Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 11

Fantasy football tips fplCould’ve been better, could’ve been worse just about sums up our performance in GW10. We ended the game-week on 57 points which was 11 above the average. The accolade of weekly top scorer was shared between Tim Krul and Sergio Aguero, both of whom managed just 8 points. Our total of 57 points really was underpinned by our defence with Krul (8), Alderweireld (6), Baines (7), and Taylor who climbed off our bench also chipping in with 6 points, meaning the four of those accounted for 27 points. Moving onto our midfield and the ever dependable Cesc Fabregas pitched in with 6 points thanks to yet another assist and a solitary bonus point. Our remaining midfielders were a disappointment with Di Maria, Siggy & Tadic amassing a combined total of just 7 points. Moving onto our forward line and the returning Diego Costa who was also our captain managed a massively disappointing 4 points, while the underwhelming Danny Welbeck weighed in with 5 points thanks to an assist. Thanks to the only goal of the Manchester derby Aguero picked up 8 points but if Michael Oliver understood what a penalty was the Argentine would have had a significantly greater haul. The derby brought our interest in GW10 to a close a we had no representation in the remaining two games. Unfortunately our score of 57 points saw us slip to 2,197th in the world which is still an excellent ranking, but we set ourselves some lofty standards! We hope GW11 may see us back into the top 1k once again, at least!

Transfer for GW11

This week’s transfer meeting was one of the easiest we have had this season, one of us suggested this particular player and the rest of us agreed, if only everything in life was so simple! We can now confirm that we have;

Sold Danny Welbeck and replaced him with Diafra Sakho

The Arsenal man has been somewhat of a disappointment since we transferred him in when playing our wildcard back in GW4. In the subsequent games he scored twice & claimed two assists and we expected more from him, playing as the lone striker ahead of such a talented midfield. As we’ve already indicated, the decision to replace him with Sakho was quite an easy one. The Hammers striker has been in scintillating form of late with five goals and two assists in his last six appearances. Obviously he missed last week’s draw away to Stoke due to an injury, but he returned to full training on Thursday and we suspect and expect Big Sam will be keen to get him back into the starting XI this weekend.
The starting eleven picks itself this week. We’ve gone with Krul in goal away to West Brom as Mannone has lost his place in the Sunderland side, but it’s unlikely we’d have played him anyway as Sunderland face Everton. At the back Alan Hutton is injured while Liam Moore appears to have lost his starting spot at Leicester, so that leaves us with Baines, Alderweireld and Taylor. Once more, George Boyd is the odd man out in midfield.

Captain

Unlike the decision to transfer in Sakho, the decision on who to give the armband to led to a heated debate (argument) and some wildly inaccurate stats being hurled around the office! It was a straight choice between Angel Di Maria and Sergio Aguero. Aguero faces second from bottom QPR but City have been far from convincing as of late and QPR have showed signs of improvement. The deciding factor in the decision was Crystal Palace’s away form, in five matches away from Selhurst Park this season they have conceded 11 goals. We also feel that Palace will sorely miss their captain Mile Jedinak, while United will be desperate to get back to winning ways. The fact that ADM is also on most set pieces helps. That and no European adventures midweek swung it in his favour.

Our captain this week then is Angel Di Maria.

Our vice captain is Sergio Aguero.

      1) Chester and Duff for me. Pray for that 0-0 eh.

      2) My gut says Agüero but I’m crap at captaincy decisions.

That’s actually a good sign. After picking 9 wrong ones this GW you will have you lucky tenth. I’m certain of it. Kun Hatty.

        • jamesimmo says:

Wouldn’t that be nice! It’s true though, never captained my best player in 10 attempts, far from it usually. Also 5 blanks out of 10 and never picked a higher score than 7 points. I’d be interested to know if anyone (who plays seriously) has done worse actually! laugh

        • Raziel says:

Kun scored in all away games apart from 1. He never scored more than once though. >.< Sighs.

        • Raziel says:

However, I think City need to show some teeth tomorrow. Hoping the fact hte game is being played late sort of helps.

Love me a good Sky Sports FPL captain game to sit down watch. Always makes for added interest… well City have a big message they need to send to Chelsea tomorrow. That ‘we will try to make it close’ or something like that!

        • Raziel says:

The Telegraph and a few other newspapers are saying it will be a 1-1 game. Can’t be, can it? >.< Aaarghhhhhh. I can captain like 6 players. Terrible. sad

        • jamesimmo says:

I’d be surprised. But, in fairness, recent form supports a draw. Would back QPR to score but City will surely score 2+ in response.

        • papercut says:

so you going for Kun as well then Raz??

        • Raziel says:

After a few bad captain choices I need to get it right this time. Think City need to show something after their poor performance Wednesday. Only positive thing about that game is that they’re used to playing a late game. laugh

I think it shall be Kun, yeah. Most people will already have played their Caps and mine will still get on, I always like that.

Someone have some compassion and throw a captain question or RMT or something. They got me watching Dora the explorer as of this moment.
