Euro 2016 Fantasy Football Live Match Chat – The Knockout Phase
Just as the UK votes on a possible Brexit, the group stages at Euro 2016 have been completed with some unfortunates already on their way home, while all the Home Nations secured to Remain for a while longer as England, Wales, Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland all qualified for the round of 16. You will notice a few changes to the fantasy game, so please allow us to run you through them so you are fully up-to-speed.
Price changes – some players price has increased, but only by a minimal amount it would appear. For example Dimitri Payet’s price has risen from 8.0mln to 8.1mln!! So, nothing to get too worried about.
As a result, your budget has increased by 5mln to 105mln, which not only reflects the price changes but also the fact that most of the smaller teams and cheaper players are no longer available due to them being knocked out, hence there are less budget options available.
Transfers – for this round you have an unlimited amount of transfers. For the quarter-finals you will have 4 free transfers, for the semi-finals you will have 6 free transfers and for the final you will have 6 free transfers.
Team personnel – you can now select four players from a single team for the round of 16, followed by five players for the quarter-finals, six for the semi-finals and eight for the final.

So, Mourinho’s first presser at United has taken place. The main parts for us….
Rooney will not be a deep-lying midfielder, but will play higher up the pitch…..
United have 4 targets and three are in (Zlatan, Bailly and Micky the Armenian) – the fourth won’t be an end-of-August signing but will hopefully be sorted soon……we shall see who that is. But Jose says he will be signing specialists, not multi-functional players….

If you believe the press then Pogba is the 4th. I’m sure he is a target, but whether they can make that happen I don’t know. I think a midfielder will be the priority – it’s what United have been desperately in need of since Scholes left.
Silvers, they have brought this Bailly character and have Shaw back from injury don’t forget. Midfield is the prioirty, without doubt……a truly world class midfielder who can boss the game and give some leadership.

I seen that today but I’ve seen all summer that Pogba will be making the switch to Real so I’m not sure United will get him. Don’t really know any other player that would fit in at United.

I guess time will tell Matt – I think Real will get Pogba if they truly want him and are willing to pay for him. From what I understand Zidane wants him and Perez isn’t convinced and they’d have to sell the likes of Kroos and James to afford it. We shall see.

That’s very true the lure of Madrid is pretty strong. I think Perez will change his mind fairly quickly if the fans want Pogba. Selling James would be a good move I think buying him was probably the most pointless transfer ever and for such a massive price as well. I don’t really know who would buy him or Kroos maybe PSG but they seem to be going about there business to buy some smaller players this summer. Not really big names so maybe Emery doesn’t want players that come with big egos.

Milik and Witsel out as well but I can’t decide who is best to bring in for them. I have 20.7 mil left to spend so right now I’m thinking Muller/Greizmann/Giroud for the forward spot and them maybe Allen for the Midfield spot. What do you think?

Hey Matt, don’t see the point of Allen – you may as well get Renato Sanches. Griezmann would win my vote for the striker spot for you.

Allen is in there because I only have 2 Welsh and don’t want to shoot myself in the foot if Wales get through. Plus I already have Joao Mario so wasn’t entirely sure if double Port was good. Greizmann was the player I was leaning towards as well mainly because I don’t know who will start up top for Germany.

Yeah that is very true. Ramsey would be one of my FTs if they manage to get through. So which mid would you get, Matuidi or Renato Sanchez?

Prob Renato or Kroos, if affordable. You can always ramp up your Frenchies if they beat Germany. Having 4 French and 4 Germans (if you get Kroos) means you are well placed and hedged for whoever wins that close encounter and you can just top up four French or German for the final and add the rest in from Portugal (hopefully) or Wales (urgh).

Kroos is already one of my transfers so that brings me to 3 Germans so I could bring in another German in midfield it would just mean having 3 German midfielders but that seems like overkill.

Yeah I looked after and the only game he didn’t start was the Itaky game and didn’t play at all against the Northern Irish but he should start so I’ll take the risk with him.

Hey NIN yes thk it’s going to be an interesting season I thk we will be changing more players this season with so many quality players so follow the fixtures maybe , I like the look of this new signing for MU his stats are very good.

Haha, well, when i realized the draw was vs Iceland i assumed i was dine for in our bet so i had decided on either Fuchs or Smalling.
No idea how we’re gonna pick the starting squad. A complete change of strategy might be in order but that can lead to over thinking it and then fudging up as we know. Shoot first, aim later 😉

If you go up a few posts you’ll see that I’ve gone with Drax, Kroos and Ozil. On second look of your team I’d suggest Matiudi.
