Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 27 GW26 finally came to life at approximately 4.25PM on Saturday after a distinctly lame start to the week when suddenly Nemanja Matic got himself sent off and seemingly sent a tidal wave of activity as Bafetimbi Gomis scored what would prove to be the winner for Swansea, Mee then equalised against Chelsea, N’Doye grabbed a late winner for Hull, Vlaar got himself sent off for conceding a penalty which Moses duly converted for a late winner and Glenn Murray emerged from the bench to score late against Arsenal and ultimately almost cost the Gunners all three points with a shot against the post. It was a breathless twenty minutes which was followed by a much more routine 5-0 rout for Man City as Aguero grabbed a goal and an assist for his many captaine...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 26 GW26 is all about whether to captain AB de Villiers or Dale Steyn and if India can overcome arch rivals Pakistan in the derby. Oh no hang on… sorry. Cricket cap off, football scarf back on. Yes, yes, we know and we make no apologies for spending a few bored FPL-less days talking about fantasy cricket but hey we are just addicted to fantasy games and it’s probably just as well as that one goes on for 7 weeks and involves roughly two transfers and a captain dilemma every single day. Hardcore. Anyway back to the bread and butter after we were rudely interrupted once more by the FA Cup. GW25 was one to forget on the whole and to illustrate our point if you somehow captained Chris Smalling by accident you’d have bagged 34 points from last ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 24 We need to talk about Jonathan. He’s generally a good lad and is a middle of the road achiever. He’s not exceptional, he’s not poor, he just does enough to get by. Now occasionally, such an average kid will turn up one day and completely out of the blue blow everyone else out of the water. For whatever reason, be it luck or timing he’s just found his mojo on that day. The percentages say that it’s a one off though and most likely Jonathan will go back to his average ‘C’ grades next week and plod on for the rest of term. The moral here is if that you lumped on Jonathan last week as a massive punt and were lucky enough to land on him in his ‘exceptional’ week then pat yourself on the back but if you w...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 23 Welcome back after a brief interlude due to the FA Cup ‘weekend’, we’d say it felt like a week but it nearly was once again as the TV companies have their say and dictate the fixture schedule. Even as we speak there are games ongoing and Stoke still have a game tomorrow night. As for GW22, many a moon ago, a couple of forwards at very different ends of the scale in every way imaginable were the stand out performers as Costa and Gayle managed 16 points each whilst Oscar and Cazorla eclipsed their more popular midfield team mates once more and a new star was perhaps born over at Southampton in the shape of one Eljiro George Rinaldo Elia. Let’s go and take a look at which teams and players we feel have the best fixtures ahead of th...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 22 Without too many stand out performances on Saturday most fantasy managers ambled into Sunday with distinctly average scores. And then along came Alexis Sanchez to single-handedly make or break many a week. Those that owned him were just thankful they did, those that captained him saw their scores jump by a massive 38 points. Those that did neither…. well, we shall probably see them at the back end of the week sometime once the shock and tears have worn off. Game-week 22 is now upon us and it is worth pointing out that there is then a break as the FA Cup 4th round is in-between GW’s 22 and 23. Those of you who still have their January wildcard intact may want to consider carefully the advantages of keeping it with such a big break between th...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 21 Welcome to 2015 everyone and a Happy New Year from all of us at FF247! The Christmas period promised so much after the bonanza that was Boxing Day but in truth the next couple of GW’s after that flatered to decieve somewhat with relatively low average scores for both GW’s 19 and 20. Worry not though as the January wildcard is in full swing and so we will begin the year with an eye on that and try to guide you through the next set of fixtures to help you decide which teams are worth investing in, which players have the best and worst runs ahead and hopefully help you decide when best to deploy the bad boy.
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 18 GW17 was a tough one to call and saw a big divide between those that had the likes of Austin, Silva and erm… Yoshida and those that didn’t. If you were brave, clever or lucky enough to indeed captain one of the above then well done and congratulations on a probable huge rise in your overall ranking. With the fixtures coming thick and fast over the Christmas period we are going to take a look at which teams we feel will enjoy themselves and which teams may be wishing it was 2015 already.
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 17 Much of the talk this past week has been about how to fill that Aguero shaped hole in your team. It may be a small hole in terms of stature but it’s a massive one in terms of fantasy points. The gulf between him and the rest of the forwards in terms of points is huge. He departed on 105 and his nearest challenger is a full 25 points behind. The search for his replacement began last week of course but many will still be juggling with the decision as to where to settle given this weeks events. Those that saw the value in a straight switch to Dzeko were cruelly disappointed as the Bosnian didn’t quite make it and his replacement was announced minutes prior to kick-off due to an injury in the warm up which may see him miss a few weeks. We shall...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 16 Well that was a strange one wasn’t it. With many of the main protagonists scoring very low (yes, we are looking at you Diego and Sergio) the scoring was somewhat dented but it was similarly low for the majority, so no worries there really. What is more of a worry is that many of the main protagonists also managed to get themselves either injured or suspended in the process! It could be ‘hit’ central this week as the likes of Fabregas, Aguero, Chambers and Austin are all out for this week at least and sadly in the case of Sergio, maybe much longer. Many managers will have more flags than the United Nations at the end of this week. We expect most of the week will be filled with fantasy managers deciding how best to handle the said crisi...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 14 We hope you had a prosperous GW13. If you were one of the unfortunate ones who didn’t you are still in the right place as there are always managers around happy to acknowledge that they didn’t either. All you need to do is find them and you can sit and hold hands and console each other as you stare wistfully into the fantasy wilderness while those around you celebrate and pat each other on the back for a job well done. Either way that ones behind us now and we have to move swiftly on as GW14 begins in less than 48 hours. To compound the rush and confusion, GW15 begins a little over 61 hours after GW14 ends, so it’s sure to be quite a week for fantasy managers with tears of joy or desperation aplenty! Many went into GW13 with a bit of ...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 13 And welcome to GW13 already! 13 is unlucky for some, so they say. Let’s hope it’s a myth and is kind to fantasy managers. Certainly kinder than GW12 was anyway. GW12 was supposed to be about how many goals and points Costa and Aguero would accumulate and which of the supposedly only two viable / realistic captains would score more on the day. Well if we’d told you last week that the pair would come up with a solitary goal between them, no assists and zero bonus points you’d have said we were bonkers, but that’s exactly what happened and served to dampen many a fantasy managers week and that along with Southampton’s fairly poor showing at Villa certainly contributed to a relatively low average score this week. Those t...[Read More]
Fantasy Football Fixtures Gameweek 12 The sharper ones amongst you will have noticed that the picture on the left is not the usual Fixtures one. Well what’s the significance of that then we hear you ask? Upon closer inspection you will see it is actually a snapshot of our first ever article which was exactly 12 months ago today.
