Live Match Chat Gameweek 20 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 20 FPL News: We hope you enjoyed your 17 hours free from FPL and football in general! Yes, you read it right, GW19 ended last night and GW20 starts this morning. Now if that doesn’t smack of rotation then we don’t know what does. Obviously the teams are spread out in some sort of equal ‘ish’ fashion but there is also the issue of having so little time that some injuries will not be reported on. It’s a bit hit and hope in that respect at this time of year and so the team sheets will be eagerly anticipated and we begin at 12.30pm with ‘Boro hosting Leicester, followed by four 3pm games and today ends with Man united visiting West Ham. Tuesday evening see three games, before our week and Christmas period itself finally ends on Wednesday with Spurs hosting Chelsea amid echoes of a certain New Years Day fixture two years ago ending up 5-3 to the hosts, albeit a few days earlier than the anniversary.

FPL has Nyom on 50% probability of being eaten by cameroonians!

Morning all, HNY. Any news on Ozil/Walcott as I need one of them not to play to get Defoe off the bench. Currently on 35 with 6 to play

    Hi all,

I have 2 FT’s with nothing in the bank. I know the next deadline isn’t for another while but should I do anything with my team?
    Cech
    McAuley, Coleman, Azpil, Rose, (Browning)
    Sanchez, Lallana, Eriksen, Phillips (Fletcher)
    Costa, Ibra, (Barrow)

    Any help is appreciated

Hold tight for the moment and, on the basis there won’t be any injuries or suspensions, perhaps just look to use one of your transfers nearer the deadline so it doesn’t go to waste. If your second keeper isn’t playing any matches, perhaps something as minor as changing them? Your team looks great otherwise.

    Should I be worried.

Hello Peeps, we were thinking of writing an article or two over the coming days before we jump into our normal articles on Monday or so. So we were wondering are there any major questions you want us to address?

For now, we were thinking about discussing the 4 (Costa, Ibra, Kun and Kane) big strikers and how to make it work, with two or three and ranking them over the coming weeks to some degree.

Is that a topic that would interest or does anyone feel there are other questions out there that we should address or at the very least comment on?

With numerous players off to AFCON, is it worth a paragraph or two mentioning good replacements for some of the most popular players like Mane, Nyom, Bailly and Mahrez?

      Pancho says:

Mito and team, I think those are great articles and the banter will likely address other issues like the AFCON replacement players mentioned by swirly. I’m personally interested in the WC one the most. In particular, what’s the tipping point for issues in my team for it to be a worthwhile WC early? Seems a January WC can be justified for a team in shambles whereas playing it in early April would have to be the result of having. Half your team eaten by Cameroonian. Maybe a spectrum for ratios of players eaten to date eaten to find the sweet spot for playing the WC?!?!

Thanks fellas! In the future I can see this “Where did that Nyom being eaten rumour come from” we can sit back and giggle. May even reach Nyom and he might present it as in part the reason he shouldn’t have to go. 😉

Mito,i think thats a great idea as i myself have been wondering about going with 3 big guns up front,Zlatan,Kane,Costa( but no room for Aguero).Or even potentially rotating them.
One of the big questions should be is Kun really still essential now, given Peps rotation habits, the fact they have signed another striker and basically City not playing that well.
I agree with Pancho’s question regarding the merits and potential point gains of an early wildcard against the points potential from saving it for a dgw too.

Sounds good Mito, also a question which is related to that which I think a lot of people are asking themselves now that Aguero is back is – who to ditch in order to facilitate getting Kun back in? As most will be looking at either Hazard or Sanchez to get the chop or are we better of not sacrificing the team for Kun?. Personally I’ve been looking at Hazard for the chop.
Brooky, thanks for your simple observations about my proposed transfers to get Kun back in – you inspired me to reevaluate my plan and I decided to stretch the transfers out over a couple of weeks and in doing so managed to get Philips in for Zaha smile

Good afternoon all. Though I know its too early, I need to do transfer early as mane will drop the price soon and alli is gonna rise soon. I am confused about the following transfer plans.
    1. mane to alli/pogba/walcott
    2. mane & ramirez to alli/pogba/walcott & stanislas/cabaye/rodriguez (-4 hit)
    3. mane & diomande to stanislas/cabaye & defoe/benteke (-4 hit)
    4. mane & pickford to alli/pogba/walcott & grant/mannone (-4 hit)

I know there are lots of options. So any suggestion regarding the team and transfer option would be very much appreciated

      theswirly says:

I’d say to go for number three, to give you a formation of 3-4-3, with it being Stanislas and Defoe (if you can afford that). Foster should see you OK apart from the Spurs match (and, even then, the Baggies aren’t too bad at White Hart Lane, from what I can recall).

      • Pancho says:

You’re correct Swirly. WBA always seem to frustrate us at the lane… Lots of save points potential for him too! In the last 6 weeks, keepers who played Spurs have had 1,2,4,6,7&10 saves.

        • Spurs lead the league in shot attempts per game and shots on target per game overall. At home those numbers are enhanced as they on average get close to 8 on target per game. So you would think Foster is likely to concede but could still end up on 3-4 points just based on saves. West Brom have one clean sheet in the last 17, I tweeted that yesterday, but thought I mention it here. It is probably a fact that has gone unnoticed to some degree since most of us assume that they get CSs because of Pulis. Their defenders scoring or assisting has probably covered up the fact that they are struggling for clean sheets.

      • hochoki says:

i will have 1.1 ITB after the transfer.

        Thanks for the suggestion
