New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Remy, Hull, Chambers, Chadli.

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Remy, Hull, Chambers, Chadli. Signings galore, loan deals, club record deals – it’s all kicking off! Today we look at some mid to lower price options and the effect that their moves will have in FPL terms. First up is Loic Remy swapping London clubs to join Benteke at Palace in a move that could provide a brilliant fantasy football option if he can stay fit. Then we move to Hull as they sign three players in one day and continue their Scottish revolution at the club (GP will be so pleased, what the hell happened to Hadrian’s Wall?!). Further north at Boro, Calum Chambers has signed for a season-long loan to escape an inevitable injury at Arsenal, before we end up with another north London escapee as Nacer Chadli leaves ...[Read More]

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Chelsea, Everton, Bournemouth, Hull, Leicester, West Ham, Boro

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Chelsea, Everton, Bournemouth, Hull, Leicester, West Ham, Boro Deadline Day was the most exciting for a long time and as usual deals were still being processed by the FA late on into the night. We’ll cover the main deadline day signings over the course of two articles, rather than blast you with minimal information and a whole host of names. In part one, we’ll cover the following – Chelsea made the headlines as Antonio Conte strengthened his defence, certainly in terms of numbers and options by re-signing David Luiz and acquiring Marcos Alonso, Everton spent much of the day chasing Moussa Sissoko but ended up with Enner Valencia, Jack Wilshere decided a few months on the south coast would be good for his ankles, Hull pl...[Read More]

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Mustafi, Perez.

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Mustafi, Perez With the transfer window coming to a close and the players off playing for their respective countries, it’s probably a good time to look at some recent signings that we haven’t covered yet. Arsenal, and more importantly Wenger, have finally loosened their purse strings and brought in two new players. These recruits include a much needed central defender in Shkrodan Mustafi and the striker/winger, Lucas Pérez. This is my first article so bear with me, now without further ado, here goes!

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Zaza, Boufal, Manquillo

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Zaza, Boufal, Manquillo The second of this week’s review of recent transfers might easily be renamed “The most pointless article of the season”. There is no Benteke to provide your 3rd striker solution, nor is there a Pereyra to get your juices flowing. Instead, we have West Ham’s new striker whose biggest claim to fame is to impersonate an English player in a penalty shootout while wearing an Italian shirt; there is an award winning African Frenchman who is injured but who still becomes Southampton’s record signing and last but very certainly least is the Sunderland defender who wasn’t even good enough to hack it in the Liverpool backline.

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. So, just as we get started and gain some momentum in FPL, we are subjected to an international break and a fortnight of hoping and praying that our chosen FPL ones return from duty injury free. In the meantime, we’ll talk the time to look at some of the players who have joined new clubs recently as the transfer window prepares to close for a few more months. In the first article we take a look at four players – Christian Benteke, Claudio Bravo, Roberto Pereyra and Daryl Janmaat. Benteke and Janmaat are well known to us of course but become viable FPL choices again, while we look into the history and merits of Bravo and Pereyra who have joined the Premier League from Barca and Juventus respectively.

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Best of the rest!

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Best of the rest! Having already taken a look at the summer signings of United, Liverpool, West Ham, Southampton, City, Leicester, Chelsea & Crystal Palace we have now decided to take a look at the best of the rest! Some clubs have clearly been more active than others but that’s not to say that quantity is more important than quality. Certain clubs have not been covered in previous articles and have again not been mentioned below simply because their acquisitions are unlikely to hold any fantasy merit. Unfortunately we cannot see into the future and because of this we may have missed one or two signings who could have an impact on FPL. Should you spot someone please feel free to let us know.

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Crystal Palace

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Crystal Palace We still aren’t quite sure what exactly it was that Pardew and his team had for Christmas dinner, but whatever it was, it disagreed with them massively. Prior to the festivities they’d won 9 games out of 17. Post turkey and sherry they didn’t win another until April. Yes, April! And they won 2 in total after Christmas, out of 21. Quite how they didn’t get relegated probably says more about those that did. But matter not, Pardew excused it all with a run to the FA Cup Final. A quick jig after a brief 2 minute lead said the final was pretty much the highlight of their season then.

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Chelsea

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Chelsea Oh how we chuckled last season when Chelsea stumbled from one embarrassing defeat to another. It really was hard to believe that this was the same team who had won the league in the previous season by 8pts losing just three games. It turned out that Jose wasn’t so special after all and he departed in mid-December having lost nine out of 16 league games. Guus Hiddink was appointed manager until the end of the season and he somewhat steadied the ship with the club finishing the season in 10th position. Roman Abramovich didn’t hang about in appointing yet another manager and appointed the then Italian international boss Antonio Conte back in April, with the Italian taking over after the Euro’s. Given his chequered past Conte should ...[Read More]

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Man City

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Man City Just what the heck happened to this lot last season is anyone’s guess. The writing was supposedly on the wall after the first five fixtures; a rock solid defence and goal scoring madness up front lead many to believe the league title would be heading back to Manchester but it wasn’t to be. Untimely injuries certainly played a part. However, even with the City stars all fit the wheels proceeded to fall off in dramatic fashion, prompting the removal of Maunel Pelligrini. If ever there was a way to shift fortunes of a club, appointing Pep Guardiola is it. A proven manager at the highest level, Pep demands 110% from every player, 100% of the time and with the rich talent in the City squad plus the new arrivals, it seems ...[Read More]

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Leicester

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Leicester Regardless of who else they sign this summer the current champions arguably made their most important signing already by convincing Jamie Vardy to pen a new deal with them, snub Arsenal and spearhead not only an unlikely title defence but also their great European adventure as they seek to rock the Champions League world, much as they did ours last season. And good on the lad too. In this age of instant gratification, easy money, fame and fortune there’s something almost wholesome and just plain fundamentally good about this decision. If Graziano Pelle and his Chinese money move tells you everything you need to know about the modern football mercenary then Vardy staying put tells you everything you need to know about a pl...[Read More]

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Southampton

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. Southampton It has been another summer of turmoil down on the South coast as once more Southampton have lost a number of their key assets. Liverpool clearly felt that they did not have enough ex-Southampton players in their ranks so decided to shell out a reported £34m on Sadio Mane. Spurs splashed out £11m on midfield enforcer Victor Wanyama, while Graziano Pelle has buggered off to China where he will earn a reported £260k per week. The world has officially gone mad! However perhaps the biggest loss will be manager Ronald Koeman who has taken over the reins at Goodison Park. Koeman has been replaced by Frenchman Claude Puel who has spent the past 4 seasons in charge of Ligue 1 side Nice, and prior to that he had spells in charge of Lyo...[Read More]

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. West Ham

New Signings – Fantasy Premier League 2016/17. West Ham What a difference a year makes! Roughly 12 months ago, some bozo on here was ribbing this lot to the max, predicting a rough season and possible relegation due to the appointment of “woeful” Slaven Bilic as head honcho in replacement of the ever sturdy Sam Allardyce. An unknown French dude was supposedly the key to Hammers success but this bozo just didn’t believe it. Who was this character, you ask? None of your goddamn business, that’s who. Now, moving swiftly on; West Ham have been quite busy in the current window, snapping up some very interesting players, 4 of which we’ll cover in this here article. Two youth prospects (Domingos Quina & Toni Martinez) aren’t really expected to break i...[Read More]
