Live Match Chat FA Cup Special FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat FA Cup Special FPL News. This weekend sees the 5th round ties for the FA Cup, meaning that it is a FPL-free weekend. However, FPL-free does not signify FPL-irrelevant far from it. If you scan through the fixtures listed below you will see eight Premier League teams are left in the competition and bizarrely all eight have been kept apart in the draw. Now a closer scan of those fixtures will show that all eight top tier teams are firm favourites to win their tie – possibly Leicester being the less obvious. We have banged on about GW28 for weeks now – and this is when we get to find out exactly how disrupted GW28 will be as that is when the 6th round of the FA Cup will be played. At present only three fixtures are guaranteed for GW28 and if results go as expected in the Cup, then those three fixtures will be our sole game-week interest.
Therefore, keep a close eye on this weekend’s games to see how GW28 will pan out and also to keep an eye on potential transfers and injuries etc.
We talk about about things going as expected, but of course life doesn’t always turn out like that does it? Look at Brexit, President Trump, Arsenal losing to Bayern in the round of 16…….
….the FA Cup really can produce some upsets and maybe, just maybe some Premier League teams may get beaten by lower level opposition. Who would ever have predicted lowly Bournemouth humbling holders Man Utd in 1984, reigning league champions Arsenal losing to Wrexham who were bottom of the the old fourth division in 1992, non-league Sutton knocking out Coventry in 1989, Ronnie Radford’s famous goal leading Hereford to upsetting Newcastle or indeed Wimbledon beating the then mighty Liverpool on the biggest stage of all at Wembley in 1988?
See below this weekend’s fixtures and to the right of each fixture the GW28 match which is at risk if the Premier League team win this weekend.
FPL carnage! Love it.

Afternoon gents, I have already done Alexis-»Mane and so I have no FT (3.1 ITB).
My question here, besides normal RMT in general if anybody cares, is: should I play with 10 men or take a hit (a -2, in truth) to bring Jaku for Pickford?
Also, if you’d follow the “take a hit route to play with 11” would you still prefer that to taking a hit for someone (and who) for KDB’s slot?
    Basically,
    a) stay put
    b) buy jaku for a -2
    c) buy Haz/Snoddy/Other for KDB for -2?
    Cheers,

I’ll give you a straight forward answer – transfer in a goalie who will play GW26 & 28. I’d almost lean towards shipping De Gea for a cheapie like Jaku. Then deal with your bench in the coming weeks smile

Hey kids, are we all enjoying our hard-earned time off?… or like me, are you all just counting the minutes ’til 26? I’ve yet to make a move and currently have 2FT’s and 1.1 ITB… original plan was to go Amat and Ibra for Coleman and Costa.. but I’m thinking of just doing Amat to Maguire or Ranocchia (or even Mawson) now.. would leave me with 12 for this weekend if Lukaku plays.. and bring my tally to 7 for GW28 with 3 ft’s between now and then.. got a 50 pt. lead in my ML and don’t need to do anything drastic.. so.. Am I ok with leaving Ibra and Sanchez on the bench for this week or should I tinker some more.. Thank you all for your consideration…

I would just do the one transfer to replace Amat – you have a full team and if you’re happy with the squad in general then no need to use up the extra transfer – an extra week or two to check on form/fitness of players you want for GW28 onwards will be useful

      • highaction says:

Thanks for the vote of confidence RR.. I’ll wait a few more days to make sure nothing changes then probably go for one of the cheap defenders…. which would you recommend?

        • Red Robbo says:

I’m looking to replace Holgate myself as non-playing bench fodder isn’t much use when blank gameweeks are around. Cheapest getting a game seems to be Stephens (Sou) at 4.0 and Fernandez (Swa) at 4.2. If you want to pay a bit more there are plenty of good options out there.

Hey guys hope you’re all well! I’ve already moved Sanchez out for Mane as many of you have. I’ve now got 3.2 and 1 FT, thinking of what to do next!

    My options are:

1.Coleman in for Amat this week ( think he could do well against Sunderland

    2. Nothing and Mawson and siggy in for Amat and Allen next week

    Or something else! Help!

      highaction says:

Hey Rosco.. I like the wait and play next week move.. Mawson and Siggy could both do well over the next few weeks.. and Coleman is no differential.. if that’s what you’re after..

      • Rosco77 says:

Thanks Man, I’m not really bothered about a differential ( as siggy is probably as template as Coleman for the coming weeks) more just trying to get the right players for the most points!

      Rosco77 says:

Yeah I think you’re probably right, I’d drop chambers for him but might be best to hold as working with 2 FT could be beneficial!

In regard to your team I like the maguire move, I was debating him or Mawson as both could be a decent pick in coming weeks. Sounds like we both might be better served saving 1 FT this week and work with 2 next!

Evening all feeling I made wrong move putting Haz in for Sanchez as Che blank in Gw 28 I’m really going to struggle in Gw 28 might be able to get six if I’m lucky I will take a hit this Gw & nk 😉

      captain-kingpin says:

On the flip side Hazard is in reasonable form and could get good returns v Swansea and West Ham. As mentioned in one of the articles on here 7/8 players seems to be around the recommended number for GW28.

Not sure why u went Hazard but if it felt right at the time then stick with it, good player plus Dgw ahead.
I assume uve already got Mane ?
6-8 in Gwk 28 is the average for us serious gamers
Those ghost team noobs will flop.
