The Boot Room – Rate My Team GW 38 – FPL Fantasy Football Premier League
Game-week 37 is still in progress, if ‘progress’ is a word that can be applied to it! At this point it’s less than a ‘damp squib’. Big names have either failed to produce, got themselves injured or in some cases failed to even appear. There are four games left to rectify the situation but either way we should still start looking ahead to GW38. Who is on your radar for the final week? Who do you feel has the best chance to shine this week? Man City and Liverpool look like they may be the only two teams who will go into GW38 with something to play for. Is it time to treble up on both of these then or do you fancy having a punt elsewhere?
Please feel free as ever, to post your thoughts, questions and feelings about whatever you want to but in particular if you would like others to take a look at your team ahead of GW38 and offer their opinions please post or link it below and we are sure you will get plenty of feedback. Some of which may actually be constructive, but we can’t promise anything!

Migs, I toyed with the idea of selling him for GW36 & 37, buying him back for 38 wouldn’t have been an issue, but I came to the conclusion that it would take up an extra transfer when other things would no doubt crop up – as they have, which we’re aware of!

I guess so mate, though I think we’ll find out a lot more about Suarez and indeed S&S as a partnership next season when they have CL to consider also.

O absolutely! Liverpool will need another 5 or 6 quality players at least because the squad will now be tested properly! It should make for an exciting summer, lets hope we get it right

Well, let’s hope you don’t !! But putting my feelings aside, what areas would you strengthen and realistically, would you like to see come in?

Realistically. We need to bring in two full backs and a centre back which I wouldn’t mind if it is Micah Richards, Luke Shaw (probably off to Chelsea or even United) and maybe Caulker but that’s cause I cannot think of any decent centre backs. Then an attacking midfielder who can score goals, Lallana would be decent I reckon, Konoplyanka is keen, if we can go back in for Mkitharyan would be nice and then defensive midfield cover but I cannot think of any decent ones? then finally a striker as well, maybe Luis Muriel but haven’t seen much of him only rumours. And Mito as well as Fifa say that Cuadrado is decent haha so he could be worth a shout

On a personal note, I think Liverpool could do with a left-winger, another powerful CB, and two wing-backs. Flannagan’s been alright but he has been exposed often. Johnson the same, he looks slow as well. Liverpool also need a third striker that’ll make a difference, Aspas won’t, Borini actually might having watched him at Sunderland.
In summary:
A left-winger or two.
A striker or two.
2 wing-backs.
A CB.
Another defensive midfielder. Lucas is too injury prone.

CB, LB, RB, CDM, GK and a pacey winger. Not the most expensive positions to find good players at.

Migs, Cuadrado is the best Colombian player going to the World Cup and that would include Falcao if he was perfectly healthy. The only one that is close if not equal in talent is James Rodriguez. Cuadrado is a pacey winger who is great in the one on one, shoots with both legs and can be used as a RB or LB if needed. That is where he started

Mito GK? to start or back up? rather harsh on Mignolet, I know he has his moments but he is a fantastic shot stopper. Let’s give him a season with a bit more of a solid defence and then we can assess, its only fair. We need to find some of those Colombian hidden gems!!

Migs is shite! The both of you. 😉 Rodgers needs a keeper that is also good with his feet for that style. He is a very good shot stopper, but he is terrible coming out to cut off balls and even worse playing balls at his feet. I never understood his signing, I do not trust him one bit.

Adam Lallana has be rumoured and I’ll take that no problem.
I like the idea of Micah Richards. That guy is a BEAST.
Rumours of Fabio Coentrao also excite me, I rate him as a brilliant wing-back.
Those are rumours that I believe are realistic..

Lads, I don’t see Rodgers being given much more than £60m to spend plus whatever he raises from sales. So to expect 6 or 7 top class signings is probably a bit much!!
And these wing-backs you refer to Milky, are these actually full-backs?!!

Kop, Coentrao is a full-back yes. Cuadrado is a winger. I see Liverpool bringing in 3/4 world class players.. that’s all really given the budget. But Rodgers has done with those expected to be poor buyers. Sturridge and Coutinho were not expected to perform as wel as they have. I had my doubts about Sakho, but he looks like he could become a stalwart.

Milky – Prepare for a summer of disappointment mate because there’s no hope of us signing 3 or 4 world class players…such players cost a minimum of £30m and we just don’t have that money to spend!!

Kop that all depends what you term world-class. I’m talking those guys who are just under the radar. I’m not talking the likes of Mata, Ozil, etc. Liverpool doesn’t have that cash!

Yes indeedy, I said at the beginning of the season that all I want is to sit on my couch on a Tuesday or Wednesday and watch Liverpool in the Champions League again! So anything else is just incredible really and thoroughly enjoyable

@Tekno for whatever is worth I think those are very solid acquisitions for this GW and tour team looks set to go barring injury. Just hoping Davis plays both as there seems to be some doubt over that.

Thanks Mito, I just have trouble deciding between Marshall and Bernardez. Marshall has 1 goal and 2 assists, all attained in the last 3 matches, Bernardez has 2 goals and 1 assist, all attained in GW 2. Both have 2 CS. Think Bernardez’s fixtures are better though, so currently leaning towards him.
