Euro 2016 Fantasy Football Live Match Chat – The Knockout Phase
Just as the UK votes on a possible Brexit, the group stages at Euro 2016 have been completed with some unfortunates already on their way home, while all the Home Nations secured to Remain for a while longer as England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland all qualified for the round of 16. You will notice a few changes to the fantasy game, so please allow us to run you through them so you are fully up-to-speed.
Price changes – some players price has increased, but only by a minimal amount it would appear. For example Dimitri Payet’s price has risen from 8.0mln to 8.1mln!! So, nothing to get too worried about.
As a result, your budget has increased by 5mln to 105mln, which not only reflects the price changes but also the fact that most of the smaller teams and cheaper players are no longer available due to them being knocked out, hence there are less budget options available.
Transfers – for this round you have an unlimited amount of transfers. For the quarter-finals you will have 4 free transfers, for the semi-finals you will have 6 free transfers and for the final you will have 6 free transfers.
Team personnel – you can now select four players from a single team for the round of 16, followed by five players for the quarter-finals, six for the semi-finals and eight for the final.

Boom or bust, Wildcard played! Not one to copy for the faint hearted but this is what I’m going with barring any last minute changes due to line-ups. Basically, if Poland, Wales, Italy and Iceland all progress then I’m screwed! The points will be low and I’ll have no team next round…
Hey Init,
Ozil survives after that dreadful penalty and his general woeful performances? I would cut him loose. Thought Florenzi played very well for Italy against Spain. Also Ramsey could be considered.
I will consider both mate, thank you.
Assuming their German Visa’s come through in time for the game
Haha.
I think it’s about spreading the chips just now. Not entirely, but just where you can. Especially if you’re on a WC.
Can’t back against Italy with any confidence just now and Poland could beat an unflattering Portugal. Wouldn’t consider that to be that big a shock.
Four transfers for me I think just to get rid of my fallers – Strinic, Pique, Perisic and Kane.
I like it and I also believe the best strat at this point is to bet on teams going forward instead of spreading too much. It’s boom or bust as you say but going too conservative here means having players playing against each other and We all know how that ends fantasy wise. That being said I dont carry my WC anymore so I’ll still feature an italian but the rest is very similar to yours regarding teams selected.
Thanks DMC, glad you see the strategy, odd as it may be in relation to future chances if it goes tits up! This is where the luck / judgement thing runs a thin line.
Are those Portugal def picks safe? Going to sleep now so won’t respond until tomorrow.
Guerreiro is, unless he has a set back. Cedric should, but we need to see the lineup here.
Init
I absolutely see the strategy you are trying to use no doubt. My point is I’d rather have the WC to fix it if it went, well you know, bust! Appreciate it could be hard to build towards it but I have managed to collect four Germans by this stage as an example.
So far i haven’t seen anywhere i can use my WC so i’ve still got mine
Photek, make a couple of transfers and before confirming the “Play Wildcard” option should appear on the top left of your team.
It won’t appear until you are in a position whereby your transfers would result in a hit.
i did take a hit in the 2nd game week but i didn’t notice it then.
Not to worry, i’ve already used 2 transfers, i’ve got 2 more to go before i get to hit territory.
Cheers guys

Hey Silvers
Marc Wilmots (manager) on Hazard.
“He’s working with the physios and he should be 100 per cent on Thursday.”
The game is Friday so I’m sure he’ll be fine.
It was Wilmots actual words don’t be surprized if Hazard doesn’t start , they where interviewing him , could be mind games.
He’ll start…..Wilmots loves a wind up
Are we sure that Big Rom will start after batshuayi had a great cameo the other day?
No Hector in the predicted German line up either?
Hammers, I think Hector is ill and has missed training, but his place in danger for the qf.
Not sure on Lukaku.
Another bloody problem now Hector might not start ????
The more chaos the better, Silvers!
I would appreciate any help with my team
Not a huge amount to do there Waltine. Replace your sub keeper and maybe switch that Polish defender to a cheap French one.
Ok thanks. Whose your best bet? Griezmann or Lukaku?
I’ve gone Griezmann
Ok what does this look like answers on a post card
Strong team there silvers.
Here’s my effort for today cookie btw! Boom or bust as someone said!
