Champions League Fantasy Football 2014/15

Champions League Fantasy Football 2014/15
This seasons Champions League kicks off for proper on Tuesday evening and as ever there is a fantasy game to accompany it! Many of our members played last season and enjoyed this immensely. We left it mainly on the discussion boards but this season we have decided to embrace it given how popular it was and as such we have our very own FF247 league set-up and awaiting members! If you haven’t played it previously you will be pleased to know that it is very much the same format as our beloved FPL with an element of UFPL ‘stick or twist’ thrown in for good measure. We have given below a basic guide to the game itself, a few of the rules, the link to the site itself anf the FF247 league code. If you have any more questions please post them in the comments as there are many members who have played this game alraedy and will be only too willing to help you along and of course ‘rate my teams’ will be welcome and answered as per usual…

The Basics
A squad of 15 is required as per FPL. The scoring is pretty much identical with the exception that there are no bonus points added after the game and also there is this – ‘Every five recovered balls (clearances completed and/or successful tackles made) = 1 point’. So not much difference at all. The big difference is the UFPL ‘twist’ we referred to in the intro. Basically each week is split into two ‘match days’ – Tuesday and Wednesday. The idea is that you should put all of your Tuesday players on the pitch and see how they perform. Then prior to the Wednesday deadline, which is kick off time of the first game, you can replace any Tuesday players with Wednesday ones if you feel they will do better and even pick a new captain if your Tuesday one bombed. Dead simple! The rules copied from the site itself explain it in more detail as per below –

FF247 Champions League Tips

Transfers
Transfers are unlimited up until kick off on the first day. It’s then one per week as normal until the knock out stages and then you get a wildcard and a few opportunities after that to make six transfers at each subsequent stage.

Our BIG advice on transfers and deadlines in general would be to check out the start time of the GW each week. It’s easy to assume that it is 19.45pm British time each week as 95% of the games start then but those pesky Russian’s get in the way occasionally and a lot of their kick off’s are at 17.45pm so please take our advice and check beforehand!

Brilliant, can’t use the UEFA site and I have no time to set anything up tomorrow. FFS. At best I’ll be home at 7PM. sad

Impossible to create a good team even if the site is f-ing up (which I doubt it will be, as it stands now).

Ok, still can’t login. Have to give up for tonight and really don’t see how I can grab together a proper team tomorrow. Sorry @ chopper. I’ll see what I can do but it’s unlikely at the moment.

Anyway, if I do manage to get a team could you leave the info for the doubles thing here? Or whatever. Never played UCL before so really don’t know where to start. The site is so annoying I doubt I even want to though, sighs.

      Now off. Cya later guys.

Completely forgot Hull was playing tonight. Lol.
Hull vs WHU is 2-2 after 60 somewhat minutes. Hmmm, the travelling hippo should be a happy man since his ”main homie” scored. Abel Hernandez. Anyway, no CS and I see Chester is still a benchwarmer, wow.
