Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Game-week 18 – Fantasy Premier League 2015/16
GW18 is almost live! WAKE UP! No, seriously WAKE UP! You have 15 minutes to get your ass in gear! This is possibly the most missed deadline of the season, for obvious reasons! Anyway, whether you do wake up and find both us and the deadline in time then we hope you had a great Christmas but if you don’t, and wake up mid afternoon in a panic, then we still hope you had a great Christmas, but #FPL commiserations! Boxing Day is unique in that it has all 10 games in one day so it can be a bit hectic but the points all still count the same. Stoke (0 – 0) Man Utd kicks us off at 12.45pm, followed by an ’80’s style’ seven 3pm games and then we ease into the evening with Newcastle hosting Everton at 5.30pm and finish off your Boxing Day football bonanza (aka relaxing in front of the telly with the family, you’re not kidding us!) as Southampton host Arsenal at 7.45pm.
The important news is that the deadline for GW18 is at 11.45am on Saturday 26th December
The fixture list in full…

Evening all. Had a good GW until Everton and Arsenal played. Still got 62 all in so not too bad. Have 2FT and 2.8 ITB so want to use at least on transfer. Nothing pressing but thinking Hennessey in for McCarthy, Walcott for Delofeou or Ighalo for Vardy. Any other ideas?
All three of those sound good to be honest. Would probably say the keeper transfer is the least pressing, though I’d say to hold fire on the Vardy one until more is known. He might be ok and Man City and then Bournemouth (I think) at home are both scorable games.
SAF, if you brought in Walcott for Deul who the heck are you going to bench?!
Hennessey could work but have you the balls to bench Butland?! This transfer is actually one I’m considering for the next gameweek but not convinced about benching Butters!!
How long are you thinking of having 8 strong mids & forwards – weekly nightmare on who misses out!
Hangeland a concern too.
Hangeland is dodgy but I only ever play 3 at the back so always have a sub. Today it was Moreno! Bugger. I think have 8 strong forwards is good over the next few weeks with rotation etc and when the big names get back to fitness (Sanchez / Aguero) I’ll trade up and get them. My thoughts on Butland are exactly the same as yours. Would only be for one week and just because I have nothing else to use the FT on
Wally in for Sterling rather than Giroud for Kane? Original plan was the latter but fearing a rest for Giroud in one of these 2 games, anyone heard anything on that?
This week’s plan worked out rather well in an odd manner! On the plus side I didn’t plump for Aguero which would have meant losing Kane and Sterling. On the downside the 2 I brought in bombed (Ozil and Bellerin) but glad to have both going forward into these next 2 games. Bournemouth should play into Arsenal’s hands as they like to play a bit and that suits Arsenal perfectly. Newcastle were fairly poor today and lucky that Everton forget that the idea of all that possession and dominance doesn’t count for anything unless you penetrate too. They did well at Spurs but still think Arsenal clean them out despite today’s debacle.
Going for Wally myself, probably. Will there be a presser tomorrow? Injury and fitness updates?
There won’t be pressers Raz. Unless LVG holds an emergency one
Lvg is going for sure. Missed all the games today but just saw motd. He might step up on his own terms. Also, he said the board and players are still with him, however after this loss he said this all has changed. It’s like he decided for himself to quit.
Ps. had tablet and phone with me all time. 😉
He looked haunted in that pre-match interview today Raz. I reckon he goes on his own terms too. You don’t say those words unless you’ve seriously considered it. I’d be surprised if he doesn’t step down tomorrow.
Seems to have worked out well for you. I’m in no rush to get Aguero as. Like you said, it requires losing 1 or 2 players to get the funds. With Lukaku, Ighalo, Vardy, Kane etc all in form why take a punt. The in form players are cheap this season so putting together a good squad is easier than in the past. Walcott in seems about the only move worth it except perhaps getting rid of Begovic
Yeah Ozil & Bellend will be fine for you mate. Being a Wally owner I hope that goes swimmingly for you/us! If you buy him! Didn’t see the game tonight but assume he / they were rubbish. It’s prob worth a gamble yeah but as you know I’m not a huge Sterling fan!
I’m not either but figured I’d give him today given the opposition and I guess that worked but I’m happy to see the back of him, think that’s what I’ll be doing for Wally.
What do I do? Sell sterling? Vardy? Sort out defense?
Tough one that FDMS as nothing particularly jumps out as either needing fixing or indeed as a must have for this week that you haven’t already covered. I fancy Palace keep a cleanie so that’s Hennessey sorted, likewise in defence I’d go Dawson, Moreno and Bellerin without too much thought needed. You already have a benching issue from the front 8 and even if Vardy is actually ill then the rest takes care of itself anyway. If I was being picky given that scenario then maybe Sterling to someone else but again nobody jumps out and even if they did it’d mean deciding to bench someone else just in case Vardy doesn’t make it. You could replace Vardy himself but with who??? I think you’ve managed to #FPL snooker yourself which takes some doing
Thoughts would be highly appreciated
Butland
Ward Bellerin Moreno
Mahrez Ozil (c) Barkley KDB
Vardy Lukaku Igloo
bench- Rudd Mata Janmaat Kolarov
1 FT and 3.2mn in the bank
correction
1 FT and 3.6mn in the bank
Mata to Alli?
Kola to Toby?
Vardy to Kane?
any other?
Hi nishant, I’d play Rudd over Butland this week. As for the transfer does Mata to Wally appeal and play him over Barkley?
i fear it might be too much of Gunners mid
:/
Mata to Alli really tempts me
What to dk with Coutinho? Should I keep him or sell him? :/
Do*
Should I save FT?
Should I upgrade Coutinho?
Or should I upgrade Darlow?
1FT and 1.3itb
Snookie, save the FT
May as well play Coutinho vs Sunderland mate and then reassess.
Hey guys here is my team:
Ddg, Hennessy
Monreal, Moreno, Toby, kolarov, Davies
Ozil, kdb, mahrez, coutinho, surman
Kane, lukaku, vardy
Which of the following transfers should I do with the 1ft?
A) save ft
B) kolarov to stoke defender probably wollscheid
C) surman to Alli
D) vardy to ighalo
E) ddg to butland
Hi niloh
Surman to Alli and play Vardy – if he is missing, Alli is a good sub.
