Another green arrow and we’re into the top 100k for the first time this season. 96,136 to be more precise. We finished GW4 with 55pts which was 11 above the average. Once again it was our defence who led the way. Patricio had a clean sheet. Mendy & Robertson both chipped in with assists. While Alonso picked up a clean sheet, an assist and a bonus point. Elsewhere our capo, Kun, weighed in with an assist, Firmino got us a goal, while our new signing Lucas Moura picked up an assist. The rest all flopped, essentially!

Last Week’s Result

What have we done this week?
Possibly lost our marbles?! Possibly not, but time will tell on this one. We had 1 free transfer and £0.9m in the bank. And in all honesty a fair few avenues we could have gone down and a fair few issues we could have dealt with….

We’ve got Stephens and Cairney as our 4th and 5th mids.
We’ve got Mkhitaryan who no longer looks nailed on.
We’ve got Moura with (the) Son looming in his background.
And we’ve got King who we are getting disgruntled with, a feeling his many owners will probably empathize with!
And we’ve got Tomkins and Hamer both possibly injured.

So you know, just less than half the squad with some sort of issue hanging over them………

And so what did our esteemed committee vote to do? Sell Firmino!!!!!!

Why……. you may well ask. Well, I asked, and this is what I got back, verbatim –

“Because we wouldn’t sell him before the Southampton game!” (GW6)
“Our logic gets better by the week!”
“Sturridge will play GW6”
“Everyone seems to think Klopp will make changes for it”
“I don’t see it”

So yeah, erm, yeah! Don’t worry, I’m still none the wiser either. Oh and by the way, the incoming player is Vardy. That one I do understand at least!

One late addition probably went the most way towards explaining it though – “Klopp rotation over the next 6 weeks plus 4 tough fixtures in the next 6. Leicester’s fixtures are better and they won’t rotate”. That one probably nails it best, plus the small gain of £0.6m actually helps a lot towards fixing one or more of our other issues as noted above in the coming weeks.

So to confirm we have – SOLD FIRMINO, BOUGHT VARDY

The Team In Full…

CAPTAIN – AGUERO
This one was much less murky and certainly doesn’t need anywhere near as much explanation. None, in fact. Our new boy Vardy will carry the vice, as we are sure he does often in life, just in case Pep does a Pep on us all.

    What should I do?
    So many injuries?

      EBC says:

      Daniels out, Bennett in

      • hammerfan_lm says:

strange question, but which Bennett, as there is 2.
One has Chelsea, then Man City, the other has Burnley then Man Utd sad

        • EBC says:

Bennett at Wolves. Good cheap bench option to cover injuries this week.

Then more more money to fix your other problems in future weeks

        • hammerfan_lm says:

That is a good possibility, thank you.
I do intend on bringing in Richarlison next week.
Dont know whether to lose 4 this week, and either take out Walcott (as I dont think he will play), or Mkhi.
Dont know if Tomkins or Cairney will play either.
          Will check again tomorrow.

Should I ditch Mkhi? Not sure of his playing time. Plus consensus is people seem to be ditching him as well.
Am prepared to lose points, but dont want to wildcard just yet.

      • Kruzcampo says:

I was in the same state as you with all the deadbeats. Miki,Wally,Daniels. Your bench are dead men walking. You have Kante(2 or 3 points)Arnie(West Ham!)
Azpi instead of Alonso and Cedric instead of Mendy.
Use Salah to Mane or Hazard and see how far the money goes to improve your team. You really need to WC as that’s what it is for.Firefighting!!

        • hammerfan_lm says:

far too early for firefighting in my eyes.
I also think Kante is more than 2 or 3 points. He can assist.
I just need to ride out this week and things will be fine.

        • inittowinit says:

Afraid I agree with Kruz here hammer. Not so much firefighting as just correcting a good few things which could be better. It’s by no means dire just yet but lose Wally and a Mikhi no show and you could be celebrating Kante’s assist like it’s NYE.

        • hammerfan_lm says:

inittowinit – attached screenshot. sorry for lateness. land of nod got to me.
This includes if I did the Pedro and Maddison moves.
Wondering if I should do the Daniels->Bennett move as per EBC suggestion to give me a bit more funds.

      • hammerfan_lm says:

Inittowinit, well, not wanting to WC just yet.
I am willing to ditch Wally and Mkhi this week for a hit.
Bring in Maddison and who…… Pedro????
I want to have enough wonga (sorry, they have gone bust, dough to bring in Richarlison next week.)

        • inittowinit says:

Talk me through this a bit more then. Who’s Rich coming in for next week?

        • hammerfan_lm says:

Well probably take out Pedro for Richarlison. (bad move I suppose as I think Pedro fixtures are slightly tougher… depends on injuries and who plays better over the weekend.).
Maybe look at changing Azpi to Alonso as well… not sure yet.

        • inittowinit says:

This is what I was afraid of! Pedro coming in this week, possibly even for a hit, I kind of agree with. Taking him straight out again though I’m not sure on. Don’t suppose it matters ultimately if he pays it off this week but personally I tend to plan any hits around them staying for a bit.

If you do your proposed moves this week what’s left ITB and how does that stack up in terms of getting Rich and / or Alonso in the coming weeks?

Can you stick your transfer page up with the values on please mate?

        • inittowinit says:

You’ll just have enough to get Rich next week and then Alonso for Azpi the week after if you proceed with this weeks midfield duo plans. You can’t do Bennett as well for a further hit. I still think you’re on the cusp of a WC here…

        • hammerfan_lm says:

If I do Bennett this week it will leave me with 0.8m ITB.
Next week I can still do Pedro->Rich and Azpi->Alonso next week, then that will give me 0.6m ITB, subject to any injuries this weekend.

        • hammerfan_lm says:

If I did bring in Bennett, would you bench Robertson? Or play him over Bennett?

        • inittowinit says:

I don’t know, I’ve lost track of what you are actually planning to do here. I really don’t see the point in bringing somebody in if you don’t actually need them.

        • hammerfan_lm says:

This week I intend on bringing in Pedro and Maddison for Wally and Mkhi as Wally is injured and Mkhi doesn’t seem to be playing.
Then my bench is full of crocks.
Yes Tomkins might play, but I would like at least one playing sub – hence bringing in Bennett for Daniels.

Liking that move for the site team. Vardy pretty much nailed as they come and can score goals. Going forward do you maybe have one eye on mane now you only have two Liverpool players?

Thoughts on my lot. I have one free transfer and nothing in the bank. Early thoughts depend on tomorrow to save the transfer or put Maddison in for Walnuts
