Fantasy Premier League – International Round-Up

[three_fourth padding=”0 20px 0 0″]

[/three_fourth]Hello you global fantasy managers out there, how happy and enthusiastic about national team footy are you all? A lot, I rather watch Andorra vs Latvia ahead of any EPL game any day of the week, I hear? Bored off, I hear? Absolutely annoyed by it really, I hear? Well, well, surely we all like to see our country battle against other nations but maybe they should only do it after our dear FPL season is over and not just after it began! F**! Just now that we got some momentum going, and by momentum I mean FA’s impressive streak of disciplinary action, they just had to bottle it all and hijack all our best assets making them travel around the world instead of letting them rest nice and easy in each one’s club camp!

Well, the fact is that there’s no way around it and if that’s that then we might as well know at least the extension of the damage they inflicted to our goods and that’s what this article is about: bring to us all some light about what have FPL players been doing these past two weeks, which in case of Wilshere has nothing international about it, except for the American whiskey he’s been drinking down on the south coast, home of his new club AFC Bournemouth.

On this article we aim to update you on how the most important FPL players fared (if at all) for their national countries enabling a better assessment of their condition ahead of GW4.

Of course we couldn’t cover all Premier League international players so we opted for a mixed criteria that combines belonging to the top 10 on Ownership (TSB%), Total points (Total Pts), Form or Price for each position. If a players meets more than one criteria he’ll only be mentioned one time and for the first met criteria on that order. “NA” means either that the player wasn’t called by his home country (Barkley, for instance) or that his country only played one game in this international break (England, for example). “0m”, on the other hand, means that a player indeed travelled with the team, but did not feature (only three players had 0m in both games and they are all keepers – namely Adrián, Stekelenburg and Mignolet).

We also highlighted other player’s performances that we thought were worth a mention albeit not meeting the criteria such as Mandanda, Silva, Eriksen, Snodgrass and Tadic. That should cover most of many a managers concern over their team. If not, however, please use the commentary box if you are looking for any specific player info. We won’t go all the way to new boys Kosovo for that, but we’ll give it our best.

Finally, there’s a Highlight table in the end that, regarding popular FPL players, enhances the best performers and the biggest underachievers.

Bear in mind that for injuries and player’s general availability info you need to check back on Friday for Cookie’s invaluable Around the Grounds article as any update we could give you on that wouldn’t be accurate.

Here follows how your internationalbreaked players fared:

      Good man Potty, I’m in.

I created a site one earlier. I know you like your twitter friends in yours so I figured we’d do one for the Regulars on here as well as we usually do. You tweet yours and I’ll retweet it for you. The FF247 one I’ll keep to being just on here with no tweets or FB coverage to try and keep it in house if we can.

Code for the FF247 site one is –

      11353QTF

      • FC Sanchez says:

Nicewon, Init + Potty. Seems like several injured star players in the first CL round. At least the site is running on time this time!

        • inittowinit says:

Cool, that’s 3 of us at least anyway… You and I jostling for top spot and both wondering how on earth Potty is already 50 points adrift after GW1 laugh

        • DMC says:

Registered. In both. Potty will now have competition for that 50 points gap.

        • FC Sanchez says:

Haha. Don’t know why UCL is not as popular w/ guys on here?! Would have thought it was nice midweek action/fun and with some seriously tasty teams/players and scores (at least in the group phase).

No, oddly. I rather suspect they are buying time on this due to legalities. I saw that there was a similar one recently with a player from a lower league club and he got a 1 gamer and a 1k fine and got sent on a course, not sure why this one is different other than possibly the length of time ago it was all posted.

      • PeterPan says:

        innit,

        What did Gray do?

        • inittowinit says:

Mugged a 70 year old granny and then pushed an 8 year old off his bike to use as a getaway vehicle. He also posted some homophobic tweets about 4 years ago. One in particular seemed to condone the killing of homosexuals. Not great whichever way you cut it but in all honesty the club should have done a cursory check on, and should do so on all players, of their social media history, seen them and deleted them. I’m pretty sure Man City do, for example. Probably a classic case of a small club being thrust into an unfamiliar world. They’ll learn.

*the first bit was untrue by the way, just before we have our own legal issues smile

        • PeterPan says:

          haha cheers mate

        • inittowinit says:

Sorry, I’m just bored and I know you like the odd fanciful tale smile

    banjomaker says:

Jaku or Pickford? Who’s most likely to keep their spot? Or is it definitely neither? Any other 4.0 options?

    • 22.1
      Smash10 says:

I think it’s neither. I think Butland is out for a while so Given maybe

      • banjomaker says:

Not really willing to spend any more on a sub keeper. Don’t know whether to suck it up and pick someone who’s not gonna drop in price, or take a punt and pick one of em, in the hope they do keep their spot.

        • inittowinit says:

Who is it as back up to banjo? Given looks ok for GW6 & 8 but depends if you need one for those weeks. He’s 4.5 as well though, which is odd all things considered. Mainly that he was always definitely only second choice.

        • banjomaker says:

Foster’s my first choice. Fairly happy with him, but would like an option on the bench who’s playing. I think I’d rather pick any 4.0 keeper than take a hit elsewhere now.

        • Smash10 says:

Oh sorry presumed he was 4 million

        • inittowinit says:

I assumed he would be too Smash until I checked. Foster looks ok until GW8 & 9 anyway in all honesty banjo. I can’t see that Mika has been added yet, I’d possibly suggest him if he’s 4.0 but in all honesty his 8 & 9 maybe don’t help anyway so unless you have that spare 0.5 then maybe just stick. Defo no other minor defensive switches you can make within the same teams to release it?

        • banjomaker says:

Here’s my current wildcard team. Not really keen on downgrading Valencia or Baines. Need to keen the remaining funds to afford agueros return.

        • Horse says:

          Hi Banjo.
I don’t think either will play
Changing the subject, ‘Who needs Zlaten when you have Gary Roberts?’
4 goals and a assist from a midfielder.
          Things are looking up smile

        • banjomaker says:

The lower league Zidane smile Let’s hope we can push on from here.

        • Horse says:

How was it for the Crawley game?
Thinking of coming across (from IOW) for the game on Saturday.
          You going?

        • banjomaker says:

I didn’t make it Saturday, was away for the Mrs’ birthday, but apparently it was a huge improvement. Can’t make this weekend either, as I’m going out for lunch with the family, for the Mrs’ birthday. As I’m writing this I’m realising that I may have developed a thumb print on my forehead.

    Starfox says:

Vardy or Costa for the next 2 game weeks?

    • 23.1
    • 23.2
      inittowinit says:

I’ve got Vardy and in all honesty I like his next two games. He could easily expose Liverpool and then it’s Burnley at home. He’s not played over the break either whereas Costa has. Costa’ fixtures are on a par though I guess. I’d be happy with either in all honesty. Vardy gives you a very viable captain option in GW5, one which many won’t have.

    • 23.3
      DMC says:

Starfox – at this point, I probably wouldn’t buy Vardy but I surely wouldn’t sell him either given that Slimani is in the squad. Not only he scores, but he often enhances other players chances and with vardy’s work rate and goal scoring capabilities I think this will be a great partnership, granted ranieri keeps the 4-4-2 flowing. Mahrez will also benefit from this.

Costa seem the favorite to replace Kun?
