Welcome to Barry and Paul’s Predictions GW16. Normal service resumed in GW15 with no majorly surprising results. In terms of the scores, Liverpool’s emphatic 1-5 win away to Brighton was the standout victory, Man City scraped a 2-1 over West Ham with many predicting a landslide victory that never came. Dwight Gayle popped up with the first goal of the GW in Newcastle’s 3-1 defeat to Chelsea, proving once again that predicting the first scorer of the GW is actually quite tricky!

Top spot for the week was shared by MBD, DenPerryDidit and Coys9 with 14pts, everyone’s favourite cock Inittowinit took second place with 13pts, all the more impressive given that he predicted Man City to put 14 past West Ham! The rules are few; 1 entry per person, and all entries must be submitted prior to the first game of the game-week. Kick-off this week comes on Saturday at 12.30pm. Once all the games have been played, we’ll count up the scores and the winner(s) will be announced in the following weeks competition article.
Scoring –
Correct Score = 3 points
Correct result = 1 point
Correct First Game-week Goalscorer = 5pts
Points are awarded on an ‘either or’ basis, so you’ll either score 3 points or 1 point for a correct prediction, these are never added together for a 4 point score.
So just to recap all you need to do is copy and paste the fixtures from below, pop your score prediction on each and then tell us who you think will be the first goal scorer of the week. And that can be from any game regardless of your other predictions. Oh and if you say 1-0, you mean 1-0 to the home team. Not either team. Capiche?
