Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23. We’ve gone from feast to famine in terms of a hectic Christmas and NY period to the lull of FA Cup weekend. However we return to normality this week – a 3-day gameweek! We kick off with six 3pm matches – Danny Drinkwater gets a chance to show his old employers how far he has come as he watches Chelsea host Leicester. From the bench presumably. Palace welcome Burnley, West Ham go to Huddersfield, basement dwellers Swansea travel to Newcastle, Watford and Saints meet at Vicarage Road and Lord Pardew looks to continue West Brom’s brilliant run as they host Brighton. The evening match sees bus driver Big Sam drive down to Spurs.
Sunday sees two matches – first up is Wilshere’s journey back to his best days as Arsenal go to Bournemouth before the highlight of the gameweek as Raheem is another to make a return as Man City take the short trip across to Liverpool.
Our gameweek concludes with a Monday night special as under fire Mark Hughes continues the themes of returns as he takes his relegation threatened Stoke lot to Man United.

You forget that at his best Torres was sensational. I’m not sure the same can be said of Morata.
He was indeed but I think the point is more Torres when at Chelsea. It is very reminiscent.
True. However Morata has never scored more than 15 in a season which he might still do this season. So perhaps we expect too much.
Thought Morata was a bad signing at the time and he’s looking terrible. Yeah he can head a ball but that’s about it. Don’t think this negative formation helps him

You made the decision mate, not me. However, I don’t know whether it influenced it so here’s a sliding doors question for you and I’ll explain why later – with no response what would you have done? Or what were you intending to do before posting at least.
Hmmm good question, here’s what happened… so all week my intention was to get Lingard, then on Friday I had a few drinks and I decided that I needed Alonso. Didn’t want to do the sideways move from Azpi so decided to double up as a ‘transisituon’. I woke up this morning and though WTF!!! Still wanted Lingard and my thought process was that if one person who’s opinion I respected replied, I would go with that. You were that person so decision made!

Anyway, sliding doors – I was at the kids footy today. And wasn’t supposed to be, or at least I’m not normally but the Mrs stayed away last night so I was at that rather than my own game. And staying away was a last minute decision.
And then at kids footy one of the Mums came over and asked (no, not that, doesn’t get that interesting, you dirty bstrd
) if both our kids would like to go back to theirs after footy for a bit. She wouldn’t have asked my Mrs as she normally just sits in the car out of the cold.
Upshot was that I had a spare couple of hours which I wouldn’t have otherwise had. And so I jumped on site to help do a few RMT things. And there you were. Just about to do a transfer or not and walk out the door to the match. And you still have Arnie. #slidingdoors
By the way, you must have had quite a few drinks as it wasn’t ‘morning’ when you posted it was almost mid afternoon! The life of the man with no kids eh! He says enviously

Not bad at all HL, especially as you have over half a team left. If the remaining ones can emulate the first lot then you’re on for a cracking week. I’m expecting a fair few goals in the Liv / City game and a Utd CS so you may well be.
Did Morata miss many again today then? Had Sky on but only on mute as I was at a kids party so couldn’t really follow that closely.

Totally outplayed by LEI’s high pressing game very high up the pitch.
BAKAYOKO disappeared,Fabregas was never the player who goes back and helps the team when under pressure so it was a surprise Alvaro was cut off !
Kante could not manage all by himself.
LEI dominated the game,especially the 1st half.
CHE has awesome schedule ahead but unfortunately the form is not there.
5games in the next 20days won’t help them.
