Live Match Chat Gameweek 33 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 33 FPL News: Just the six gameweeks left and so time is running out to close down those mini-leagues, make a late run for glory or consolidate what you have, all in the pursuit of office bragging rights. It may just be six gameweeks but not all gameweeks are created equal, as we are about to find out. At least three of them will be DGW’s. This is the part of the season when planning and preparation come to the fore and the casuals are left in a daze wondering how their seemingly unassailable 100 point lead suddenly turned into a deficit. Chips will be brandished like confetti. And those that can’t will learn lessons about patience.

GW33 is perhaps one of the last of the ‘normal’ gameweeks when all 10 teams will play, and just once at that. Spurs kick us off with a home fixture on Saturday lunchtime, much as they did last week when they mauled Watford. This time their victims are Bournemouth. And this time they will probably have Kane and not Janssen…

Saturday continues with five 3pm kick offs as Palace welcome a rampant Leicester, Everton batter Burnley, Stoke bore Hull, Sunderland pretend to care against West Ham before we finish with Watford teasing Swansea.

Saturday closes out with Man City visiting an in form and stubborn Southampton at tea-time.

Sunday begins with West ‘out of the office until August 2017’ Brom hosting Liverpool before we get to Jose trying to derail Chelsea’s title bid at 4pm.

The gameweek ends on Monday as we count the banners again. And planes. And planes with banners. Seriously, how much determination and / or money do these people have?! Anyway, if anyone notices or cares for the game itself it is Middlesbrough facing Arsenal.

Please join us as ever to discuss the games as they happen and share your feelings, successes and woes as the action unfolds and hopefully the FPL points flood in for you.

I’m so doomed this week. Ibra not starting, Nothing from Saiggy, Redmond, Zaha..Second consecutive red for sure

      Andy says:

It’s just the way it goes with Ibra, nothing much we can really do about these kinds of decisions unfortunately, it’s not like we can really drop him ahead of the DGW but that (c) choice isn’t going to be as straight forward as it seemed an hour ago.

      • jamesimmo says:

Andy, not straight forward at all, but at least you don’t have to decide whether to buy him or not!

        • DMC says:

I think he’s a must have player for 34 regardless. In fact , him being rested in this one is good news in that regard.

        • Andy says:

I don’t really know what to say now with that one, yeah..erm..Good luck.

        • jamesimmo says:

DMC: you’d fancy Lukaku (good form) and Aguero (good fixtures after United) out for Kane and Ibra then? It’d be for a hit but I should’ve done that -4 already for Kane this weekend…

        • DMC says:

James – though one of course with the hit involved. I’ll tell you this: I have Lukaku and bought Kane and Tekkers for this one (33) looking to do Kane->Ibra for 34. But now that he’s back with a bang I can’t see myself selling Kane. Both have one good (34) and one though (35) game before WC time but Kane plays for the better team so between the two I’m now heading towards a farewell to Luk. Thank you and see you next season. ML rival also has Kane so that helps the decision too. So Luk-> Ibra to me it seems. As for Kun I’m not so sure I’d sell him ahead of the Utd game. He’s on form and loves to score against Utd. Who’s your third forward?

        • DMC says:

What I mean regarding your question is I’d do the Luk->Ibra one but not sure I’d do the other. Is this money sensitive?

        • jamesimmo says:

DMC, cheers, sorry for the late reply. I currently (selling price in brackets) have:

          Lukaku (10.2)
          Aguero (12.7)
          Barnes (4.4) laugh

so, as you were asking, the third striker possibilities are… limited!

My main ML rival has Lukaku and Aguero like me. That’s what’s making me contemplate selling both of them for Kane and Ibra for a hit.

Kane will come in for one of them regardless. I should probably wait on United’s midweek Europa tie result before making a decision on the latter. Any thoughts? smile

      • DMC says:

Well, fortunately, they don’t have EL before 35 so that helps. He may rest again on that one if they go through though.

        • Andy says:

Aye, get through the DGW and flip him to Kane as long as he’s unscathed looks good to me right now.

      • He won’t play both DGW games, for sure !

Actually, looking at UTD’s schedule, I’m pretty sure this will be Jose’s plan :
        -bench (today)
        -plays (EL)
        -bench (vs BUR)
        -plays (MCI) …
        etc…

Assuming they beat AND, this will be their scjedule for May:
        04/05/17: Semi-finals, first leg – plays!
May 7 – Arsenal vs Man United – ?!? doubt
        11/05/17: Semi-finals, second leg – plays !
May 14 – Tottenham vs Man UTD – ?!? doubt

Have to agree with HL here. He seems a very dicey option for the DGWs now. Forget about TCing him. Suddenly Aguero’s 9 point haul in GW27 has started looking good.

Need some help with a potential WC team for next week. Been top of ML for last 8/10 weeks but currently slipping so needing some action.

Thinking City, Spurs, Everton core with their fixtures and form. But open to suggestions!
