Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 23
Welcome to the Fantasy Football 247 Site Team Gameweek 23 article. After a run of four successive green arrows, GW23 bucked the trend as we went Code Red with a score of 48pts, 2 better than the average but not enough to help our rank which fell to 31,908 from 24,291. Still, not a shocker by any stretch of the imagination. It was Alexis who rescued our game-week as his injury-time penalty secured him 16pts – of course we were lucky in that Giroud and Ozil were off the pitch, hence Alexis taking the penalty. The only other contributions of note were an assist and 2bpts for Kyle Walker, a clean sheet for the still alive Allan-Romeo Nyom and an assist for Erik Pieters. All the rest took the week off, so fully rested we are expecting great things from the bunch of lazy gits.
Transfers for GW23 – Sold Holebas and Lallana & Bought Coleman and Alli
Sometimes we argue, sometimes we agree. Sometimes we just go on debating for hour, after hour, after hour… #zzzzz In short we could have cut this 5 different ways. We had a decent bank (Β£2.2m) and two free transfers to burn. The irony of it all after hours of debate was that Giroud was the centre of attention in terms of who he would eventually (and inevitably) be transferred out for, yet he survived this week. Even after two transfers. We do have a plan for him though. In theory.
As for this week, Holebas is suspended but that’s not really why we sold him. But it helps, as it sort of is… The guy is a bloody liability. He may as well start every week with a -1 for a yellow. Plus Watford haven’t won a game since the 10th of December. And have kept just 1 clean sheet since GW10. Everton however, and Coleman in particular, seem to have turned a corner, they have 3 clean sheets in a row now, he personally has 33 points in 3 games. Our yellow friend has just 59 points for the entire season. Bandwagon jumping? You betcha! It’s no coincidence that his uptake in points has occurred since the Toffee’s switched formation and he was suddenly employed as a wing back in a 3-5-2 formation. He was born for this. He’s always been a winger at heart, in a full backs body. He’s always been good for a goal or an assist and that was from his full back position, we expect he will get even more in his new role.
The second one was where the debate really began! Giroud to Lukaku. Giroud to Kane. Giroud to anybody… Poor old Giroud was passed around like a cheap whore. Ultimately we decided he may well shaft Watford this week so we kept him, but boy was it a hard decision. We don’t like him long term, for many reasons, but he gets a stay of execution for this one. Instead we decided to go on the offensive and buy Alli. ‘Let’s attack’ was the call. Rather than be boring and keep Lallana with a difficult game we have decided to ‘go Spurs’ and go with another in form player. Young Alli has 8 goals since GW17, Liverpool as a team have only scored 12 in that time.
“Alli is on fire, plays Sunderland with no defence due to AFCON, injury, suspension & defection”. We aren’t quite sure on the defection issue but that statement nailed it. Welcome Alli.
THE NEW TEAM IN FULL FOR GW 23
Our Captain is Alexis Sanchez
There were inital votes for Dele Alli and Zlatan before Alexis ran away with the vote with three fans selecting him. Just do us a favour Alexis and don’t leave it so late this week – a nice assist and goal in the first half will calm our nerves….and save your three fans from ridicule and torture.
If for some reason Alexis doesn’t show, then Zlatan will step up as he is our vice captain.
If anyone is interested in following the site teams progress then you can do so hereΒ and we wish you all the best of luck this week with your own teams.
Nice team, logic transfers, great ranking lads.Something irrelevant, i dont know if it s been mentioned, here in greece everyone talks for a definite transfer of Luka Milivojevi? from olympiacos fc to palace for 15 million β¬.
Teo, I was just reading that on Twitter. From what I’ve read he appears to be a defensive mid? Is he any good?
Well he is a def mid, or a box to box player, as we say, one of top players in greece league (but again this is greece league…..) BUT we have to consinder something we call value for money, olympiacos the past few years is selling players much above the real value, i don t know how.In my opinion he is too slow for EPL, and this would be obvious, i dont know if he can keep up and ?adapt to the speed of EPL.i cant shake it of my head, 15 millions; 15 millions;
I’ll avoid him so
FA Cup Fifth Round Draw
Burnley v Lincoln
Fulham v Tottenham
Blackburn v Man Utd
Sutton v Arsenal
Middlesbrough v Oxford
Wolves v Chelsea
Huddersfield v Man City
Milwall v Derby/Leicester
Safe to say GW28 is fooked!!
That’s Blackburn on telly then
Lol! Hopefully I can get tickets for our fixture – that will be a ground off the list
Brilliant draw for Sutton that. I wonder if they’ll ask to switch it? Either way I hope you put a full team out and do them 27-0
I think farnborough did the same back in the early 2000s! It would make sense for them to request it I suppose; bigger share of gate reciepts etc.
0-10 would be nice π
Did you see that BBC wanted to show Lincoln v Brighton in the last round but were basically told they had to show United?
Conspiracy theories. I love it Kops. ?
I saw GL’s tweet about it but didn’t see much beyond that. Who told them what to show?
From what I can gather it was the FA
So you pay for the rights and then have to show what they say? How’s that work again?!
All the big lads away from home and the three lowest ranked left all get Premier League teams.
That’s as good a draw as I can remember.
Agreed GP. Just what they needed. Almost like it was preordained….
The fifth round of the cup is played between 2 Europa cup ties.
Man U and Spurs will probably rest some players. Both play in local derbies.
I can see one of them coming unstuck.
Apart form that the prem league clubs should come through unscatched.
Opinions?
God help us in GW28!!
Hehe. I already have six players. Stop worrying so much.
Agreed on that, we couldn’t have asked for a worse draw on paper even if there were a lot of shocks in the last round, at least it’s not going to take much planning for I suppose, maybe only three or four players might be needed.
Not sure whether any more changes needed. Already went early to bring in Costa and pieters so any other changes will make -8 hit. Any advice. Van dijk? Cheers
Kickers, I’d leave it as. You should be able to field 11.
Next week I’d consider Coleman in for van Dijk.
Cheers kop.
Anyone think Lallana to Walcott is a good move???
I wouldn’t be willing to risk that he gets an immediate start again in the league.
I can’t see Wally starting against Watford. Wenger typically brings players back slowly and Wally played 90mins at the weekend.
Hey Pancho
Initially I was thinking of the same but the guys have a point! Suspect he will start against Chelsea on Saturday
Not for me. Now Liverpool have all their players back I expect them to come good. As the guys say I don’t expect Walcott to start this week. And then they have Chelsea away
I’m not convinced Liverpool will turn things around that quickly Smash.
+100000000000 π
We’ve will see. Problems recently. But now everyone is fit I think Liverpool will come good. Cracks appear because the squad is not good enough not the first eleven. Coutinho is looking better each game he plays. Mane is back and will bring pace back. Defence still sucks though
That’s Kane sealed for me then….
Init – You taking out Kun?
I’d have a job, I don’t own him Giroud on the block
Sorry mate for some reason I thought you had him
About time he blanked
Kane arrived
Snap!
:p
“Inittowint GW23 Captain Picks
Alexis Sanchez (Watford, home)
I had first pick this time and I went route one with Alexis. Well Iβm not going to go letting Sanchez spank me like he did last time now am I?! “
I know mate, I know! To be fair I’m actually between Kane and Alli. Just have a feeling for Kane this time.
