Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 37

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Gameweek 37. Another Double Game-week you say? We’ll have some of that! Let’s just hope it’s better than the last one… This one begins on Friday night and goes all the way through until next Thursday. And just for housekeeping purposes you need to be on the ball a bit after that as GW38 begins less than two and a half days later on Sunday afternoon.

‘Live Match Chat’ won’t go all the way through to Thursday though, we shall be interrupting it on about Monday with the first of our usual flow of articles to get you ready for that final day push.

GW37 begins with the first of two games for both Brighton and Man United on Friday night.

Saturday then takes it’s usual shape with both an early and a late game bookending four other matches.

The remaining three games are spread over Sunday and that sees the end of our ‘normal’ ten games.

The ‘double’ bit of DGW37 begins on Tuesday with a huge relegation showdown as Cheerful Carlos entertains Horrible Hughes.

Wednesday sees the bulk of the doubles with four games before we finally close out on Thursday with West Ham hosting Man United.

I did exactly the same Eresh. Just to add to the tension. Good luck mate

      • eresh12 says:

you too horse. not a good sign for me with lingard on the bench. 2 minutes before deadline I changed chilwell to lejuene to take my hit to -12. might not have been a good panic move but not much options out there for a 4.3m defender.

      • inittowinit says:

I had you down as being more measured than that Horse! Why the sudden change?

        • Horse says:

Well Innit I was on Jesus until today. I thought Kane is the safer option 78.% ownership in top 1K as opposed to 41% for Jesus so I put it on Kane because if it goes wrong for Kane it will go wrong for everyone else too.

Then started looking at chips remaining.
I got an OR of 106 now ahead of me 91 still have chips. 24 BB 62 TC and 7 both. Plus behind me and up to OR 200 32 have BB. It could be the only chance I get to make the top 100 so I felt I may need to take a risk.

I couldn’t get away from the feeling that Jesus could score really big against Huddersfield and will probably start against Brighton too and get more points than Kane. Kane doesn’t scare me in the same way. Also I have triple Spurs already.

I bet Kane and Jesus will score about the same in the end smile

        • inittowinit says:

Nothing to lose mate and everything to gain. Goes wrong and you’ll still have a great rank for the season. Goes right and as you say could be a ridiculously good one. I went for Jesus too so I’m right behind you smile

        • Horse says:

Missed the deadline. Triple armband still on Kane
          #queserasera smile

        • eresh12 says:

ahh horse. mine registered in time and the armband is on Jesus. my ML rival who is 13 points behind me captained kane. he only did 1 transfer this week with gross out for lamela: https://fantasy.premierleague.com/a/team/1092157/event/37

        • eresh12 says:

apologies. meant to say I am behind my ML rival by 13 points**

        • inittowinit says:

          Horse, you deserve shooting laugh

        • Horse says:

Eresh. Is that your mate’s team? His bench looks very strong but he doesn’t seem to have BBed. Imo you got a good chance of catching him.

        • eresh12 says:

hey horse. that is my rival’s current team. didn’t know a bench of joel pereira, quaner, goldson and mbemba would qualify as strong. He has a differential of kane, mili and eriksen which favours him more to get points but i am banking on triple city to make the difference.

        • Horse says:

          @ Innit LOL smile

        • Horse says:

@Eresh. True just looked at the fixtures more that the players. Bit on edge at the mo smile

        • eresh12 says:

no worries horse. same here. make or break DGW. best of luck mate

If anyone’s struggled to get on in the last hour, it’s us not you! We’ve been having a capacity related issue for a few weeks. Without getting technical, when it gets super busy (deadline approaching) it’s overloading.

    We can but apologise.

The good news is we know what the issue is and we know what the fix is. The bad news (for us!) is that it’s a major fix. As such we’ve decided to ‘get through’ to the end of the season as we are. We put a temporary fix in place 2 weeks ago which worked last week (no downtime) but it didn’t quite hold this week which will be because it’s a DGW (big spike at 6pm onwards). Next week should hopefully be fine again and then we can go into the summer and do the necessary big fix and hopefully fix it for good.

It was either that or take the site down for a full week during the season which wasn’t preferable, especially at this stage.

Thanks for your understanding and patience.

thanks for the update innit and these past 2 weeks seemed to be better on deadline day. you and your team are doing a great job on maintaining this site. hopefully it will be in a better state from next season.

      • inittowinit says:

Thanks eresh, these things happen. A website is just like anything in life really, it’s prone to wear and tear and eventually needs fixing or replacing. Bit annoying as we did a rebuild only 2 seasons ago with the new fascia etc. We tried to preserve all the old articles at that point too, which was probably unnecessary and an error but you live and learn. It’ll be fixed anyway, that’s the main thing, and hopefully we will be able to use the World Cup to test it out.

I work for a load balancer company mate. We specialise in hardware, virtual & cloud application delivery controllers, for ensuring zero downtime. More than happy to put you in contact with our engineers and sort you a generous discount.

      • inittowinit says:

Thanks mate, drop me an email at some point, it may be something we can use. Stripping the site back to bare minimum and starting again as such will probably help a bit too! It’s like climbing Everest and adding a fresh 5kg bag every day as you get nearer the top, eventually you’re going to collapsesmile

        • banjomaker says:

Our engineers have these conversations every day. Can’t remember your email, but my work one is jake@loadbalancer.org. Quite happy to hook you up with our techies, even if it’s just for some advice. Not sure what your current set up is, but our company is formed on open source kit, so even if you want a DIY solution we’d be happy to offer advice.

I hope you’re going to save Rosco’s first decent article! laugh :hippo:

Of course we will. Let us know when it happens laugh

        • AT says:

Hahaha, you’ve one-upped me there. Well played.

        • inittowinit says:

Sounds like your typical ‘Call Centre Celeb’. As I believe all Geordies are, last time I checked anyway smile I think the script is that they all work for PPI or mortgage companies cold calling people all day and then when asked they say they work in ‘IT’. And then they go home and drink Lambrini. And then post pics with a dummy bottle of Laurent Perrier. I think laugh
