FPL launch 2016/17 – New Rules and Player Pricelist
Finally it is live! FPL is back, life as we know it will not be the same for the next 10 months! At first glance there seems little change to last season – budget and squad size is naturally the same and the four chips remain in place, including the two wildcards – one to be used in the first half of the season, the other to be used in the second half of the season. The first may not be carried over – so use it or lose it. The only change seems to be in the calculation of bonus points – a breakdown of which can be found under the Rules tab.
With less than a month to go before the start of the season, managers will be busily playing with different formations and strategies, so to help you on your way, let’s take a very brief look at some of the highlights of the price list for the players.
Players Price List – initial reaction
The most expensive player (as per usual!) is Sergio Aguero who again costs 13mln, while the success last season of Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez sees their prices rocket to eliminate their bargain status! Nolito and Anthony Martial being listed as midfielders may attract decent support. Zlatan Ibrahimovic comes in at 11.5mln to make him the second most expensive player while Diego Costa costs just 9.5mln, making him cheaper than Harry Kane, Daniel Sturridge and Jamie Vardy. Daley Blind are Chris Brunt are now listed as defenders, while Eric Dier is now listed as a midfielder.

A start. In rugby from u8’s you are told to thank the ref after he gives out to you. Need more of that in soccer. On the right track though.

So, I hear there are changes within the BPS calculation, but comparing with last season’s I can’t find any changes. What am I missing?
The lads may be able to clarify or correct me here DMC but is it in the calculation of successful tackles perhaps?
Seems new to me. I could be wrong.

Hope everyone is having fun returning and looking at their teams, I have a first draft so far but nothing is set until about 3 days before the season starts see if any surprise transfers come in, but here is what i have so far. I wish everyone the best of luck this season.

I’m interested to see if Xhaka is worth it. I think Arsenal have more convincing proven attackers to invest in. And Giroud
I must admit GP Xhaka is mainly there for my team name Xhaka Khan a silly reason to have a player solely for that reason but oh well

MF solid keep an eye on Nolito he might not start.
Fwd big risk going without Kun , Kane or Ibra but Costa could do well if he stays

Good shouts as for the big forwards It’s a risk but if i remember correctly Kane and Kun had slow starts last season so going to see how they do and I have absolutely no faith in Ibra so that just left me Costa

Fwds Kun , Luk very good fixture wise & points maybe I would consider Carroll over Long if he starts he has easier fixtures & some very good MF players around him.
Cant argue with your MF maybe Fletcher for Watson easy fixtures to begin with rest look spot on.
FB I would change Terry to Shaw , Walker , Baines or Sanga if he secures his place. Swap Williams from GW 3 to Daniels not sure Len is a starter.
GK my choose as well really good effort.
Looks good but if you’ve got a Hull keeper then may as well swap the Hull Def to another team’s 4.5

I like the attack and the midfield isn’t half bad either. The defence would be serviceable if they all start the season playing. Hopefully you’ll be OK. Loads of time to go yet though. Keep an eye on the teams during pre-season as things change very quickly.
