Euro U21's Competition, Potty Style! Thanks for reading Euro U21’s Competition, Potty Style!

Good Evening and welcome to the launch of my Summer Competition. Given as UEFA have left all us good fantasy folk stranded with no actual competition to play I thought I would step forward to try and fill the void a bit with my own little competition, just to keep us entertained. The competition is based on the Under 21 European Tournament which starts on Friday 16th June. Screw UEFA then, let’s get on with it…

Your aim is to gather as many points as possible, its that simple.
Follow this link to the UEFA site to find all you need to know when selecting your men who’ll hopefully bring you European Glory (then click on the Under 21 tab).

Lets Play ‘Its A Pre-Tournament Gamble’

The Rules.
A – Select 5 players from any position you wish.
B – Highlight one as your Captain (C) for double points.
C – Your men may come from just one of the Under 21 teams or a pick and mix from any.
D – Your five man team must be picked ahead of the tournament starting, hence its all a Potty gamble.
E – There will be two groups which I’ll draw on Monday at 9pm, with the top four after the group stage is complete making the semi-finals stage.

The Potty Points System!!!!
All your players will gain points as follows…

Appearance (and even off the bench) = 15pts
Goalkeeper/Defender cleansheet = 25pts
Goalkeeper/Defender conceeding = -10pts per goal
Any player making an assist = 20pts per assist
Any player scoring = 30pts per goal
Yellow or Red Card flashed = -5pts & -8pts respectively.

Now pick your 5 star men from these teams…

Poland
England
Slovakia
Sweden
FYR Macedonia
Portugal
Serbia
Spain
Czech Republic
Italy
Denmark
Germany

The 1st part of the competition, and your 5 picks as per above, are for the group stages only. You will get to pick a different squad after that but stay tuned for details should you qualify that far.

So do a wee bit of research then post those men of yours below.
Cheers my dears x
Potty

Nice to have you back mate! When’s the big day? You’re missing out on this euro lark, miss your RMT’s!!

      • inittowinit says:

Funny that isn’t it. The distinct lack of any Euro RMT’s when it’s such a small and competitive league….

        • Rosco77 says:

Ha ha I did think that! We’re all obviously taking it very seriously!!

        • inittowinit says:

I must admit I love these mini summer tournaments from a fantasy perspective. Doesn’t matter if it’s a WC or this. In some respects this is even better as it takes a bit more research. This ones been a tad less interesting than the last because there’s been a few more ‘obvious’ names but it’s still good.

      • Mitro says:

        Alright my San!!

Big day is next Sunday! Starting to shit myself to be honest! Really thought she wouldn’t go through woukd have preferred to have spent the money on a dunster log cabin for the garden 😉

Don’t you worry about the RMTs, I will make up for it in the next couple of weeks….

        How you been mate?

        • Rosco77 says:

Ha ha it’ll be mint mate! Def one of my best days, it’s the one day you can interrupt any conversation and your guests are not only obliged to talk to you but feel honoured… and I’ve never had more drinks bought for me in a single night… hammered!!
I’m good mate, enjoying this euro lark and looking forward to the prem starting and obviously having ‘the toon’ back there makes me feel part of it again..I’ll regret that when we’re getting humped every week!!

        • Mitro says:

It’s the talking in front of everyone that is getting me nervous, don’t get me wrong once I’ve had a few beers I will be fine but I can’t do that until we are all sitting down!

Fingers crossed it goes well need the weather to be decent as we are getting married on this little lake! The weather is currently showing rain lol!!

        • inittowinit says:

You’re getting married on a lake?!

Yours is the easy speech mate. Thank you after thank you. No pressure. Put reminder bullet points on a small card. Dead easy. It’s the best man who should be crapping it!

        • Best man is a piece of piss.

I’ve already been twice and I’ve been asked again for one next year.

Take the piss out of someone? Doddle!

        • inittowinit says:

I’ve seen enough fail to know it’s one to dread mate! I’ve only done it once. Had a full PowerPoint presentation with embarrassing (ish) pics so it was fairly easy and went down a storm. Got it on DVD too which is sweet. It’s certainly the one presentation I dreaded the most ever though.

        • Mitro says:

          Init

Yeah the place we are getting married at has this man made lake with bit of a pavilion! It looks amazing!

        • inittowinit says:

Just checked it mate and they’re ploughing HS2 through it on Wednesday :hippo: 😉

Sounds lovely. Expecting some pics once it’s done. Lake and lots of druken people : expecting some accidents too smile

        • I was apprehensive to start with Init but settled pretty quickly. Best man to my best mate and my (now) brother in law. Been asked again for another friend for next year.

Your honeymoon was in Kenya?? No joke. Ours was too. Mombasa in 2010!

        • inittowinit says:

Yep we did Mombasa too. Safari to Tsavo East & West. 3 days in the hotel, 6 on safari, then back to the hotel for the remaining 5. Best holiday ever. Absolutely amazing. Stayed in about 7 different places in total. Luxury tents in the wilderness with wild animals brushing up against the sides of them in the middle of the night. Best experience ever.

        • That is such a coincidence. Did almost that exact itinerary for ours.

Did you get to stay in the sort of pods on stilts above the safari plain? No photos on this phone to explain what I mean sadly.

          The most amazing time.

Also heightened by the fact that on our hotel nights the 2010 World Cup in Africa was on. Such an atmosphere.

        • inittowinit says:

Yep, pods on stilts, as you put it. Sounds like it was probably pretty much the same tour of Kenya!

        • Init,

Such a coincidence. We always fancied going back for an anniversary one year.

        • inittowinit says:

I’d love to go back GP, in a heartbeat, but it’s a different place now.

      inittowinit says:

Back tomorrow in theory mate. That was causing issues too apparently. Wasn’t for me, but whatever!

        • inittowinit says:

Absolute pain in the arse without though isn’t it?!

          Hols all good?

        • Mitro says:

Yes mate! Change doesn’t help my OCD! Holiday was good the boys loved it! Couldn’t get Lucas out of the pool think one day he did nearly 6 hours solid! He was falling asleep at one point!

Got back early hours Wednesday morning and I was back into work 6 hours later so I’m feeling it today! Looking forward to my other holiday which is just under 2 weeks away with the missus and no kids!

          How you been?

        • inittowinit says:

All good here mate thank you.

Funny you say that as I have mild (self diagnosed) OCD. (Ask our IT dept and they’ll say it’s full on undiagnosed laugh ) Change doesn’t bother me one bit but I’m a creature of habit. When I’m away I miss the ‘time to yourself’ bit – this time now basically. I always go and sit in the garden at night – peace & quiet, no kids, no work etc. On hols that bit gets missed as they’re basically up until midnight with you. Then it’s straight back at it the next day. Repeat. I need some time to myself so after a week I tend to crack a bit!

That work thing is a common error – you should always take that extra day. I did this time and it makes such a difference.

Where are you off to after the big day again? We did Kenya for ours. Best holiday ever by a mile.

        • Mitro says:

We are going to phaphos for a 5 day break.. we will have a proper honeymoon once everything is settled down plus the boys are hard work at the minute so I would feel a hit guilty leaving them with the grand parents for a week! I really want to do Fiji or maybe go back to Thailand and do more of the islands!

We bought another house a couple of months back and it’s sucking the life out of our savings! I can’t believe how expensive everything is! My arse went when I got my first quote for shutter blinds and a new composite door!! My door gets put in on Tuesday and I’ve been more excited about that than the wedding lol!

I would usually take the day of but I’ve only been on this new contract since the start of June and I feel like I’m taking the Mickey by having these holidays….. I’m very passionate about my job and work, my boss couldn’t believe it when he asked me when I arrived home!!

My OCD goes through stages but it has gotten a bit worse since we moved in! I’ve turned into a proper cleaning freak smile you would probably piss yourself if I told you some of the other weird shit I do as well..

        • inittowinit says:

I doubt it mate, I’ve seen the hourly RMT’s, they should probably add that as an official symptom laugh

League Update after day 2, GW3. I think this is all updated and live anyway.

Rosco goes top. Kop crumbles under the pressure of leading. Both now still have a capo to go. Mito gets lucky from the bench but his vice did nothing for him.
