Manchester United Revives Premier League Suspense Last Sunday, Manchester City broke their streak of 21 victories in all competitions by losing their match (at home) against Manchester United (0-2) who have only 11 points left. Ahead of his neighbour. A penalty weighed down the SkyBlues from the first minute. A Twist in The Derby At the thirty-fifth second of play, there was a dramatic turn between the most offensive players: Gabriel Jesus made an unnecessary foul on Anthony Martial and offered the visitors a penalty that Bruno Fernandes transformed despite Ederson, who touched the ball. Shaw, on a recovery error from Cancelo (4th), then Rashford, from twenty meters (16th) again threatened City’s goal, before the SkyBlues, finally awake, stormed the very dense defence of the Reds Dev...[Read More]
FPL Ramblings Welcome to FPL Ramblings: Here we go again, another game-week and another ramble. Don’t worry though this is unlikely to become a weekly edition, as I am unreliable as heck. There were a couple of things that struck me this GW, probably none that are relevant to what you care about. I noticed that Lloris is not very coordinated when it comes to heading. That Sterling does run like Velma (Scooby-doo character) as someone pointed out on twitter. Liverpool mids take turns trolling us, that Alexis was obviously going down the middle Panenka style. That KdB is interesting, considering their fixtures and Jesus is worth getting excited about until you reach the FPL site. Oh and Costa…sorry, the words I have for him would get edited out, so I won’t bother. That edit...[Read More]
FPL Ramblings Welcome to FPL Ramblings: Hey look, the site needed someone to distract readers for a day and obviously there was only one person for the job. The master of disguise and king of saying a lot while actually saying nothing. With no Monday games, we needed a filler article and I am like a good lazy substitute teacher. I only do enough to keep my job and not a bit more because I don’t want to raise expectations. So what to talk about? Well, there were a couple of things that caught my eye and I am sure some that caught yours also. Let’s talk about what interests me, I am selfish like that. Crouchy standing tall, Defoe the ageless wonder, Heaton the bonus point machine, Spurs and their magnificent three and other stuff that pops into my head as we go along. FPL is not ...[Read More]
Game-week 24 Review Newcastle 0-3 Sunderland Things didn’t go to plan at St James’s Park as Sunderland were comprehensive winners in their third successive derby win over Newcastle. The result moves the Black Cats further clear of the relegation zone and means that the Toon have only one win from their last seven games. Fabio Borini gave the Black Cats the lead on 19 minutes from the penalty spot after Vurnon Anita’s clumsy challenge on Phil Bardsley. Adam Johnson, who is in a great run of form doubled the lead 5 minutes later when a deflection took Jack Colback’s shot away from Newcastle goalkeeper Tim Krul and Johnson did the rest to notch his sixth goal in the last four league games. Although Newcastle put up a fight in the second half the games was over when the ever impres...[Read More]
