    Gents,

I assume if you had giroud as cappo you will be changing?

    OriginalRambo says:

That was outrageous from Payet, be surprised to see him still playing for the Hammers next year!

I had Giroud captain so can I now say captain Alli and still change it to Gomez and then Ronaldo on Tuesday if needs be or can we only change captain and subs once?

    Kop Warrior says:

Do France have another LB in the squad? Evra was a liability tonight.

    Kruzcampo says:

22 off 3 with Giro as skip. Will spin Loris for Rui but stick with the rest with the other being Payet.

Live points showing for anyone? Not showing on mobile. I’ve no internet again (!) so can’t get on desktop.

Do people think FPL can change next season or in the future to make players like Kante ‘pick-able’. Incredible all season and the best player on the pitch again tonight but I doubt anyone here has him or had him all year during the Prem. Would be good to see but might be too hard to gauge and score correctly…

I think if they gave points for defensive play then maybe more defensive midfielders will get picked.

      • OriginalRambo says:

Yeah thats what I’m getting at Matt. With Leicester this year for example people had Vardy, Mahrez and a defender or Schmeichel. Would have made everything a lot more interesting if Kante / Drinkwater were able to effect points week in week out. Would less template teams and a lot more to think about but its probably not worth the work.

      inittowinit says:

He’s why MLS do the bonus points like they do. Well not specifically him but that reason – to award all round play a bit more. He’d have picked up 3 or 4 bonus tonight just for passing and interceptions. The sooner we move to that system the better.

      • Kop Warrior says:

Previous McDonalds games used such a scoring system. Not sure why they stopped.

      • OriginalRambo says:

Here, here. Will benefit those who take it more serious even more, which means more prize money smile … one day!

      • MattX says:

Rambo this is what I was meaning to say in MLS you get points for defensive work so if the FPL can adopt that system it would make defensive players much more attractive. Only thing the would effect that would then be the price. I imagine if defensive mids got more points then they wouldn’t really be able to be priced at 5.5 or less so that would probably increase prices of attacking players too.

        • inittowinit says:

Just makes the game more interesting all round for me. More points = more excitement = more interest. Not sure if you caught the MLS podcast but that’s what I was getting at on there. Got the impression that they wanted the game to mirror ours whereas everyone I speak to over here who’s played both wants ours to follow theirs! I think they see the 3.7 million users and get seduced wrongly into thinking it’s because our game is better. It isn’t.

        • I wouldn’t mind the bonus points system changing in FPL to reflect that of the MLS – but having the standard roster with budget – and having a VC – need to be brought into the MLS side.

My personal opinion is that bonus points can only be a benefit if they’re easy to understand – and neither format has done a good job of making that easy to understand yet. FPL, for example, has the BPS tally. But if you want to see how that tally was achieved you’d have to go back and do some math. FMLS, on the other hand, doesn’t go far enough into translating what the bonus points represent – and more importantly, the bonus points aren’t detailed at all once they become archived data.

If they could just borrow from daily fantasy and list each point to each action…we’d really have something.

        • MattX says:

Yeah like if both FPL and FMLS could provide use with a list of what actions get what points such as blocked shots, interceptions, shot on target, successful cross etc it would make the BPS system much easier to understand. Maybe the people in charge of both sites could get together or atleast look at each others websites and combine the best aspects to make their relative sites better.

        • inittowinit says:

Knew we’d get Guy to participate on a none MLS article one day laugh

Matt, that’s the odd thing – it’s the exact same people who run both!

        • MattX says:

So at least the Euros has been successful in some way laugh

Ah you serious!! Then why make the games so drastically different? I’m guessing the people who run the sites are European, maybe they made the FMLS game have a higher way of scoring because the felt the MLS was a poorer quality.

        • inittowinit says:

Aye, aye! No need for the 2 footed challenge Matt! smile

        • MattX says:

Yeah I was mixing them up with the Slovaks tomorrow so I don’t need to swap Kos now.
