  • Emery should name close to an unnamed side with Iwobi or Mkhi possibly being the place where he has doubts on who to start. Both played 90 in the Europa and one came on for the other last weekend.
  • Sokratis made his return last night and played the full 90. One would expect that he wouldn’t make two straight starts with few days between them after coming back from an injury, so Mustafi and Holding should pair up again.
  • Welbeck suffered a broken ankle vs Sporting and Lichtsteiner suffered a muscular problem, Emery said (on Lich) they would know better today once they had a chance to look at it better.
  • Koscielny, Mavropanos and Elneny are likely out for this weekend, all 3 could return to the squad after the international break.

  • If you cover pressers, Howe is a dream and a nightmare rolled into one. He usually says nothing, so one doesn’t have to report much, but then one is forced to look for stuff to write about, like this bullet point.
  • Eddie said this on King “At the moment, we’re not sure if he’ll play or not, so we’ll have to see.” Howe also mentioned that he has been training this week, but didn’t mention if it was with the group or not. Pictures did surface yesterday and he wasn’t seen with the squad. Best case scenario sounds like bench if anything.
  • As far for the rest of the squad, it sounds like they are fine.

  • Hughton confirmed that Alireza Jahanbakhsh picked up a slight strain against Everton and it appears likely he will miss the trip to Wales. Anthony Knockaert is likely to come back into the XI should the Iranian miss out.
  • Pascal Gross and Davy Proper continue to miss out. Gross has trained with the squad this week and Proper is due to re-join the group on Monday.
  • Despite being 35 it doesn’t sound like Hughton will be giving him a rest anytime soon, “My feeling with him is that if he does need a rest it won’t be down to his age, it might be other circumstances.”

  • Burnley face the difficult emotionally challenging trip to Leicester as they pay tribute to Chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha this weekend. Dyche said: “We will approach it in the best, most respectful way we can. That means letting the players know that the feeling of the day, predominantly, is going to be all about Leicester – and rightly so”.
  • Onto the football Burnley have lost their last three consecutive matches by more than one goal. They sit in 15th place with just two Premier League wins. On Leicester Dyche said “They will want to win, so we have to, and I don’t want any of our fans thinking we are not taking on the game, because we will be doing everything we can to win a game”.
  • Jack Cork and Phil Bardsley are set to return to the Clarets’ squad.
  • James Tarkowski is a major doubt for the weekend. Dyche said “Tarky is seeing a specialist today to find out about a similar thing, whether he can continue with it or he’s going to need something doing,”. Gibson and Ward remain injured.

  • Colin began by saying how last week was an emotional week and that it was disappointing to find themselves back in the relegation zone. He then came out with this beauty, “The one consistent thing is the training has been fantastic, they’re a great bunch a lads.” He clearly doesn’t realise that they don’t give out points for training well!
  • Harry Arter finally picked up his 5th yellow card and is suspended for the game.
  • Joe Ralls has returned from suspension but only returned to training this week. Ironically he picked up the injury making the tackle which saw him receive a red card against Spurs. Colin says he’ll “definitely be in the squad”
  • Should Ralls only make the bench Junior Hoilett could start on the right with Victor Camarasa moving into the middle.
  • Jazz Richards (knock) and Kenneth Zohore (calf) are both side-lined.
  • Colin inferred that this will be his last managerial job, “I look at the club as a farewell club (for me) but I don’t think I’ll be leaving and going to another club.”

  • Chelsea under Maurizio Sarri this season have played 17 times in all competitions. They have 14 wins, 3 draws and zero losses. This makes them the only undefeated team in Europe’s top 5 leagues in all competitions. Chelsea host Everton this week who have a terrible record at Stamford Bridge. The last time the Toffees won there was way back in 1994 (was AT even born). All of Chelsea’s last four home matches have contained over 3.5 goals. However the last time they travelled across the continent, Maurizio Sarri’s side dropped points drawing 0-0 at West Ham. The Blues did play in Belarus on Thursday night which was a 2300 mile round trip.
  • The three Chelsea defenders plus Alonso were fully rested (is Alonso really a defender).Barkley played 90 mins which can’t be good for his chances of a start against his former club. Morata, Kante, Kovacic and Willian were mostly rested. Hazard played 60 odd minutes as he stepped up his comeback after recovering from a back injury.
  • Fabregas is a doubt for the Toffees game through illness while Ruben Loftus-Cheek may not feature after a back complaint which boss Maurizio Sarri described as minor.
  • Sarri was pleased to see Giroud back on the scoresheet. This will keep Morata on his toes who has recently remembered how to score goals. “Yes, I’m pleased for him. He’s a very important player for us because he’s very useful for the team. But I know very well that strikers want to score. And so, for his confidence, I think it’s very important”.

  • When asked about injuries Roy said, “Nothing special to report at the moment…we haven’t recovered any of the injured players at the moment, but then we haven’t lost any more either at this moment in time.” That means they’re once again without Joel Ward, Scott Dann, Christian Benteke and Connor Wickham.
  • Max Meyer hasn’t particularly impressed since his arrival from Germany but that’s possibly because Roy has been trying to put square pegs into round holes! Jeffrey Schlupp could replace him on the left side of midfield this weekend.
  • Alternatively Roy could revert to a three man midfield with Ayew joining Zaha and Townsend in the front three.
  • Roy spoke at length about Wayne Rooney playing for England next week! Does anyone really care?

  • Apparently Liverpool ‘hurt’ after losing midweek, but Fulham are ‘more than triple hurt than they are’. So there, take that Liverpool.
  • Kevin McDonald is the only new injury concern, and has been ruled out with a muscular strain he sustained against Huddersfield on Monday night where he came on as a substitute and back off again 19 minutes later.
  • Speaking about his team’s performance against Huddersfield, Jokanovic lamented his side’s work rate and felt that they gave up before the final whistle. Expect the master-rotator (careful) to ring the changes this weekend against Liverpool.

    • Wagner on injuries “It looks like we have the whole group together. Danny Williams is back in training since yesterday. There are some knocks people got on Monday, but Erik Durm was back in training this week too.”
    • The gaffer also had this to say (on difficulties as a manager) which might literally land him in the doghouse… “Sometimes I speak to my wife about it – and she speaks a lot! Some times I speak to my dog because it is easier!”
    • Mounie and Depoitre still haven’t scored. Even defenders from other teams (own goal last game) have scored more goals for Huddersfield than these two.

It;s not too serious but he will not play this game.”
    • The rest of the squad is available with the exception of James and Amartey.
    • Evans or Soyuncu could step in for Harry at CB while Puel will have several options to replace Maddy with Iheanacho possibly being the most likely to get the nod.

    • Manchester City host rivals Manchester United in the city’s first derby of the season.City were denied the chance to lift the Premier League trophy in front of their neighbours last season. They have scored just the 33 goals in the first 11 games of the season. Pep Guardiola’s side are on pace to break their own record for goals scored over the course of a 38-game campaign. (Ridiculous I know). The 6-1 win over the Saints was the 12th time City have scored five or more goals in the Premier League under Guardiola.
    • Pep is urging against complacency “(It’s historically been) difficult for City to beat United. United have won more of the games. We know what we have to do”. He went onto say “the derby means a lot to supporters and games against contenders are special but we are in November. Maybe the game at Old Trafford will be more important. We are in a good run. United as well”.
    • Kevin de Bruyne is City’s only notable absentee. The Belgian is not expected to return until mid-December after suffering another knee injury during the EFL Cup victory over Fulham. Pep Guardiola on Manchester City’s team news: “Except Kevin [De Bruyne], they are all fit”. Aguero and Mendy were fully rested in the Champions League this week. Jesus may be a threat to Aguero again after his three goals.
    • The Premier League champions, meanwhile, are facing serious allegations of financial wrongdoing after German magazine Der Spiegel claimed city had misled Uefa to avoid Financial Fair Play penalties. Man City say they will fully address all FFP issues as soon as they’ve completed the upcoming sale of Eliaquim Mangala to Abu Dhabi FC for £390m.

    • United travel to their noisy neighbours house this week as they face the champions in the Manchester derby. United disrupted the party last season when City were denied the chance to lift the Premier League trophy in front of their neighbours last season.
    • United have put together a good run of results recently and had a big win away at Juventus this week. The Red Devils added to recent wins over Newcastle and Everton by coming from behind to beat Bournemouth 2-1 away in the league. Jose is fighting “We are a not a team that gives up,” says the boss. “We are a team that always finds a way to fight back. Sometimes changing results, sometimes not. But we are a team that has a collective spirit to fight back”.
    • Antonio Valencia has trained this week along with Marouane Fellaini – the latter whom came on as a late sub in Turin.
    • “No new injuries,” Mourinho told MUTV. “So, from Juventus, we don’t bring important injuries. We have ‘touches’ but I don’t think any player that was available [midweek] will be out. We have a chance – it is Friday morning now. Sanchez appeared to be limping after Juventus.
    • Lukaku could return. Jose said “Lukaku is training with the team this morning. If the answer is positive and we have, of course, one more session tomorrow, but if the answer is positive then he is ready. But in this moment I can only say that he trains with the team. I don’t know his answer.”

    • Saints host Watford this week and they could really do with a win. Saints will be tense as they have failed to win in five matches in front of their own fans this season and the goals have hardly been flowing. The pressure is mounting on Mark Hughes following that Etihad Stadium thrashing with the only consolation being a Danny Ings penalty. Hughes was typically delusional Hughes added: “It is not a result we take any pride in but the fact we were trying to create chances when the game was gone shows the character was good.”
    • Mark Hughes is trying to mix things up by having the players train at Saint Mary’s. This guy will try anything. “I think everybody knows that if we keep doing the same things it shows a sign of madness”. (Time for a manager change I hear you cry). “Sometimes you need to mix things up and we’ll see at the weekend if it makes an impact. It doesn’t harm anything by having a change of scenery.”

    • Eric Dier and Victor Wanyama have both returned to training although Pochettino admitted that a last-minute decision would have to be made on the pair.
    • With Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli both playing 90 minutes against PSV on Tuesday, Lucas Moura and Heung-Min Son brought off, and Erik Lamela coming on for 30 minutes, it will be interesting to see how the manager sets his side up against Palace. Oh right, that’s our job. Ermm, well if Dier and Wanyama are ruled out, Eriksen could play in a more defensive role to allow four of them to start.

    • Watford travel to Southampton this weekend. The Hornets missed a host of chances last time out when they lost 1-0 at Newcastle. Gracia was not impressed “If you don’t score, if you don’t kill the game when you have the chance to do it, you know afterwards something like this maybe can happen,” he said of the 1-0 loss. Watford have generally done well on the road this term, picking up seven points from five away games, and won 2-0 at this venue last season.
    • Room for caution though as the Hornets have won just one of their last ten meetings with the Saints.
    • Javi Gracia confirms Troy Deeney is back training and the skipper “should” be in the squad to face Southampton after missing the last three games with a hamstring problem. “We are stronger with his comeback. He’s another option.” His return means Gracia has Isaac Success, Gerard Deulofeu, Andre Gray, Stefano Okaka and Deeney vying for the two spots in attack.
    • Javi Gracia on the injury list. “Only we have injured [Daryl] Janmaat and Sebastian Prodl. Tom Cleverley, as well, is not fit but this week has started to train with the team. The rest of the players are available, Troy Deeney as well.” He’s said it twice so I guess Troy Deeney is back.

    • Things don’t get any easier for Wolves this week as they travel to Arsenal. Wolves haven’t beaten Arsenal in 19 games, dating back to February 1979. Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are suffering dip in form after a highly promising start to life back in the Premier League. Wolves only lost one of their first eight games but they have now lost their last three.
    • Nobody states the obvious like Nuno. The Wolves boss in response to conceding three times at Spurs said: “It told me that we made mistakes and at home we cannot afford to concede three goals. “It is very difficult to get anything when you concede three goals at home. ” Nuno went on to say the same thing he pretty much says every week “There a lot of positives to take from the game but a lot of negatives also. We have to improve and getting better.”
    • Week one favourite Diego Jota has returned to training this week and should be available.
    • Portuguese coach Nuno Espirito Santo has an otherwise fully fit squad to choose from for the match at Emirates Stadium.

So, the Mitro price drop last night forced my hand on using my FT this week. As I didn’t want to take a hit, my options were quite limited. Went Jiminez in the end, which now gives me £2.1m to help strengthen defence in the coming weeks.

Hey guys. Can’t seem to come up to a decision here. Can’t seem to fit Salah with Mane, Hazard, Kun and Vardy in. Only way to do that is Maddison+Kun to Salah +Jimminez. Is it worth? Need one more attacking option from Pool, but is Shaqiri good enough for just one week and then change him the next? Martial is the one I’m looking at, but he plays City(good option for longer term though). What do you suggest? Cheers. Team attached.

Ok, so I was going to roll the FT, but I guess a lot of us are in the same boat wtth the Maddison injury. I’ve been mulling over it for the last couple hours and here are my thoughts. 1FT 0.5ITB

      * Martial was my 1st thought, but 0.1 short – bugger
      * Ok so Shaq as a 1 week punt sounds good :-) but then i thought game time in the long run wont be great and basically a transfer waiting to happen. With IB and the likelyhood of needing the FT to sort an issue it might mean being stuck with him for 3-4 weeks.
      * So what about another Pool mid? I thought both Milner and Wijinaldum, but then it’s a toss up and not really feeling either are going to GREATLY benefit me.
      * Both Fraser and Pererya could be a good shout, but then looking at fixtures after GW12 I felt it would be more like I’m only bring 1 of them in for a 1 week punt and again a transfer waiting to happen.
      * So I looked a bit more at fixtures and felt WH with only ManC a REAL toughy in next 6. This brought me to Anderson and Diangana, both of which I don’t know a great deal about. Diangana will leave me 2.9 itb to help with any fires after IB, but I’m just so unsure of game time. Because of this I’m now leaning towards Anderson off of the back of his brace last week.

Any thoughts? What is Diangana’s game time going to be like? Anderson in? Thoughts? Thanks fo any help :-)

Agree with every last drop of that. Diagana is the (current) direct replacement for Yarmolenko and apparently played extremely well last week. Hard to say if he keeps his place long term though so I’d probably play safe and go for Anderson.

Cheers Init, yea Anderson definately seems to be the safer option but it got me thinking. . . if Diangana is the current replacement for Yarm and going to be starting, the 2.9m would allow me to bring in Martial for the Palace and Southhampton games in GW13+14 OR Mahrez/Dilva/Sane for the WH, Bour, Wat games in GW13,14+15. Could then play Hoj againsy Ful when Diang plays city.

Just realised though that doing this would mean triple WH cover … errrr not sure about that lol
