Welcome to World Cup 1st Group Phase Live Match Chat. The long four year wait is over and so is the tinkering for the first set of matches. We hope that you are happy with the 15 players you ended up with, but even if you decided against playing the fantasy version we still encourage you to partake in the chat below. We are sure there will be plenty to discuss that doesn’t always involve whether you should get assist points for a shot that was blocked or your striker really did touch the ball a la Kane before it went in. Predictor games, brackets, bets on the golden boot are all welcomed here. And yeah, even old school footy chat for those that who are just watching the games for fun and just want to talk about the Joga Bonito.
So that you have them to hand, we will post a screenshot of the substitution rules, transfer allotment, wildcard, boosters and of course we will have times and dates for all matches in this, the first of three group phases/rounds/fixtures or whatever you want to call it.

What a horrible first round! Panicked and used my bench boost as I couldn’t think of when the best time to use it would be and I thought my players had good fixtures; how wrong could I be?!
To top things off I completely forgot about the transfer deadline and lost my FT!
Can’t say I’m all that impressed with this years website but this years World Cup has had it all so far. I trust most on here have had more luck than me? 😀
Deadline isn’t for another hour yet AK, you can still use your FT now. The website is crap, better off grabbing the App, I’ve had no issues with that.
Are you sure that’s not just substitutions? I was tempted to WC as all my big guns failed.

Hell of a lot better than my team. The thing that puts me off wildcarding is that everyone that failed in round 1 could score big in round 2. When I FPL I try and avoid knee jerk transfers at all costs but obviously this being a tournament it’s somewhat different.
Neymar to CR7/Costa?
Good call, AK47+SZ. The potential Neymar injury defo allows for desirable moves. Might just do that! Anyone thinking Suarez/Cavani might explode next game? Seems the Egypt keeper just had a brilliant game keeping them out and on another day, Uruguay could have scored a few… Or am I missing something?

If this helps I’ve decided to take a hit and do Neymar>Ronaldo as well as Lewa>Costa and I also have Suarez up top. Sticking with the big front 3 but hoping this time it pays off.

Hey AK – Neymar limped off from training today so not sure what that means for his next match. I had a shocker so I WC’ed and binned almost everyone! Lewa > Costa prob a good move.
