Fantasy Football 247 Sports Quiz 2014

IntroWelcome to our FF247 Sports Quiz, which will run from January 2014 through to the end of 2014. As you can see, the quiz has been split up into months – and each question is relevant to that particular month.
Please either email contact@fantasyfootball247.co.uk with Quiz as the subject with your answers or just post them below and we will sort them out. Sorry, reposting this over here…

Hey lads, care to help out with transfer and lineup thoughts for this gw?

Should prob address Keeper situation given Davis’ return? So Boruc to Mannone/Speroni/Marshall? I could also afford Ruddy or Guzan.

Or upgrade to a better 4th mid with Silva out this week? Anyone up to 5.7.

    Gazza – Boruc
    Coleman – Mert – Bardsley – (MTurner – BTurner)
Wally – Hazard – Noble – Oviedo (Silva)
    Suarez – Lukaku – Negredo

    Colriles says:

Cheers B. Good call on Marshall. Yes, Oviedo got the start in midfiled last match even with Baines back so that’s made it a little trickier. Honestly, I’ll probably swap both he and Noble out with an early Jan WC but just wondering if it’s necessary this week.

Colriles – I have the same problem as you, mate…
      Have Gazza & Boruc…
It was a surprise to see Gazza benched after the clean sheet away at Cardiff…
I’m not sure if Davis is nailed on…

What I would do – is wait for some news from the So’ton camp/press conf – to make up my mind…
If he plays for the weekend – not worth the FT…
Even if u don’t use the VC on Jan 1st – u ll end up going into the next GW with 2 FT’s…
At the worst – yo ll spend the FT this week on a different position & player – not on a GK…

What’s everyone make of their cup opponents then?

      NIN says:

jamesimmo – My opponent has better strikers than me,i think i’ll win though, even on a -4 i should beat him, judging by his GW history there’s a good chance he takes a big hit so it’s all good either way…i hope!! How about you?

      • jamesimmo says:

NIN – factor in that his midfield is abysmal, and the fact that he has Evra and Lloris at the back who play each other, you should come out on top!

My primary concern is has Coleman (I don’t) and that he is likely to captain Suarez, whereas I am opting for Walcott – plus I’m fielding a slightly weakened side this week, with Silva and Dawson on the bench… …but in all honesty, the rest of his squad is quite unorthodox and weak, so am still fairly confident I can come out on top.

        • NIN says:

jamesimmo – I’m really surprised you don’t have Coleman, just 9 points less than Hazard so far….insane really, his price is huge now though i suppose,he’ll be 6.6m tomorrow.

        • jamesimmo says:

Huge mistake not having him. But I feel he’s too expensive now. Plus, owned by over 40%, it seems to late. When he scores, I suffer. Just like Ramsey – I never had him – for some reason these huge ‘bandwagons-come-must haves’ just pass me by. It’s my 1st serious season though so I’m learning…

…it must be to do with my stubbornness when it comes to following a transfer plan, I’m usually reluctant to change what I first had in mind, unfortunately.. laugh

        • NIN says:

I wouldn’t say Coleman was a bandwagon,a lot on here have had him since GW1,Ramsey for sure though..i put him in my team ages ago in the hope he might raise a few quid for other moves but the points kept coming, pretty lucky really.

    Tekno-kun* says:

So this is my cup opponents team:

    Miggy
    Ivan – Coleman – Merte – Fonte
    Hazard – Januzaj – Sissoko
    Hooper – Suarez – Negredo
Bench: Jones; Yaya – Shaw – Ramsey

I really think I should beat this team, the potential dangers are Yaya and Negredo, and both Miggy and Merte have CS potential. Hooper, Januzaj and Sissoko could also provide trouble, but it’s unlikely for them to outscore my Rooney, Cabaye and Walcott.

Just outside the top 1000 overall not looking to take risks…

    Mannone. Gazzaniga

    Mertz. Bardsley. Coleman. Gabbidon Baker.

    Hazard. Silva. Wally. Toure. Johnson

    Rooney. Lukaku. Suarez

    So.

    A. Play gabbidon. Bench silva.
    B. Silva to sterling
    C. silva to cabaye
    D. Silva to someone else? (Who?)
    E. Something else. (What?)

    Thanks gents!!

    Tekno-kun* says:

    Krul
    Gabbidon – Coleman – Evra
    Hazard – Cabaye – Walcott (C) – Ravel
Lukaku – Suarez (VC) – Rooney
Bench: Harper; Shaw – Burner – Silva
    1 FT, 0.1 itb

So Ravel is apparently fit to face Fulham, should I keep him in the team and hope he plays or transfer him out?

    • 24.1
      jamesimmo says:

Tekno – I took him out last week, but if he’s rumoured to be fit, and has Fulham next (who just got smashed by Hull, remember), then I would definitely stick

    • 24.2
      NIN says:

Tekno-kun* – I’d just field him and hope for the best,in fact, that’s exactly what i am doing haha.

    • 24.3
      Colriles says:

On a side note, is everyone now referring to Ben Turner as “Burner?” And does that make Michael Turner, “Murner?” I’m that lucky guy who has them both. B)

      • Tekno-kun* says:

Murner is great nickname man, sadly he isn’t owned by that many so the name will probably not be used that much, but now you have an obligation to call him Murner everytime you mention him!

    • 24.4
      Tekno-kun* says:

Thanks guys, I didn’t wanna make a transfer this week, so I guess I’ll do nothing then and hope he plays. If he doesn’t Shaw and Burner will most likely feature, so I do have cover.
