Live Match Chat Gameweek 38 FPL News

Welcome to Live Match Chat Gameweek 38 FPL News: And there it was gone! 37 weeks have flashed before your eyes once more. And 38 will do the same as well because all 10 games happen on the same day at the same time. It always seems a bit cruel to have all your FPL hopes and expectations finally decided for you in such a swift fashion. Especially since we’ve all agonised over relatively minor points in game-weeks which have sometimes dragged on for as much as 7 days, as GW37 did. But that’s the way it is. Strap yourself in for a smidgen over 90 minutes. It’ll be agony or ecstasy for many. We hope it works out for you all. It wont. Not for everyone anyway. If it does then feel free to share and celebrate your success. If it doesn’t then know you have friends to share that with too. We’ve all been there and seen both sides of the coin. In a nutshell that is what has made this community great over the years, there’s a mutual understanding and respect and an empathy for whichever way it works out.

As the season comes to a close we would like to say a HUGE thank you to everyone who has been a part of the Live Match Chat discussion throughout the campaign. You make each match day come alive with every comment. It’s been a pleasure to watch each game-week unfold from the eyes of dedicated FPL players but also just football fans in general. The discussions that arise can range from the sublime to the ridiculous but are always entertaining regardless!

Unfortunately we don’t have any World Cup or Euros to entertain and keep us busy over the summer but fear not as we will be staying ‘relatively’ active. We will forgive you if you need a break of course but we have a good number of articles in the pipeline already. We have a couple of interviews lined up and then we plan to gear up for next season with some articles featuring the promoted teams as we always do. And if you are playing MLS then Guy will of course be publishing his tips on that as normal every week. However you choose to spend your FPL free summer we wish you all the best, we thank you for spending the season with us and we hope to see you again in August to begin the merry go round all over again!

    Red Robbo says:

    Hey guys and gals.

First up, I want to say a big thanks to all the writers and regulars for their time and invaluable advice, which undoubtedly helped me overcome a big points deficit to win my money league in the last week. I stormed home after playing my wildcard in GW35.

Hit the post button too early there!

As I was saying, I think playing the WC in GW35 instead of GW36 paid off as it allowed me to see what my opponent did, and have 2 FT’s to react, which made a difference.

So anyway, what was your FF highlight of the year? Mine was having the foresight to bring in Lukaka for both GW4 (17 pts) and GW24 (21 pts) – had a hunch both times.

Lowpoint? For me, definitely GW34. I had a 2 hour window of internet access right at the start of the gameweek to sort out my team. Transferred in Ibra, who proceeded to get injured whilst I was cut off and didn’t even know about it, let alone actually do anything about it!

Now to start planning for next season. 65K this year – my best is just over 25K and I really want to crack into the top 10K soon. That means I’ll be looking for more of the usual great advice here laugh

      Cheers

      Robbo

Lowpoints for me were bad cappo choices. I got left behind in my ML. Highpoint was clawing my way back to 2nd, gaining a little respect, with the help of folk on the boards. I did have a special moment when Alsed posted that he had won his ML, i keep in touch with Al and with his personal problems felt he did really well. Great going Al.
