Fantasy Football FF247 Team Game-week 9

Screen Shot 2015-10-16 at 15.02.28Goodbye 2 million ranking, hope to never see you again! As anyone who has ever followed the team intro knows, no one has been more positive about the site team turning it around than the narrator of this. It was only a matter of time before we started climbing the rankings, was probably said countless times in the opening paragraph over the last several weeks. So how many spots did we jump? 1.6 million spots in the overall, which took us to 600K. No need to pat us on the back though, as we patted each other so much in the committee meeting that we need to ice down our backs. Well let us tell you, our adoring public, how we managed the monster haul that allowed us to jump to less embarrassing waters.

In goal we had Boaz Myhill who will need to start getting some clean sheets if he wants to continue to hold a spot down with us. Luckily the fixtures turn better and he will have a stay of execution for now.

In defence we showed great cohesion. As all our players scored 2 points. Considering the three names Kolarov, Francis and Morgan, one can only assume that the Leicester defender played the opposing striker on and that is how we lost our clean sheet across the board. By the way, it probably hasn’t been mentioned more than 10 times, but who in the world suggested a Leicester defender on the committee? FFS!

Moving to our midfield, a thing of beauty. KDB (The official Ginger of FF247) once again delivered the goods. A 15 point haul by our very pale pal was enough to even make Kop crack a tiny grin. De Bruyne wasn’t the only one putting on a great display though, as the Chilean Sanchez dialed up another massive haul with 16 big ones. Not wanting to be left out of the double digit club, Payet (The official Frog of FF247) scored 10 points also. Topping off our midfield maestros we had Westwood drive it home with a one pointer. To be fair 1-2 points is all Ashley is there for. We blame the one pointer on Raineri who decided to sit Mahrez.

New signing Jamie Vardy kicked off his stint with the FF24 team in style. Our new signing grabbed 9 points on his debut which is two more than Gomis has scored in 4 weeks on the team. We really have a bone to pick with our clawless, toothless panther about his output. Last, but certainly not least we had Aguero. He did ok we think, scoring 25 points and when doubled nabbing us 50pts. Finally our faith paid off after weeks of disappointment with Aguero. Looks like Kun restored normal service all in one week to boot. Huge points followed up by an injury.

Transfer(s) for GW7 – Sold Ssergio Aguero, Bought Graziano Pelle

The transfer meeting was short and sweet this week. We were always going to sell Aguero, the only decision was who should replace him, with Pelle comfortably winning the vote. Having looked back on the minutes from the meeting, there was a vote for Costa although this would appear to have been ignored. Clearly Kun leaves our team on a high as he propelled us to the lofty heights of the top 600k. We have high hopes for his replacement. Pelle has been in scintillating form of late with three goals & four assists in his last three games, and his partnership with Sadio Mane just gets better and better. Southampton have a couple of great home fixtures coming up and we fully expect the Italian to repay the faith we have shown in him.

Our team in full…

Team Selection

Despite conceding five goals in his last two games Boaz Myhill once again gets the nod in goal, although with a home game against Sunderland we expect a clean sheet this week. We should point out that we have no choice but play Myhill now that McCarthy has lost his spot at Palace.

In defence we are starting Kyle Naughton despite being flagged as he was only missing due to personal reasons and is expected back for this one. Joining him is Leicester’s Wes Morgan and if he gets more than 1 point we’ll call that a victory. Which brings us nicely onto Simon Francis. You can just ditto the above and replace the 1 with a -1. To be fair to Simon he only got a late call-up because of the Kolarov news.

The midfield & forward line once more picks itself with Ashley Westwood warming the bench, hopefully Mahrez features for Leicester this week as Westwood proved in GW8 that he’s good for nothing.

Captain
Our captain this week is Kevin De Bruyne

Just like our decision to transfer out Aguero our decision to give De Bruyne the armband is unlikely to come as a surprise to many. The Belgian is already an integral part of the City team and in the absence of Aguero & Silva he is now the key man for City. Having claimed three goals and two assists in his last three games we have high hopes for the ginger.

Our vice-captain is Graziano Pelle

Okay, had to fix my defense. I went with Virgil van Dijk and not Bellerin/Azpi/Bertrand. DANGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HAHAHA. We’ll see. smile

Him taking free kicks, his 0.8 shots on goal (for a defender) and well his heading is on par. smile

Van Dijk to make it 3-1 today. No goals Pelle. smile
