FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 33

Welcome to the FF247 Fantasy Football Site Team Gameweek 33. So our first week with our 2nd wildcard was….ok. Which perfectly sums up our recent performance really. We scored 58, the average was 48 and we saw another small green arrow, climbing 8.5k places to 148,105. We still yearn to get inside the top 100k and with the Bench Boost, Free Hit and Triple Captain left to play we hope we have every chance to do and much more if we utilise them properly.

GW32 saw some good – clean sheets from DDG (obviously) and Morgan, goals from Vardy and capo Salah, an assist from Son and a welcome brace from Aubayemang;
and some bad – Murray’s missed penalty and a Bailly no-show;
and some ugly – West Brom scoring vs our pair of Burnley defenders and no returns from Mahrez or William.

Last weeks result…

This week’s transfer – we have held the transfer!
To be honest we always planned to hold the transfer this week in preparation for using 2 for next week’s Bench Boost. It actually feels wrong benching young Ibe for the visit of Palace, but he is there ready to come on if someone doesn’t play at the weekend (probably Salah!!!)

We have also decided to bench DDG for United’s visit to City – so it’s double Brighton as they host Huddersfield who haven’t scored in four matches….oh boy, you can see how this plays out eh?!

The team in full

Our captain is Aubayemang, vice captain is Salah Vardy

Quite surprising maybe but Salah pays the price for only scoring once last week and PEA, Auba, whatever you want to call him, takes up the mantle as we try and gain more than a few thousand places. This could easily come back to bite us, but hey, there’s nothing like chasing last week’s points is there? Plus Southampton at home seems to be a good a fixture as one can get at the moment and of course our skipper has had a few days off while Salah had a date with Man City in midweek. And then of course came off a bit injured, and hence we’ve now even relegated him to ‘player only’ status and promoted Vardy to the vice job. We may well yet reverse this if Klopp comes out and says Salah is both 100% and 100% fit, but he likely won’t do that.

    Hey Folks, mulling over the last few WC decisions. Looking to leave enough in the bank to do Auba to Kaku next week. A little uneasy about Alonso being the fall guy. Would welcome your thoughts on A) which option from below and B) any other thoughts or recommendations. Thanks in advance for what is always quality advice.

      Hey Erlanger. I prefer Team 1 but with one or two possible tweaks.

      What about:
      Pope to Ryan as it is more nailed
      Lingard to Gross mainly because I don’t think Lingard plays 90 in either match.
      You could save a bit of money changing Smalling to a cheaper option as he could be rotated at any time too but that’s just nitpicking as a way that could help you maybe keep Alonso

      • Erlanger says:

        Cheers Matt. I think I will do the Ryan move. Good shout. Lingard to Gross I’ll give some thought to. I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to stretch to Alonso, as a result of Kaku+Kane plan. Appreciate your input!

        PS. I didn’t want to hijack your MLS question below since I can’t add value but I wanted to ask, what fantasy game are you playing? Never taken an interest in the MLS until recently (standard of play improving, TFC doing well and I live in Canada etc.) but was wondering because I might want to give fantasy a go next season.

        • Erlanger says:

          Just realized I have to go with Gross. Otherwise I’d already have 3 MU and can’t get Kaku in. Double thanks!

        • Matt says:

          Lingard/ Gross is a bit of a punt tbh and was just guessing with the Alonso plan unfortunately it didn’t work.

          I play the official MLS fantasy game. If you just type in MLS fantasy it should come up. In all honesty it isn’t the greatest you basically get a WC every week so it is very much every one having similar enough teams after the first few weeks. I’m not the most experienced in it I just do it for a bit of fun and there are a few on this site that play it too.

        • Smash10 says:

          Apart from this week I’d prefer Lingard to Gross

    MLS QUESTION FOR MITO (OR ANYONE ELSE)

    What is the situation with the Dallas GKs? Should I bring them both in and if one doesn’t play the other will or should I play it safe and go with Blake and a 4.0 gk?

    • 8.1

      Gonzalez was injured I believe, think he is back but by no means is he the automatic starter, probably a judgment call based on who the FCD manager sees better in training, which makes it super tricky on picking one. I would say grab Maurer and put him on the bench as your starter grab a 4.0 keeper on a bye and start him. On Sunday we can check who started for FCD, if Maurer played and did well then just leave as is and let him come in as an auto sub, if he was benched or didn’t score well, just transfer out your 4.0 guy for Bendik from Orlando before their game starts and he becomes your starter for the week.
      Blake seems awfully expensive a price to pay for a keeper, but there isn’t a whole lot of difference between him and a 4.0 and getting the 2 FCD guys if you don’t want to concern yourself with having to make transfers after the GW starts.
      FCD guys over Blake would be my preference plus you save .5 if you don’t want to bother with transfers. Only catch is, that’s one less spot that you can give a FCD guy on your team and I will definitely go in with 4 players on them this week.

      • Matt says:

        Ah perfect that’s what I was thinking but the transferoo thing confused me.
        I agree Blake is way too expensive at 7.5 but then again I think Johnson at 8 is even worse! I wasn’t planning on going 4 Dallas mainly due to their inconsistency. Do you really think Colorado will be that bad?

    On WC, should I keep Sterling or let him go? Won’t have any City cover and have Vardy
