FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 6

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 6 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 6 We are back again, we hope you used your 37 hours since Gameweek 5 finished wisely! Gameweek 6 is tightly condensed into just 2 days with Saturday doing the heavy lifting here with no fewer than 8 games. It begins with the Merseyside derby at 12:30pm and then Jeff will be in his element with 6 of the buggers to get his teeth into at 3pm; Brentford welcome Leeds, Chelsea and West Ham continue the derby theme, Palace go very north to Newcastle, Forest hope Bournemouth will be easier than facing Haaland, Spurs and Fulham also have a bit of a derby and Saints go to Wolves. Gerrard may have damage limitation on his mind as they welcome City in the late one at 5:30pm. That leaves just the 2 on Sunday then with Leicester goi...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 5

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 5 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 5 The first midweek gameweek of the season and our matches are spread across three nights with a 6pm deadline on Tuesday (if you’re only just finding this out here, you’ve probably already missed it!). Two matches kick off at 7.30pm with Fulham hosting Brighton at the Cottage and a London Derby between Crystal Palace and Brentford. Chelsea go to Southampton for a 7.45pm kick off and then fifteen minutes later Leeds welcome Everton – where Frank Lampard is sure to get a raucous welcome after ‘Spygate’, which is rarely often forgotten. Wednesday brings us five games across the same kick off pattern as Tuesday where we find Arsenal playing Aston Villa, Wolves heading to Bournemouth, City sharp...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 4

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 4 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 4 All of our games are crammed into two days for GW4, predominantly because GW5 then begins on Tuesday before GW6 does likewise on Saturday. It’s a bit of a whirlwind week. As a result we have no less than 7 games on Saturday beginning with a revived Man Utd going to Saints at 12:30pm. We then have five 3pm games with Brentford welcoming Everton, Leeds making the long trip to Brighton, Chelsea hosting Leicester, before the big two of Kopp and Pep are both at home to Bournemouth and Palace respectively. Arsenal and Fulham see us out in the late game. Sunday has the now traditional two lots of 2pm games with Villa v West Ham and Wolves v Newcastle before Forest and Spurs clash in the prime time slot at 4:30pm. The g...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 3

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 3 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 3 Gameweek 3 is upon us and we have the second ‘normal’ Saturday morning deadline in a row. The bell will go at 11am on Saturday ahead of the will he won’t he Perisic ‘news’ as Spurs welcome Wolves to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Four matches follow at the traditional 3pm slot as Palace v Villa (or Vieira v Gerrard if you like this sort of frame) takes place at Selhurst Park. Everton v Nottingham Forest has a real flavour of the 90s to it, whilst a West London derby by the river takes place as Brentford travel the 6 miles to Fulham. Leicester City v Southampton is the final one at 3pm. ‘9 NIL’ There I said it, now let’s move on. Bournemouth will be praying that Jesus isn...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 2

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 2 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 2 GW1 went off sans drama, no last-minute cancellations, no Covid drop-outs, no ad-hoc midweek games, no nothing really. And GW2 begins roughly a week later. Dare we say we could almost be back to normality?* *touches wood, wishes on a stray eyelash and looks for a four-leaf clover As for GW2 itself, we begin with two GW1 losers as Villa welcomes Everton at 12:30 That’ll be a cracker… If you are still awake at 3 pm, then there are actually some intriguing encounters to behold as Leicester goes to Arsenal. At least it is that way around or else seeing Arsenal’s players subjected to the Post Horn Gallop in training would have been almost reminiscent of a scene from Guantanamo Bay. And yes this is too goo...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 1

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 1 Welcome back! We go again, etc. As per last season Arsenal get us under way with the Friday night game. With so many Jesus owners let’s just hope they make a better fist of this one than they did the Brentford game last season. Vieira’s tenacious Palace are the hosts, what could possibly go wrong here… Onto Saturday and we have 6 games beginning with newly promoted Fulham welcoming Salah and co. in the early game. What could possibly go wrong here… We then have Jeff back in the studio at 3pm for 4 games as Bournemouth host Villa, Wolves go to Leeds, The Saudis welcome Robin Hood (what could possibly go wrong there…) and Saints go to Spurs. The late game is the Frank Lampard Derby. We then have 3 games on Sunday with a pair at 2pm...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 38

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 38 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 38 The final reckoning is upon us, both in Premier League terms and in FPL ones. The title is still (just about) up for grabs and there are a few other bits to sort out too, CL places for one, relegation for another! As for logistics this one is as simple as it gets, all games begin at 4pm on Sunday and in the blink of an eye it will all be over. Title may be won, but more importantly Mini-Leagues will be won and lost! This is possibly the most stressful day of all for FPL managers and on this particular occasion it is difficult not to think back to that infamous Aguerooooooooooooooo goal and it’s ramifications not only for the destiny of the Premier League title but the FPL one too. As some poor sod lost out on ...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 37

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 37 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 37 It’s yet another DGW, although this time will definitely be the last one this season, we all bloody well hope! It’s not quite as rangy as the one in 36 but it still has 12 games with 5 teams featuring twice and Man United not even bothering to turn up (*insert your own jokes here!). It’s an odd one as we begin on Sunday to rightly allow the Saturday limelight to fall on the FA Cup Final between Chelsea and Liverpool. It means for a packed Sabbath with Spurs and Burnley kicking us off at 12.30pm. The newly popular 2pm slot then gets a proper hammering with no less than five games, before Everton and Brentford see us out at 4.30pm. It’s then just the one on Monday as Newcastle welcome Arsenal a...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat DGW36

FPL Live Match Chat DGW36 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat DGW36 We have 16 games in total this week spanning from Saturday until Thursday with (televised) games on 5 of the next 6 days with only Monday left to take a breather (aka a quick run to the supermarket to replen on crisps and beer, and maybe also say a quick hello to the family, maybe…). We have some strange game times too with Saturday beginning at 3pm and ending up with an 7.45pm’er. Sunday is more normal with the usual raft of 2pm games followed by a tea-time one. Tuesday sees just the one, Wednesday is the busiest midweek affair with four before the NLD sees us out on Thursday. We do then get a slight break as the GW37 deadline is not until Sunday morning. The games in full… Keep track of all the action, the goals, the ta...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 35

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 35 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 35 A normal GW! 10 games, 20 teams, all playing once, begins on a Saturday and ends on a Monday and gives us space to breathe before the following one. Back to the halycon days of normality, although something catastrophic will probably happen before or during it all no doubt to disrupt our false sense of norm. In theory then Newcastle welcome Liverpool for a spanking at lunchtime on Saturday and we then have 4 games at 3pm as Palace go to Saints and Wolves entertain Brighton in two dead rubbers, Watford & Burnley discuss relegation matters, whilst Villa look to seal Norwich’s fate. We reconvene at 5.30pm to resume the title race as Man City go to Leeds. Sunday is sparse but meaningful as Everton face Chelse...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek DGW34

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek DGW34 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek DGW34 What should have been a normal GW is now another protracted one with the addition of a DGW for both Chelsea and Man Utd meaning that we go all the way through until Thursday once more. We begin on Saturday with Arsenal hosting the aforementioned United at 12.30pm before Villa go to Leicester at 3pm along with Man City extending their lead at the top of the league (and probably their goal difference too) against Watford and Newcastle making the long trip to Norwich, for seemingly no good reason. Saturday then ends with Brentford welcoming Spurs at 5.30pm. Sunday sees a buch of 2pm games again with Brighton v Saints, Burnley v Wolves and Chelsea v West Ham. Liverpool will claw City back at 4.30pm, doubtless alon...[Read More]

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 33

FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 33 Welcome to FPL Live Match Chat Gameweek 33 We arrive at Gameweek 33 and it’s yet another big doubler with no less than 7 teams appearing twice across the next six days. We start shortly with Tottenham hosting a Brighton side fresh from a creditable win in this neck of the North London woods. This would be a big statement from Spurs over Arsenal in the race for fourth if they comfortably take care of Brighton as they did Villa. At 3pm, we have games at Manchester United; who play Norwich, Southampton; who welcome Arsenal and Watford who host Brentford. There is no Saturday evening game in the league as attention turns to Manchester City v Liverpool Part II, this time in the FA Cup semi final, which was supposed to be later but has been brought forward d...[Read More]
