FF247 Fantasy Football Team Gameweek 3

Welcome to FF247 Fantasy Football Team Gameweek 3. Our good start didn’t last long. Just one game-week if you want specifics. After finishing GW1 with an impressive total of 86pts, GW2 brought us crashing back down to reality as we finished with just 35pts and a game-week rank of 3,402,911. If it hadn’t been for our United duo of de Gea & Lukaku we’d be stood in the corner wiping away the tears. With 18pts between them they accounted for just over 50% of our point’s total. The rest of our team were such a disappointment that they don’t even deserve a mention. So onto GW3 and our two free transfers…they’ll be needed!

The team in full

We have sold KdB & Kompany and bought Pogba & Alonso
Best laid plans and all that! The City boys get dumped unceremonously after just two GWs. Kompany may feel slightly hard done by but KdB has not yet brought his preseason form into the league and the lure of a United midfielder, both form wise and price wise, was too much for the committee to turn their back on. So Ginge has gone for the Ginge-wannabe, but we’ll be dabbing with the best of them. Now we very nearly decided to leave it there and carry over a free transfer for after the international break – that of course would be the normal, conservative move we would normally decide on – however, one bright spark suggested getting the most undefensive defender outside of Liverpool and after his Wembley brace, Alonso was voted in. Just. The two sensible committee members voted to hold, the two mavericks voted to get Alonso and spend, spend, spend and their bullying persuaded the final member to side with them.

At least the talk of treating Alonso as a midfielder does (subconsciously at least) make our midfield slightly less sh*t than it did before!

Our Captain is Harry Kane
No goals, two yellow cards, the August curse, but stats don’t lie. Or so we’re told. And Kane’s stats are pretty good – more shots in the box than anyone else in the league, hitting the woodwork three times already, it is felt that goals are imminent. And hopefully they are GW3 imminent. If Kane gets lost finding Wembley or fails to play for some reason, than the inform and popular Romelu Lukaku will wear the armband.

Any particular reason with going with GroB over Carroll? I have both players and considering to go with Carroll as he played 90mins last game, on set piece and played 2 key pass.

Morning Cooks. Do you know what time Southampton’s presser is? Hoping for an indication whether or not Stephens will retain his place.

Brave moves! How much does that then leave you in the bank?

    Morning guys,

I have 2fts and nothing in the bank. Any transfer ideas?

You literally have the site team so following their transfers wouldn’t be a bad idea this week. Did KDB to Pogba myself, and then maybe hold on the Alonso move so you have two transfers for the int break.

I don’t like Ince or Gros but there’s no good budget midfielders to recommend – Mooy is a slightly sideways move and I can’t see Huddersfield maintaining their current form.

So just follow yours instead is what you actually mean 😉

I do agree, that 2nd move is unnecessary overkill.

I do agree Cookie, just unsure about it this particular week given Kompany’s fixture.

I brought Blind in for Kolasinac so I couldn’t recommend he do that as well 😉

I believe Alonso is almost a must have and have had him since GW1 but I also think it can wait till GW5/6 when the fixtures ease up before bringing him in now, especially if the player being replaced has reasonable fixtures.

2 FT for an international break is always ideal.
