screenshot_165Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 12 article. Oh dear, 4 points below the average last week with 48 in total in what turned out to be a bit of a disaster all round with key players being rested (Sterling) and others coming up with minus points (Holebas, -2, thanks). And with both him and Smith getting themselves suspended for this week we are in a bit of a mess all of a sudden! Last week our entire defence scored just 5 points, Firmino saved our midfield blushes, and probably our gameweek with 15 but the other 3 mids got us just 7. Up top Austin and Kun pitched in with a goal each but in all it just wasn’t good enough. Overall we fell a good few places and currently find ourselves in 64,574th place, a fall of approximately 25k. Not good but not disastrous, and certainly retrievable. We wisely resisted the temptation to do any early transfers though as we wanted to see how the international break would further decimate us! Apart from the mini Sanchez scare we may have fared ok out of it. Let’s see how we decided to tackle this week then, with a distinct lack of available defenders and just 1 free transfer and £0.7m available to fix the issue…

Transfer #1: Smith to Nyom
With Amat sat doing nothing short of not much he would have been the obvious candidate to leave but we needed to consider the overall strategy, and budget wise shifting one of Smith or Holebas made more sense. Smith got the shove given his fixtures ahead. The whole deal was based upon next weeks potential transfer though as we are oogling Coutinho ahead of Sunderland at home. Quite how we don’t yet own him is anybody’s guess but we don’t and we plan to!

Our Captain is Sergio Aguero
Little explanation is needed here. Would you be surprised to log in after the event and find he destroyed Palace? No. Captain then.

  1. Surprised you have kept sterling, do you think he will start?

  2. Cech over Pickford?

    • coys,

I’m just looking at the Community Team votes (we have both goalkeepers) and it currently stands 13-12 in favour of Pickford playing. Take from that what you will but it at least shows that it is close.

Personally, I would go Pickford if I had the two. I like his save point potential even in not keeping a clean sheet (I don’t think Arsenal will). Pickford’s saving Sunderland week on week.

      • Agreed. I have both and I doubt arsenal will keep a clean sheet. Also cant see man utd not scoring at home. So I’m goin for Pickford too

  3. Good luck boys.

What a boring but sensible transfer. smile Hope the Coutinho move works out as planned. I agree that you definitely need him.

  4. Any non lukaku owners worried about him today?

  5. Real crisis situation here. 1.2ITB. Potentially a lot of non-starter.

    • upgrade one of Amat/ Lowton to a West Brom defender and you should be alright

      • +1

And I’d play Gundogan ahead of Vokes.

      • Hit for a 5th defender , worth it?

        • Looks like you would need that ‘fifth defender’ for today though so yeah maybe. Would hopefully see you having a deep squad in the run up to Christmas as well.

        • Hit can be made up if WBA keeps their CS + it increases your options in the following weeks as they have good fixtures

        • I’ve just taken a hit for Smith > Nyom. Even if Nyom doesn’t keep a clean sheet, I’ve looked at the fixtures ahead for my other defenders and think of the four-point hit spread over the next week or two. It’s been a necessary evil with how poor Bournemouth’s fixtures are.
