Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 16

fantasy football tips There are so many words that could be used to describe this game-week and in particular our boo-boo behind the scenes when getting our team ready. However instead of sitting here and making a bunch of excuses, all we will say is that a mistake happened and we are moving on and hoping that we are able to reverse this season. There comes a time when a committee must put their collective foot down and say “enough is enough!” And they did. They all resigned! Suffice to say we won’t let them get away that easily and so they were all reinstated with immediate effect!

Well at least until the game-week starts and stuff starts going tits up again. Anyways we scored 50, which comes out to 46 after the hit is deducted. That would and should have been about 11 points more had we actually fielded the team we intended and captained the player we intended. Instead we somehow screwed it all up and evidently, somehow, didn’t press positive on ‘Confirm Your Team’.  This lead us to fielding last weeks team essentially, with the wrong captain and none of the team changes we poured over and proposed. This may have lead to the resignations and would normally lead to sackings anyway but we identified the culprit and decided that all things considered we may never see another article if we made an issue of it! The average was 51 and this of course led to another red arrow. We have now entered the one million club, which is about where we deserve to be.

GW15 in summary
We think GW15 could somewhat be summarized by the transfers we made. We knew it would be a gamble to bring in Hazard, but considering how our season was going we needed a jolt of adrenaline. And as has been the case for most of this season, our transfer brought on the complete opposite, as most of us were left wondering why we even bothered with him. The safe choice Ozil, might have been the way to go, but how fun would that be? Probably a lot more! Our other transfer was Harry Kane. He managed to underperform Hazard, which was hard to do. Basically we took a 4 point hit to bring in 2 guys who got us 3 points. The story of our season. Only players who stood our for us were Mahrez, Lukaku and Vardy, but those are not differentials so they don’t provide a ton of help.

Transfer for GW16 – Sold Oxford for Moreno

It was suggested that we bank our transfer this week so as that we’d have 2FT’s next which would allow us to set up for the busy festive period. It was however decided that we would begin that preparation this week and so it was decided to replace Oxford who has spent his entire time with us sat warming the bench. The decision to replace him with Moreno was unanimous, in fact we didn’t even discuss any other options. Hmmm…maybe that’s why we’re currently ranked outside of the top 1mln! Why Moreno? Primarily for his attacking exploits. While he has yet to register any attacking returns this season he has shown a willingness to get forward particularly since Klopp has taken charge. Had it not been for an incorrect offside decision against Newcastle last Sunday the Spaniard would have had his first goal of the season. Liverpool have kept just two clean sheets in the seven games since Klopp has taken charge although they have shown signs of improvement at the back. Aside from the visit of Leicester in GW18 they have a number of games over the coming weeks from which we would hope they will pick up a couple of clean sheets. Whatever Moreno does in the coming weeks he will surely score more points than Oxford!!

Team Selection
Only having one playing keeper takes that decision out of our hands. The addition of Moreno now means we have five defenders to choose from and the Spaniard debuts for us this weekend alongside Kolarov & van Dijk. Further up the pitch and Ashley Westwood takes his customary spot on the bench.

Captain – Harry Kane
Picking a captain this week proved to be a relatively straightforward task and the decision to go with Kane was a unanimous decision. Having blanked in his last two games we’re backing him to find the net against the Geordies who despite their win over Liverpool last Sunday remain one of the leagues poorest teams having conceded 18 away from home.

Our vice-captain is Kevin De Bruyne
Should Kane fail to take to the pitch on Sunday we will be more than happy for KDB to take possession of the armband.
