So, nothing to get too worried about. As a result, your budget has increased by 5mln to 105mln, which not only reflects the ...[Read More]

Euro 2016 Fantasy Football – Group F Even a cursory glance at the teams stats from Group F’s participants is extremely telling. Austria spread the workload around and contribute (not immodestly it should be noted) as a team. Conversely, Portugal (Ronaldo), Iceland (Sigurdsson) and Hungary (Dzsudzsák) are incredibly reliant on a single player’s output. This should make it rather easy to cherry-pick fantasy-worthy members for our squads however, as you’ll see below, Austria’s numbers have been almost too good to dismiss. The team vs individual dynamic poses a fascinating quandary. For what it’s worth, I can see Austria upsetting the apple-cart (other online shopping carts are available) and pipping favourites Portugal to the summit. Sigurdsson and his Icel...[Read More]
Euro 2016 Fantasy Football – Group E The group of death some rate it, the silence of the lambs I’ve seen written. For me it’s one of the tightest groups surely, but probably not as difficult as group D which will surely provoke a few surprises and one or two GW1 goalkeeper capos come the next FPL edition (looking at you Init!). Group E offers plenty of attraction points though. There’s the Belgium golden generation (minus R. Lukaku of course) and the Italian… err how do we call it? There’s no name for that. And then there’s Ireland who will be fighting for their lives and Sweden who will just be looking for meatballs. It could be full of 0-0 ties or achieve the incredible heights of a couple of 1-0 wins! So it will be exciting. The interesting part is that only the winner and t...[Read More]
Euro 2016 Fantasy Football – Group D This article comes to you much like my past season – full of the best intentions but ultimately hampered by time differences and life in general. Those of you playing the game outside of Europe who have managed to get a good handle on things, I do salute you as it has turned out to be harder than I imagined. Three days late or not though, here’s a quick perusal of the options in Group D. Before we begin though let’s have a quick recap of the lead-up to the tournament. England were the only team with a 100% record, and it was tough going too with the likes of Estonia, Lithuania and San Marino in there… Rooney has to get his goals from somewhere mind you. Scotland will have a taste of independence as the other home nations wi...[Read More]
Euro 2016 Fantasy Football – Group B Welcome to Group D. Oh no, sorry E. Oh hang on no it’s D and E. Yeah? No?! B?!?!?! But I’d prepped D and E… Hey, ok, no worries. Gun for hire and all that. B it is then I guess… Let’s get the important info out of the way here (the only info I actually know about B as I sit down to write this. I can tell you all you’d ever need to know about D and E if you like though!). Apparently Group B comprises of England, Russia, Slovakia and Wales. That’s where I’m at. Let’s write this ‘live’ then and see how that goes and you can join me on my journey of discovery as I research the article and literally write what I find! As ever I’ll go a bit stat heavy here but it comes with a warnin...[Read More]

Euro 2016 Fantasy Football – Group C Group C contains one team with a vast European Championship history in Germany who have played 43 finals matches, which is a tournament record. In stark contrast the other three teams have played a collective six games between them at finals. It should be no surprise therefore that the three-times winners should be strong favourites to top this group with relative ease. The sliver of doubt here though is that their neighbours Poland actually triumphed over them in qualifying 2-0 in Warsaw at the beginning of qualification before succumbing to the Germans 3-1 in the reverse. Poland have an array of talented players across many of the major leagues in Europe and arrive in the knowledge that they might just have the blueprint for beating their neighb...[Read More]
Euro 2016 Fantasy Football – Group A The countdown to Euro 2016 began with Andy’s intro article concerning the set up and rules of the game and the man himself has kindly followed that up with our first look at the groups. Group A is made up of hosts France together with Albania, Romania and Switzerland. A lot of friendly games are still yet to be played so no doubt we’ll be able to gleam a lot more information from the starting line ups as we go along but for now here’s a brief run down of the teams involved in Group A with a few player recommendations.
Euro 2016 Fantasy Football Intro, Rules and Fixtures Bonjour and good moaning, welcome to this summer’s European fantasy odyssey – this year’s tournament has seen a revamp since the all conquering Spanish team won it back in 2012 so now there’ll be twenty four teams instead of the usual sixteen fighting it out to be crowned European Champions in France this July. The teams will be spread into six groups with the top two qualifying automatically for the knock out stage along with the four teams who have the best record who finish in third place, so at this stage it looks like it could be harder to get eliminated rather than qualify but thankfully it looks nigh on impossible for Roy and his men to be eliminated after only two games this time around. It’s also wo...[Read More]
