Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 35 FPL News: After a sensational Alvaro Negredo display in DGW 34, we head into a buffer of sorts. With doubles in 34, 36 and 37, this GW we can relax a little, sort of. We kick it off with four 3pm fixtures. It is pure excitement when the low scoring Saints tangle with a difficult opponent to not score on, Hull. It should be a test of wills to see who underperforms more, the Saints attack or the Hull defence. If you think that doesn’t offer enough to make you fall asleep, perhaps a taste of Stoke vs West Ham? Over the last 10 matches these two are 16th in 17th in points and have scored 20 goals combined over those 10×2 games. Yeah, a goal a game. So snooze should be on the loose in this one. For those that don’t need a mid afternoon nap, I present to you Sunderland vs Bournemouth. This could provide us with comedy gold, in particular on defence, as neither team attempts to play any. The last of the opening 4 fixtures sees West Brom welcome in Leicester, yeah, moving on. In the 5:30 game Palace hosts those away stars, Burnley. With 3 draws in their last 6 away games, think we can say they are in-form, perhaps I will place a bet on them.

Luckily after enduring a Saturday of not having any real footy to watch and feeling properly rested, we come to Sunday. Yes, yes, yes, yes…sorry was watching when Harry met Sally orga, errrr, restaurant scene. Where were we at? Oh yes, Sunday footy. Lunch time sees the battle for fourth resume, as United tangles with a Swansea side who also has a lot to play for. Both teams in need of a win, will hopefully lead to some goals, maybe, Jose is capable of sucking the fun out of any game, so be aware. That is followed by two 2pm-ish encounters. Boro and their vaunted attack will look to score some goals, well, a goal vs City. City’s fans (player’s families) will want to get out of that red velvet sandwich they are currently caught in with LFC one point ahead and United one point behind tickling their tuckus. We also see Lukaku’s former and future employer Chesea visit Goodison looking to inch closer to the title. CFC has slowly let Spurs crawl back into the race, so they can break their hearts again at the end. In the last Sunday fixture we have the possibility of pure joy. We see the possibility of killing 2 dreams with one stone. When Spurs face Arsenal only one result would do us right. A loss for Tottenham would all but end Spurs title dreams to their bitter rivals and hopefully such a result would lead to a new contract for Wenger. Sounds like a win-win to me.

Monday finishes off the GW with Watford hosting Liverpool. Should be a very predictable game. If City and United win expect LFC to do also, If either of the Manchester sides drop points expect LFC to. If there is one thing we know is that if LFC is given an opportunity, they let it slip away.

Please join us as ever to discuss the games as they happen and share your feelings, successes and woes as the action unfolds and hopefully the FPL points flood in for you.

Last bit of tinkering for the night lads. Which team do you think is better?

      • DMC says:

Hi Matt – essentially, it’s Kane vs Costa and to that I say Kane. His also has Cech instead of Lloris which is good for 36 but I’d then change it to Lloris for 37 if that’s possible.

        • DMC says:

          Or Willy, if not.

        • Matt says:

Hey DMC, how are you mate?

Yeah that’s one of the main thing’s but I’m also worried about Tadic and Gabby.

So you would have Cech for this weekend and the swap him to Lloris?

        • DMC says:

Matt – all’s well mate. Thx for asking.
Well, Tadic / Gabby do worry me of course. I have none at the moment. It’s difficult to go with 6 dgw36ers. I know that also have a double in 37 but that’s when many others from better teams also do, so while I don’t think dgw36 should be ignored I’m also not sure on double Saints attack (or defense…), so maybe 2 Arsenal / 2 saints is enough. On the Cech/Lloris front I’d do that yes but mainly to have some spurs defensive cover. Finally , do note that I wasn’t commenting on these two teams as a whole, just the ‘one or the other’ call. I suppose you don’t have your WC left, or do you?

        • Matt says:

Yeah I’m thinking Sanchez, Cech, Stephens and maybe leaving it at that. I’ve activated my WC for this week so I’m currently using it.

      banjomaker says:

Probably the first one for me Matt. You decided on Tadic? I was chatting to a season ticket holder for that lot this weekend and apparently he’s been awful for a while now.

      • Raziel says:

He is hot-cold. Soton themselves are just not as good as they were last season. At home they are amongst the least best goal scorers, the top 4. They have a lot of possession but they don’t do shit. It’s quite annoying. Gabbi being subbed after 59 makes it hard for me to keep him.

      • Matt says:

Yeah I really don’t want to keep Tadic. I’ve had him for a few weeks now so I’m thinking of swapping him to Redmond but I’m not sure.

        • banjomaker says:

I think I’d rather Pedro. I know they’ve got one less fixture, but the 4 they have got are really nice. Tadic/Redmond have some tough matches.

        • Raziel says:

I’d personally pick Sane over Pedro. Also depends on Kuns injury though.

        • Matt says:

I didn’t even think of Pedro but I really like that move. Think he’ll definitely be coming into my next draft anyway. Cheers for that Banjo.

        • banjomaker says:

Sane is a tad(ic) more expensive tho. Not sure if Matt can afford that? Please excuse the awful attempt at a joke.

        • Brookyboy says:

          King in for Tadic Matt.

        • Raziel says:

I’m just hoping you are better at making banjo’s than you are at making jokes. 😉

        • Matt says:

Would love Sane but Banjo is right, even if the terrible joke 😉

Would prefer a DGW player tbh Brook. What do you think of this lot?

        • banjomaker says:

Nice looking team there Matt. Not sure I’d have Jagielka and Kingsley in a WC squad myself.

        • Matt says:

Cheers Banjo. Jags is becoming Holgate to save money and Kingsley is just another money saver but might change him to a Watford defender.

    Raziel says:

Sighs, I really hated FPL for a while now. Like a few months. This gameweek included. It is literally like all the decisions go against me. A 100 point mini-league lead turns into a 9 point chase now.

I just want to strangle the FPL Gods. smile

      Raziel says:

Hehe, and I would be way better off if I had done 0 transfers, these past 2 gameweeks. smile

      • Raziel says:

Personally I cant wait for this season to be over. Looking forward to a new draft of players. Tired of the current ones and the currents team.. Hehe. :p

    chillywilly_007 says:

Bit stuck. Thinking of taking out Holebas for either one of the Chelsea defenders OR Southampton ones and Benteke for Jesus. Can see Chelsea keeping a clean sheet against Boro but Saints do have DW but are they likely to keep a clean?

    • 165.1
      Matt says:

I’d hold off on doing anything and wait to see the extent of those injuries to Bailly, Couthino and Holebas. But if I had to choose I would do with Cahill.

      • chillywilly_007 says:

Cheers Matt. Would you do the Jesus move though? BTW reckon we’ll get fourth?!

        • Matt says:

Would bring Jesus in for sure.

I’m hoping we get 3rd mate like the Manchester clubs fight over 4th. 😉

        • chillywilly_007 says:

Lol yeah that’s what I’ve been thinking. Fourth would still mean a qualifying round I think. God knows we’d balls that up!

        • Matt says:

It would unless United finish 5th but then win the EL so finishing 3rd is the safer option.

Hi looking for any input for my WC team, BB GW37. No1 in my leagues have BB or WC left. Thinking on selling king for Son or sanchez to hazard next week. Just depends on how this week goes

    Raziel says:

Are there people here with Wildcard already played? I would really dislike that if I take a good look at the current state of my team and the DGW’s approaching.

    daddycox82 says:

This is the last go (I hope) winning my league nearest to me is only 10 points behind, I have the wildcard and no bench boost, and he has triple caption as well bench boost coming but thank god no wildcard.
I honestly spent 8 hours on this today lol

    • 168.1
      daddycox82 says:

He has Sanchez which I am guessing will be his triple captain but as all the guys here says not on form where Ozil is,

      • andystav says:

Nice team – Templatey but since you have no bench boost, go as cheap as possible to maximise your starting 11
You are banking on Soton keeping at least 1 clean sheet this GW which could fail as they have 2 difficult games – but if it comes off you are looking good.
Do you think Arsenal will keep at least 1 clean sheet this GW? I’m not so sure… Double Arsenal defence? Tough tough… Facing similar predicament this week…
