Fantasy Football Live Match Chat GW 11
No early games this week, so we go all in at 3pm on Saturday, with Brentford v Bournemouth, Palace v Fulham, West Ham v Everton and Wolves v Southampton.
Instead of the early game we have two late ones as Brighton and Man City go at 5.30pm before Liverpool host Villa at an unusual 8pm.
Three 2pm games populate on Sunday with Man Utd v Leicester, Forest v Newcastle and Spurs v Ipswich.
Chelsea and Arsenal claim the prime time slot at 4.30pm. Hopefully with justification.
The games in full…

I’m 100% going Joao pedro in for Haaland. What’s the earliest I can do that? I have two ft so what I do with the money is another thing but Pedro in is 100% unless there is some sort of international break injury to him.
Sounds good matie!
As GP told me, wait and see how the international games play out before jumping (or at least keep an eye on price changes, in case you are short of cash, which is not likely with a Haaland > J Pedro move!).
Hope all’s well over in Oz.
Big call
Agree, very big call. You do realise that over the season Haaland will outscore Pedro points wise massively.
If I moved haaland it would only be to bring in salah/Palmer or both. Then it’s would a budget mid (Rodgers) and haaland outscore Joao pedro and salah.
I ve actually got both now. I sold wood for j pedro and sold b johnson for salah for a hit. Had more than 5m itb.
Now that I got salah and will probably c him vs Southampton, see Salah blank now.
Thanks for the feedback everyone! I’ve already got a team with Haaland and Salah so it’s not bad. I have a few players I’d like to change however. My defence has some tricky fixtures at the same time so would love to move someone around. I’m going to think about this for a while and go completely insane as always. If Reece james drops a .1 I’ll likely swap him for Lewis and roll as a punt with ‘less risks’. I do feel spurs is a good fixture for Haaland…

I think Haaland is a good captaincy option next week yeah.
Reece James will take a bit of convincing me yet.
Agree. I’m dropping Haaland so he’ll likely haul.
As for James…. why? Haha I wouldn’t to be honest
Haha I so get the disdain on James, a lot points towards that being crazy but hear me out. Has already racked up two full 90s against pretty tough opponents so you know he can do them. Looks to be used with Neto on the left in games makes me think they will get paired together more and Madueke walking straight down the tunnel in the Arsenal game makes me feel Neto could even be used on the right in his most favoured position. James will likely be picked with Neto as he can create those forward passes that Neto loves to run onto which would mean assist potential. Gusto and cucurella were used in the Arsenal game over James due to purely the legs on James. He doesn’t have the speed to keep up with arsenal’s wingers pace but in the next fixtures til jan, James being captain should start them. Chelsea are leaky at best at the back with Sanchez but earlier in the season with weaker opponents they have shown they can keep the ball and get clean sheets. No way this isn’t a massive punt but could pay if my theories are correct (they are probably not and I’m a huge Chelsea fan lol)
Its solid reasoning mate. You’ve done a lot more thinking about it than I have and I hope it pays off for you! James just breaks down injured more often than not. I just can’t trust him but I’d love to take the punt with you. You have the rest of the IB to make me a believer haha
Yeah very fair he’s a punt to say the least. I think in terms of injuries, if he picks up any more that might be the end of his career. Still not sold on him but I have been talking myself into it haha!
Yeah I agree. I think anymore injuries and surely Chelsea get fed up and just let him end the contract. No one will want to touch him maybe some lower level team who won’t mind him missing games if they get money back on shirt sales
Thoughts on Arsenal assets on WC12? Are they options again or avoids? Defence has been poor. Attack is off too but Odegaard is back now. Is Raya and Gab too template? Or just get them in?
Put it this way, I like that Odegaard is back. I think that lifts the whole side. Wouldn’t be rushing for two defensive boys – Gabriel, Saka and Havertz my choice of three.
Yeah I’m currently think Gab and maybe an attacker. Verbruggen or Sanchez in goals over Raya.
Maybe Gabriel. But none of Arsenal seem essential right now. Palmer should be a better option than saka and many cheaper forwards doing better than havertz. Their fixtures are kind of mixed also..
I am currently on Gab and no one else! That is actually largely because I don’t really like any of the defenders. No one is really performing defensively this season.
I’m not even sure about RAN as I don’t actually see many CS points there. Maybe 14, then 16 and 17
Gab + Raya is template for a reason though, right. TBH I think def double ups are rarely worth it.
I read some tactical stuff a few days back saying that Odegard’s (spelling) return will allow Saka to get back to being more direct and should directly influence his goal involvements. He’s one of the first names on in WC team, along with Palmer and Salah.
Jackson, Cunha, Wissa, Watkins, Isak, Havertz, Evanilson, Joao Pedro
Hi folks, I want ye to either rank these forwards for the next 3 or 4 games. Or just pick your top 3 please and thank you
My top 3 forwards till Christmas would be cunha Pedro isak. Jackson a very close 4th
Thank you sir. Cunha and Pedro I feel are locks. As for the 3rd spot I’m thinking of doing a bit of a merry go round. Wissa for 2 games, swap to Watkins for 2 games and then Isak for 2 games before back to Haaland perhaps….
Yeah with their fixtures they’re great picks. All depends on how your team looks. I personally try to get players in for long stints to give myself room to use transfers in other ways but everyone has their own strategies. Good luck!
This is what it currently looks like. Keeper and Kerkez will likely leave. Torn on upgrading Burgess to a better player and getting a full playing squad. Maybe Verbruggen and Colwill (Or James if you can convince me haha) will come in.
The draft

Isak for the fixtures, pens and is the talisman.
Yeah I do like Isak. Just not sure if I should get him and hold or merry go round. Watkins next two is good aswell and he’s the talisman too… not on pens though.
Ar the moment isak probably..Aston villa form has dropped, cl games too..
That is what I’m thinking too, I still have Rogers as Villa cover and Duran has probably been the best Villa striker lately but not reliable
I’d have to go: Isak, Cunha, Jackson, JP
I’m not sure why so many are overlooking Jackson. 9 attaking returns from 11 games (6G, 3A), 4th biggest scoring forward, started every game, never subbed before 60th, Good fixtures short-term & great fixtures long-term.
Am I missing something?
All of a sudden my entire midfield yellow-flagged! Plus Wissa!
cause for concern or deep breath??
Palmer, Mbuemo, Foden, Semenyo and Wissa! ouchie..
Yep – them’s the heartaches of every IB matie! You just don’t know which ones are genuine injuries or not! They’ll come good, so don’t worry too much.
I think we all have quite a high number of yellows. I’ve got 5 myself, including TAA (who I think really is a casualty, curiously!), and 6 if you count the ever-improving Greaves!
We’ll see in a couple of days. Keep cool. 😉
Ouch …
So, WC active. After looking at the premium defenders so far, I’m pretty sure I’ve decided they’re not worth the cost and will be going for a rotating backline with premium keeper. In doing so, great attack + flexibility in adapting if needed through xmas (3FTs). But …
Sanchez, 4m def (prob O’shea), & Cunha,
vs
Raya, 4.5m def (prob Kerkez), & Jao Pedro
Any thoughts would be great. Good luck for the week ahead
