Live Match Chat Gameweek 23 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 23 FPL News: We may have been rudely interrupted by another FA Cup weekend but we are back with a midweek bonanza. Everyone loves a packed FPL schedule under the lights and having the games all tightly packed together with the points rolling in simultaneously adds to the excitement and drama. Tuesday embodies that perfectly with no less than seven games. Six of those kick off at 7.45pm, the main ones of FPL interest, certainly from from a captaincy perspective anyway, are probably Arsenal, or more accurately Sanchez, hosting Watford, whilst Kane and co look at ripping Moyes’ men a new one up north. It could be grim up there, as the saying goes. Liverpool host Chelsea at 8pm in what could be the game of the round and also one that probably dictates whether Chelsea take the title in March or whether they have to wait a few weeks until April to do so… Wednesday almost feels like a famine in comparison with just the three fixtures to consider. Man City are away but should feel entirely at home as they go from one soulless stadium to another to visit West Ham, Man Utd are at home and will be looking to ‘wear fur’ before Stoke host an in form Everton. Please join us as ever on Live Match Chat to rejoice in the points as they (hopefully) roll in. Or lament the ones missed…

Just in case anyone is panicking- the FPL average is 22 with bonuses.

Need to get Stan out of my team asap. Thinking maybe snoddy..Is he worth a chance or is there anyone else for around 5.8m. P.S. 13 lousy points tonight with 5 to go. I captained Ibra in the end so hopefully it’ll pay off.

Very similar position. On 15 with 5 to go, including captain Ibra. Snoddy is high on my shortlist too. If he hits the ground running he could be a bargain. I’m gonna wait and see what happens tomorrow night, and then maybe take a hit for Giroud & Lallana to Snoddy & Lukaku.

      Andy says:

Stanislas? Not sure whether or not I’d shift him yet as he’ll not suffer from the upcoming blanks in 26 and 28, his game time management is a little concerning though as he never seems to get the 90 minutes. I’m potentially thinking of switching him for Zaha again.

        • Andy says:

With so few games looking likely to be on in 28 now I don’t think it’s worth chasing it too hard, maybe having four or five tops will be enough with a good (c) pick, I don’t really think I’ll be wanting to play Stanislas over the next 4 games before 28 by the looks of that fixture list.

Only others I’d consider at that price are Phillips & Allen – neither of which are exactly firing.

Hazard getting subbed off 4 mins before Chelsea were awarded a PK was a heart breaker. Need Bournemouth to seal the deal for Ake to make up for it, he’s still riding my bench! C’mon gentlemen, give me another blank week player!! laugh

      Andy says:

It’s like gaining an extra two points on everyone who own’s Costa though Red smile

      • RedVT says:

Ha, that is a bit of a silver lining Andy. My H2H opponent this week actually had Costa and also took a -4 hit. Looks like playing conservatively this week with all the low scores was the best move, glad I didn’t end up taking any of the hits I considered. Still stings a bit as that would have been + 8 points for Hazard assuming he tucked it away.

Oh well, them’s the breaks! smile

      Raziel says:

Red, even as a Costa owner that was painful.

      • RedVT says:

Sorry Raz, I would have much preferred Hazard getting the 8 points and Costa getting the assist (FPL wise). Of course, in real life I’m a Liverpool supporter so I was more happy we got a point and didn’t lose on that goal. Firmino really should have put us ahead, can’t miss sitters like that against the league leaders- you only get so many chances against them!

      RedVT says:

Sounds like no deal for Ake. Too bad, that would have been a lucky turn of events. Conte really tripped me up when he recalled Ake, he was doing great at Bournemouth and scoring huge FPL points for the money.

    Raziel says:

Sighs. Gut said Kun, everybody here shouting Kane. Figured everyone would have him. I literally don’t think much of him but at times he keeps on scoring. Nevermind. Terrible week.
