FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 23

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 23 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 23 It’s yet another mini-DGW, this one featuring the top 2, that of course being Arsenal and Man City. We begin much lower down the league on Saturday lunchtime though with Chelsea going to West Ham at 12pm. We then have five 3pm games with yet another ‘derby’, of the M23 variety, as Palace play Brighton, Spurs go to Leicester, Saints and Wolves fight for 6 points, Arsenal and Brentford carry on the theme and Fulham welcome Forest. Bournemouth and Newcastle see us out on Saturday at 5.30pm. As is becoming traditional it is just the two on Sunday with Leeds and Man United, part deux, fittingly at 2pm, and then Man City vs Villa at 4.30pm. An odd choice in the prime slot given what else is on offer! Yet...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 22

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 22 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 22 The first of a couple of ‘mini’ DGW’s on the trot before we then have a blank heading our way in GW25. This little lot will be interesting to navigate. We begin GW22 on Friday with Chelsea and their millions, yes we mean (of) players, hosting Fulham. Saturday starts with Dyche and his welcoming gift of… nothing, welcoming their beloved ex Arteta to Goodison. Who will no doubt throw Jorginho on with 5 left to see the game out, when it’s already 0-3, just to rub it in. We then have 5 games at 3pm, with Leicester going to Villa, Brentford hosting Saints, Bournemouth taking the short trip to Brighton, Palace going to Old Trafford and Wolves welcoming Liverpool. Newcastle and West Ham close ...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 21

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 21 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 21 Feels like the games are coming thick and fast now, in all manner of competitions, but this was always how it was going to be after a winter World Cup. And this is all before the CL gets back up and running in mid-Feb. After a couple of mini-DGW’s we do however have a normal GW in front of us, and then a small break again for both the FA and EFL Cups. This one begins with a mid-table clash on Saturday lunchtime with Chelsea visiting Anfield. We then have most of the relegation candidates featuring in four games at 3pm before Palace and Newcastle see Saturday out for us at 5.30pm. Sunday is now the usual fare of two games at 2pm with Leeds hosting Brentford and Wolves going to Man City. The game of the week (in...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 20

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 20 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 20 After a GW that somehow managed to drag the Christmas schedule into mid-January and past the FA Cup 3rd round, due to a mini-DGW, we now land on another DGW, this one with a few more teams involved, well ok 2 more, but it’s something…. Just to complicate matters it’s a Friday start with Villa and Leeds getting us under way. The 1st of our DGW teams kick Saturday off with the Manchester derby at 12.30 before we then have Brighton very much welcoming Liverpool, Everton fearing the Saints, Forest and Leicester continuing the relegation theme and Wolves wearing down West Ham, all at 3pm. Brentford and Bournemouth round us off at 5.30, in probably the least enticing game of the lot to televise! On Sunda...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweeks 17-19 – A Christmas Special!

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweeks 17-19 – A Christmas Special! Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweeks 17-19 And so we are back… and straight into the madness of Christmas week FPL-stylie. We may have a gameweek fewer than normal this time around but it is no less hectic with the small matter of 30 games in 11 days, with another added on for a DGW19 on the 12th. Now we appreciate that we have just had an extended break with the World Cup but this is such a busy time for many personally, and the gameweeks often literally run into one another, so you will have to fend for yourselves a bit for the next couple of weeks. The deadlines are as follows: GW17 11am Monday 26th December GW18 6.15pm Friday 30th December GW19 4pm Monday 2nd January And the fixtures themselves are as follows...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 16

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 16 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 16 One week and one day out from the World Cup and we round out the first ‘half’ of this odd FPL season with matches across Saturday and Sunday. First up Manchester City in the first kick off, at home, against a west London side, who plays/who’s benched … *cold sweat* Brentford come to East Manchester for a 12.30pm kick off. Deadline is 11am UK time. We have five 3pm matches to entertain us. Bournemouth play host to Everton, Liverpool have Hasenhuttl-less Southampton at Anfield. Forest play Palace by the Trent, Spurs take on Leeds and across London it is West Ham United versus rejuvenated Leicester City. Match of the weekend – Newcastle v Chelsea at St James’s is at 5.30pm. Sunday st...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 15

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 15 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 15 Just the two weeks left now and this one is done and dusted in a little over 24 hours, spread equally amongst Saturday and Sunday, with 5 games on each. It’s a late start too with nothing until 3pm on Saturday when 4 games all go at once as Leeds welcome Bournemouth, we all hope to welcome Haaland back, Fulham probably not so much, Brentford go to Forest and Wolves entertain… well ok nobody, but Brighton do at least go there. Everton and Leicester see us out at 5.30pm. Chelsea and Arsenal kick us off on Sunday at 12pm, before a trio of 2pm games with Villa welcoming Man Utd, Newcastle going to Saints and West Ham and Palace going at it. Spurs and Liverpool round off the whirlwind round of games at 4.30pm...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 14

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 14 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 14 With back-to-back European mid-week games we see a bumper Saturday for once, with no less than 8 games. Leicester and Man City kick us off in the 12.30pm game. Jeff will then be in his element, a reminder of the good old days, with five 3pm starts which see Spurs go to Bournemouth, Brentford welcome Wolves, the Graham Ptter derby as he goes back to Brighton with Chelsea, Palace vs Saints and a Good Ebening (afternoon!) from Emery and his Villa as they go to the team he turned down, Newcastle. Saturday continues with Fulham welcoming Everton at 5.30pm before Liverpool and Leeds finally see us out at 7.45pm. That leaves just the two games on Sunday with Arsenal facing Forest at 2pm and then Man Utd and West Ham in the...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 13

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 13 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 13 And we go again… Three days this time beginning with another relatively light Saturday. Forest and Liverpool kick us off in the early one followed by just two 3pm games as Palace go to Everton and Man City welcome Brighton. Chelsea and Man United round off the day in the late one. Sunday sees five games, with four of them all being, inexplicably, at 2pm again. Maybe they just lost some numbers on the keyboard at the FA and couldn’t afford to replace them? Anyway… Villa v Brentford, Leeds v Fulham and Wolves v Leicester are all buried, whereas Saints v Arsenal does at least see the light of day that is Sky Sports. Spurs and Newcastle take centre stage at 4.30pm. West Ham and Bournemouth see us out o...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 12

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 12 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 12 With the top two sitting this one out we have just the 9 midweek fixtures and it is spread of 3 days, beginning on Tuesday with Brighton and Forest at 7.30pm, followed by Palace and Wolves at 8.15. Yes, it’s one of those Amazon midweek’s with the games staggered so that we can watch the 1st half of one and the latter bit of another. It’s a good idea, in theory, except it simply reminds of Covid days! Wednesday does the heavy lifting with 5 games; Bournemouth v Saints, Chelsea making the short trip to Brentford for the Andy Jacobs derby, Liverpool welcome Moyes back to Merseyside, Everton go to ‘1980’s Newcastle’, and Man Utd and Spurs see us out in the later game at 8.15. Two left...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 11

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 11 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 11 Not quite sure who is picking these Friday night games but it looks like another uninspiring one, with all due respect to each team, as Brentford host Brighton to ‘get us going’ this week. In fact our TV gurus are at it again immediately on Saturday with Leicester and Palace at 12.30pm. Jeff himself will be bored stiff at 3pm with Fulham & Bournemouth and Wolves v Forest. The whole lot feels like some sick audition for Championship places next season. Whether Spurs v Everton in the late TV game will be much better remains to be seen. Maybe the TV guy played H&L this week and had 1-1 down as his treble. Sunday carries the most games not on gamstop UK this week with 5, although rather frustrating...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 10

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 10 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 10 A strange old GW this one, certainly in terms of timings. For starters Saturday is odd as we begin at 3pm, and we have 4 of those for Jeff, with Bournemouth hosting Leicester, Wolves going to Chelsea, Man City most likely putting the finishing touches to Ralph the Saint’s coffin and Newcastle welcoming Bournemouth. Brighton and Spurs see out a fleetingly fast Saturday at 5.30pm. Sunday is more of a marathon with essentially 7 hours of football on offer if you can stomach it. There are 2 at 2pm with Palace v Leeds and West Ham v Fulham. The Super Sunday slot is filled by Arsenal & Liverpool at 4.30pm. The strange timings see us continue beyond our usual threshold though with Everton hosting Man United at 7...[Read More]
