Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 30 – Fantasy Premier League 2014/15

140304130146-michael-owen-bt-sport-horizontal-galleryGW30 is live! Ahhh, a lunch time game to get us going. Vinny welcomes in Gareth McAuley and the Baggies where he hopes to get some tips on how to defend properly from the Irishman. That is followed up by 5 games with a three o’clock start time. Swansea visit Villa and their all of a sudden high scoring side. Sherwood has managed to inspire and lead his men to goals in 3 of their last 4. Sounds like Manager of the Season material to me. The Newcastle French contingent watch their messiah Wenger come in to probably bless them with another defeat. Burnley will be feeling up for a go at Saints after beating City and restoring hope that they can yet crawl out of the bottom 3. In other action Spurs will be looking to rebound against Leicester after being the first team to be outsmarted by tactical genius LVG this season. Speaking of genius managers, Pardew takes his Palace side for a visit to the Britannia for a mostly fantasy irrelevant game. The Hammers look to get back on track against a reeling Sunderland squad, unfortunately for them the firing of Poyet could well mean that the Black Cats might come in prepared.

Sunday sees off the game-week with the last 3 fixtures. The lead game is a cracker of a game, as Liverpool welcome pugilist Wayne Rooney and his Manchester corner-men. After that bout ends we get the chance to witness CFC looking to skin a cat at KC Stadium. If they somehow can’t, I am sure Jose will blame the referee for handing them a dull knife or something. We close our GW with Charlie Austin continuing to try and impress current and future Premier League teams in 2015/2016 that his services can be used. Should be easy going for him as Everton are now due a streak of several losses if their record since November is any indication.

Don’t forget to also share any experiences if you are participating in any or several of the woofbet.com leagues. Remember scores update in real time, so keep up us up to date on how you are fairing.

Wish I had captained Kane instead of Aguero!

Guys: Gabby or Austin for the upcoming DGW? Any words of wisdom will be most welcome. Cheers

Who are you taking out for Austin/Gabby? Only ask as the answer could be neither of them! smile

      inittowinit says:

Hi Punk, I can’t honestly see Villa getting much at United in the first game. I’d go Austin out of the pair of them but it’s a tough call as to whether it’s worth sacrificing either Sturridge or Aguero. Guess it depends on your views on Aguero, I know a lot will be cutting loose now and it’s understandable but he can still go mad in any given game. If you’re looking at Costa for GW34 anyway it could be an opportunity to go Kun to Austin to Costa?

      • PunkDragon says:

Thanks guys: I’m still thinking Aston Villa may have a go at it since theyre so close to the relegation zone. But you’re right, it’s difficult to see them get anything against United especially after they tore Liverpool a new one today. @B-bash I was set on getting rid of Aguero but now I am getting second thoughts. @Inittowinit I was thinking exactly as you are Aguero – Austin/Gabby – Costa, but this Argentinian is so unpredictable especially towards the end of the season. Thanks very much guys, a lot of fat to chew this next two weeks. Try to have a happy Monday 😉

Austin he has the better fixtures

      Raziel says:

Already have Austin in my team. He usually deliver an assist or something. Plus he’s on penalty’s. So if I had to choose I’d pick him. It’s a hard one though, if you still have to get one.

      NIN says:

PunkDragon – I don’t think this DGW will be all that different, totals wise, than normal GW’s, but definitely Austin ahead of Agbonlahor. He’ll probably be my (c) but i do have the fear that more than one SGW player will outscore him. Namely Kane and Aguero.

Capped the right person and still dropped 500 places. *sighs*

Nothing seems to work out. FPL Jesus stopped talking to me. sad

This is my team for GW31. Have 2 FT’s. Watcha guys reckon I should do?

      ChrisOllie25 says:

Team looks great, maybe i would change the reserve GK and upgrade Wisdom to Dawson!

      • Raziel says:

Tnx mate. Yeah. Watcha think of Cap choice? Austin can be risky. Sighs. Still, 180 minutes. sad

Good looking team cost me 5k places the past few weeks. Just barely in the top 10k. sad

      Raziel says:

This is the whole freaking problem. Not only Jesus but the entire FF247 has stopped talking to me.

      inittowinit says:

What are you thinking Raz? Another DGW player? Can’t say I’m fussed on any outside of the one you have already. Maybe a cheapie like Phillips for JWP and play him ahead of Erik? Other than that I would go with what you have as it’s well set up and in all honesty other than the fact you’d lose a FT I probably wouldn’t have even suggested the above.

      • Raziel says:

I know. YOu think Ivanhooooooo could lose his place after his terrible performance today? He made the 2 biggest mistakes leading to the 2 goals. Or will Mourinho still play him? Want to get rid of either Terry or Iva for Chelsea’s DGW in GW 34. Might get Fabregas or Costa (depending). Was thinking one of those defenders to Bertrand/Alder and Austin to Costa, after that Costa to Giroud (for GW37). Hmmm. Still don’t rate Costa, to be honest. Kun > Costa and was very unlucky. So against the transfer trends, I’m keeping Kun and Sanchez. Losing money. sad

        • inittowinit says:

Don’t think he’ll lose his place based on that but for you, strategically, that makes sense to lose him and if you are doing so then a Southampton defender is definitely the best call. Bertie or Clyne I’d say. Toby is your cheap option but for a reason, he doesn’t get the assists or attract the bonus points that the other 2 do.

        • Raziel says:

Chelsea have Stoke at Home next though. Still, they do sort of suck since Xmas. I mean, they are in really poor form if you ask me. Only Hazard and Courtois are good.

        • Raziel says:

I always have bad luck with Chelsea defenders. Next time I get one, I must keep him the entire season. *sighs*

Soton were hella lucky to keep a CS by the way. >.<

        • NIN says:

Definitely wont drop Ivanovic. I’d go as far as to say there’s 0% chance of that happening. He’s class.

      Raziel says:

Hmmm, hope they update my name soonish. I GOT THIS ONE!~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anyway, good night guys. Early long day ahead. Oyasumi Nasai. Welterusten. smile

    • 111.6
      NIN says:

Raz – I think it’s either sell Sanchez, or do nothing at all. I’ve pretty much made up mind to sell Sanchez for next GW. Aguero has been similarly disappointing recently, but at least he’s playing well. Sanchez looks burned out to me.

      • Wafflez says:

God thing that there are two weeks to decide what to do ?

        • NIN says:

I’d rather get rid of him ASAP! Will have to wait though, due to the break.

        • Wafflez says:

Yeah i got rid of him several weeks ago, my dilemma is. Get some more funds to do Austin – Costa after the dgw or just keep Austin and maybe get Giroud after his blank gw. And get some other Chelsea player for their dgw (got Terry and Hazard already)

        • NIN says:

My thoughts exactly, Wafflez. All depends on Costa’s injury i suppose.

      • DMC says:

Have both Sanchez and Aguero. Aguero situation worries me a bit because of Bony. He is the one playing up front, with Aguero wondering around. Sanchez worries me for his inconsistency and early subbing. These guys represent almost 25% of the initial budget but are faring 5% of our weekly normal total…that will probably change, but can we ML chasers wait for them?

        • NIN says:

DMC – I’m not even considering selling Aguero. He has hit the post/crossbar a few times recently and could very easily have had monster hauls in a few games. He’s playing well so i’m not worried there. Sanchez, on the other hand, looks out of form and also seems burned out to me, which is why i’m selling him. The blank week ahead is in mind too.

        • inittowinit says:

I’ll probably stick with Aguero until Chelsea’s DGW and see what the Costa situation looks like ahead of that. Sanchez is gone this week though for the same reasons NIN. Should have just done it this week as it’s for Hazard and I’ve no idea why I didn’t now! Guess 2 FT’s looked handy with the big break ahead and a DGW but we had the same scenario with the site team and just burned it on Haz this week which was the correct call. The DGW looks poor to me, Austin aside.

        • NIN says:

I’d rather not sell Aguero at all. Sanchez -> Mane raises enough for Austin -> Costa, for me anyway. Having said that, i’d like to have Mata for the Villa game next GW. Could well be a pasting there, judging by our recent performances.

        • NIN says:

init – You thinking of Austin (c) next GW? Seems pretty obvious with the DGW and all, but Kane still seems the best pick to me. The kid is on fire.

        • inittowinit says:

Hi NIN, I’ll have to mull over that one. The appeal is obvious but quite frankly QPR are rubbish on the road and both games are away.

        • NIN says:

Agreed. I think i might stick with Kane/Hazard/Aguero trio. Any of those appeals more, the more i think it over.

        • DMC says:

Well, I’m not watching full BPL games, which obviously helps, but he still seems capable of scoring at any time. Just maybe not twice in each game has he did earlier in the season. My prob with him is that he is my differential and I can’t see who to get in for him that will be reliable at this point. Maybe Mata? Yeah, but will he be nailed on after his next goal-assistless game? Difficult to say. The Chile games occur on 26th and 29th which is not that bad if you consider that they are scheduled to Austria and London, respectively, so that gives him a 1 week rest before the pool clash. I guess I will monitor that before going with any Sanchez-»Sinclar DGW move or so smile

    makeya says:

Ah dam you aguero! You’ll be the death of me.
I have a power move in mind. I am .1mil off swapping Azpil to Ivan. So I was thinking sterling to mata and Azpil to Ivan. I could just play it safe with Azpil to terry though. Thoughts?

    • 112.2
      NIN says:

Morning folks. Yep, have to agree with Cookie here. Pretty pointless hit. Especially when there are doubts over Costa. Jose has said he’ll likely miss one game at least. I’d also have Dawson and Clyne in there ahead of Jags and Monreal.

  5. 113
    Raziel says:

Hmmm, instead of bringing in Costa am I crazy to consider Fabregas for that GW? Than I’ll have Fabs/Haz/Ivan(or Terry).

    • 113.1
      Raziel says:

I know he’s out of form but he can only get better right? Plus the 2 week break might do him good?

    • 113.2
      NIN says:

Costa might be injured, so no. If he’s fit, though, then i’d buy him ahead of Fabreags for sure. Cesc has been unusually quiet recently.

      • Raziel says:

Not just that, he has been freaking poor. Still, Mourinho played him always. He also went down another 0.1m last night. He’s just 9.2m now. 😉

        • NIN says:

Great price for him, if he finds form again.

        • NIN says:

That’s very interesting, Cookie. I’ll definitely keep that one in mind for next season! Start with him, then bin him with the winter WC.

        • NIN says:

Wow. Just been working this out. I started this season with Cesc and not Hazard. Starting with both, knowing to sell Cesc mid-late January would have been roughly 100 points better off than having Cesc and moving him out for Hazard. Those points would have me top 50 in the world. Man… i’m bookmarking the shit out of that article so i don’t forget!!

        • NIN says:

Yeah, i try not to do it but thought i’d have a look and see with the Cesc situation as those stats are very interesting. Those who started with Cesc and Hazard were onto a winner. Big time.

Nice scoring this week, by the way. Glad to see Costa came through for you, although a shame he had to come off early. Another goal/assist would have been great.

        • Kop Warrior says:

My GW1 team probably wasn’t much worse than my current shambles!!

        • DMC says:

I here you NIN and Cookie. I started with Fab, which was great (6.6 per game on first 5GW), but it wasn’t until I added Haz (on GW5) that I started to go up the ranks notably reaching #4413 on GW 12 when combined these two gave me 20 pts. on the day and 90 since playing together for me.

I reckoned he would come back against those strong “second half” stats in the run in but the two match ban situation will certainly upset those plans…a shame really, when in form Fab-Haz-Costa could win it for FPL maganers.

        • NIN says:

Kop – You’ve got yourself a good team there mate. A new defender would go down a treat, though.

DMC – Indeed. I never had both at the same time. By the look of these stats, having both and then binning Cesc mid-late Jan looks to be the way to go, for maximum point/value gains. Noted 😉

        • NIN says:

Nice one, Cookster. You can do it!! I’m offloading Alexis for next GW. Really considering Mata. Villa (h) is surely a great fixture to attack, given United’s two great performances against Spurs and Liverpool. Who’d have thought we’d come out of those games 5-1 to the good? Not bloody me anyway!!

        • Kop Warrior says:

I’m just having a moan NIN!! smile

No matter what I do the leader in my money league does better :hippo:

        • PunkDragon says:

@KopWarrior: Keep the faith man; at GW28 my mini-league leader had a 70+ point lead on me; now @ GW31 he’s about 39 points more … and I am going to close him down.

        • Raziel says:

Stop complaining Cookster, you got Puncheon. 😉

        • NIN says:

Keep plugging away, Kop. Still plenty of time to pull back most leads, unless they’re huge. I’ve got a 99 point lead in main cash league. Wrapped up smile

Cookie – Reckon it’s the system change that now suits them more? Either way, i agree. Herrera was smashing in the early part of the season and Mata’s skills are proven. Maybe Juan could be the ultimate differential in FPL. 0% of top 1k have him.

    • 113.3
      PunkDragon says:

Fabregas on 9 yellow cards; one more in GW31 or god forbid GW32 and he’ll miss GW33; does the two or three game ban kick in after 10 YCs? Anyway, just something to remember

    • 113.4
      Raziel says:

Tnx for the research on Cesc, so he’s not a must, I guess. 😉

  6. 114
    Raziel says:

Man I hope Kun and Sanchez score a f-ing hatty in the next game. Loyalty these days, sighs. COMMON GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
