We went with Morgan. There’s nothing to back that up really other than to say that Leicester are far better than Swansea but at the same time are just as likely to concede!

Captain – Romelu Lukaku
A close call this and he was ran so by both Hazard and Kane but ultimately the lure of a traditionally high scoring game, Everton’s great ‘Monday Night Football’ record and his current form all combined to swing it in his direction.

Our vice-captain is Harry Kane
Should something happen to Romelu between now and Monday we will be happy enough to go with another man in form in the shape of Harry Kane.

    Who to cap?

Ozil, KdB, Hazard, Lukaku? Last time around Lukaku killed me on Monday night with a brace. sad

I just know Monday will suck. Currently I am on Hazard, feel and hope he will come good.

Last minute advice, don’t cap and vice cap players from the same game.

With high winds there’s a small chance of a game being called off.
