Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 11

Fantasy football tips fplCould’ve been better, could’ve been worse just about sums up our performance in GW10. We ended the game-week on 57 points which was 11 above the average. The accolade of weekly top scorer was shared between Tim Krul and Sergio Aguero, both of whom managed just 8 points. Our total of 57 points really was underpinned by our defence with Krul (8), Alderweireld (6), Baines (7), and Taylor who climbed off our bench also chipping in with 6 points, meaning the four of those accounted for 27 points. Moving onto our midfield and the ever dependable Cesc Fabregas pitched in with 6 points thanks to yet another assist and a solitary bonus point. Our remaining midfielders were a disappointment with Di Maria, Siggy & Tadic amassing a combined total of just 7 points. Moving onto our forward line and the returning Diego Costa who was also our captain managed a massively disappointing 4 points, while the underwhelming Danny Welbeck weighed in with 5 points thanks to an assist. Thanks to the only goal of the Manchester derby Aguero picked up 8 points but if Michael Oliver understood what a penalty was the Argentine would have had a significantly greater haul. The derby brought our interest in GW10 to a close a we had no representation in the remaining two games. Unfortunately our score of 57 points saw us slip to 2,197th in the world which is still an excellent ranking, but we set ourselves some lofty standards! We hope GW11 may see us back into the top 1k once again, at least!

Transfer for GW11

This week’s transfer meeting was one of the easiest we have had this season, one of us suggested this particular player and the rest of us agreed, if only everything in life was so simple! We can now confirm that we have;

Sold Danny Welbeck and replaced him with Diafra Sakho

The Arsenal man has been somewhat of a disappointment since we transferred him in when playing our wildcard back in GW4. In the subsequent games he scored twice & claimed two assists and we expected more from him, playing as the lone striker ahead of such a talented midfield. As we’ve already indicated, the decision to replace him with Sakho was quite an easy one. The Hammers striker has been in scintillating form of late with five goals and two assists in his last six appearances. Obviously he missed last week’s draw away to Stoke due to an injury, but he returned to full training on Thursday and we suspect and expect Big Sam will be keen to get him back into the starting XI this weekend.
The starting eleven picks itself this week. We’ve gone with Krul in goal away to West Brom as Mannone has lost his place in the Sunderland side, but it’s unlikely we’d have played him anyway as Sunderland face Everton. At the back Alan Hutton is injured while Liam Moore appears to have lost his starting spot at Leicester, so that leaves us with Baines, Alderweireld and Taylor. Once more, George Boyd is the odd man out in midfield.

Captain

Unlike the decision to transfer in Sakho, the decision on who to give the armband to led to a heated debate (argument) and some wildly inaccurate stats being hurled around the office! It was a straight choice between Angel Di Maria and Sergio Aguero. Aguero faces second from bottom QPR but City have been far from convincing as of late and QPR have showed signs of improvement. The deciding factor in the decision was Crystal Palace’s away form, in five matches away from Selhurst Park this season they have conceded 11 goals. We also feel that Palace will sorely miss their captain Mile Jedinak, while United will be desperate to get back to winning ways. The fact that ADM is also on most set pieces helps. That and no European adventures midweek swung it in his favour.

Our captain this week then is Angel Di Maria.

Our vice captain is Sergio Aguero.

Hey Mito. An rmt would be much appreciated. And captain pick: between Pelle and Aguero (ADM is more risky imo).

    Forster
    Baines, Clyne, Dummett
    Fab, Sig, Di Maria, Sanchez
    Aguero, Pelle, Sakho.

    1.2 itb.

    Whadya think?

Hello all, so are your teams set? Final decision on captains made? Still feel ‘naked’ without Sanchez in my team, and its getting chilly! smile

    Evening / Morning all,

Struggling big time with my team.

Started the week dead set on getting Downing and Pelle in for Welbs and one of my mids.

Now I want Sanchez AND Wally. I think. Going round in circles.

Someone talk some sense into me before I take a minus 12 or something!!

    Thank you!

Chins, me ol’ mucka how are you? Well our teams are well and truly different this season anyway (actually not that different, I have 7!) Team is solid pal, personally i’d drop Haz and for Sanchez and Mane/Siggy for Dwning Welbeck for Sakho. DO any of those transfers tickle your fancy?

      • That paragraph has so many grammatical errors its a joke. Did you catch my drift?

        • chins says:

Yep – Got it!! Thanks. And sorry – Meant to open with congrats on your ranking! Great work mate. Really pleased for you and will be hoping the rise continues!!

      • chins says:

        Hi mate!
I’m good thanks. After 5 months of being unemployed, I turned a job down today! Weird feeling I can tell you. How can I make time to work when I have all these fantasy decisions to make!?
Anyway… I like those suggestions. – Thanks! I was thinking Haz to Oscar and then struggling to fit Sanchez in too. Might accept that Costa is all the Chelski cover I need and do the straight Haz to Sanchez switch instead.
I want to keep Mane I think. At least for another 2 weeks. Welbs can probably do one. So yeah, might look into Sakho too.
        Thanks a lot mate.

        • Chins, I loved that sentence; After 5 months of being unemployed, I turned a job down today. I was fully getting ready to go GREAT news on the job but no. What was the job and why did you tell them to do one?

I like Oscar too, I may downgrade Fab to get Sanchez in. My other thinking is Walcott looked excellent when he cam on so I may just get him in. Its way easier as hes over 1.5 cheaper!
If you can do Haz to Sanchez as a straight swap id do it and safe the other trade for after the international break. Or use your transfer to tidy up some of the red people in your team.

Thanks for that mate, to be honest im not really sure how I keep sneaking up the rankings but im not complaining smile How are you going?

        • chins says:

I’m just inside the top 27k mate. Not too bad but the guy top of the big money league I really care about is frikkin 8th in the world! Soooo annoying. I came second last year and I was really hoping to go one better. Oh well. Marathon not a sprint and all that…

Yeah, the job thing was a bit weird. I always knew it’d be hard to turn something down after a long time out, but it just wasn’t right for me. A bit too IT / techy for my liking / skillset. I could’ve given It a go I suppose, but hopefully something else will come up soon. I promised myself I wouldn’t jump at the first thing that came along, I just didn’t think it would take quite this long to find something! Oh well. At least I get to spend more time with the kids, which is amazing and I wouldn’t swap it for anything.

Anyway… I better try and get this transfer thing sorted. Can’t afford Haz to Sanchez without freeing up some cash elsewhere. I’ll come up with something. Maybe go early on Wally. Thinking Welbs might do better with Wally bombing down the wing firing across balls for him. Dunno. This is tough….

Anyway, thanks mate!! I’ll let you get on with your day!

        • Chins, good luck with job and transfers mate.

Flingy caught crap last season for talking up Oscar over Haz last season. About this time last year Oscar went into the shitter. If you don’t learn from Flingy’s past you are bound to repeat it. He also said Theo was fine and he proceeded to be out for two months after Flingy announced his being ready to go. If you don’t learn from Flingy’s past you………

        • chins says:

Any other life lessons I can learn from Flingys past??! 😉

Any tips on my team Mito?

        • Mito, that has certainly jogged my memory, Oscar is out!! Walcott however I like. A lot. and he was great in his last game (all 10 minutes of it ;)) How are you anyway mate?

        • Mito21 @FantasyFooty247 says:

Flingy doesn’t crap about cars and I do mean crap. So learn about that.

I moved S&S today, so it be hypocritical of me to advice otherwise. I got Sakho and Sanchez. Obviously Haz and Johnny boy are the candidates for sale. Oh and get a respectable keeper you bum.

Alex I am doing great mate, loving some of the free time I have gotten recently. Has allowed me time to come on the site to convey some great advice like the one I just gave to Chins. 😉 I missed the place.

        • Mito, who did you ditch and a 4 ph? Glad to hear your well pal! smile

        • Mito21 @FantasyFooty247 says:

NZ, I dropped the couple known as Welling. Those two are con artists didn’t give me crap for all my blind faith.

How is my team looking? I’m not sure who to captain (probably between Aguero and Pelle) and not sure who to start for my defence

      chins says:

      Fish,
Even as a Gooner and after Chambers points from last week, I think you’ve got your team absolutely spot on as it is. Including the captain.

I can’t see Arsenal keeping Bony and Siggy from scoring and think going with the team in form for captain is smart.

      Good luck mate.

      • chins says:

Not sure on Barkley being a guaranteed starter, but would take the risk for the possible upside if he does. Certainly I’d play Barkley with a slight risk over your alternatives of Chambers or Boyd.

Here is a little something I came up with. This includes all the players from the captaincy article.

      Spot the Fantasy NFL fan….

Surprised you don’t have ‘points allowed by position’ vs Mids, vs Forwards etc!! 😉

Good stuff though mate. Now i’m thinking Pelle over Welbs. Even though I think he’ll benefit from Wallys return.

        • chins says:

I’ve got Welbs already mate – Don’t worry, i’m not crazy enough to bring him in now! smile Just thinking that he’s at least got enough pace to get in the box to get on the end of Wallys crosses?!

I’ve got Mane already too, which is making me hesitate even more over bringing Pelle in.

Really struggling this week. Want to take Haz out for Oscar but after reading the article I see Haz has a good record against the pool. Don’t remember ever struggling this much with 2FT’s before. – They’re a frikkin curse. Reminds me of that bloody Jan wildcard that nags away at you to use it even when you don’t really need to. Aaarrgghh!!!

    • 17.2

Interesting mito. Think I’ll stick with augero but it’s a tricky one this week!

      • Mito21 @FantasyFooty247 says:

NZ, I think what it showed me is that Berahino is good value, but value is the main reason you would buy him. What he frees one up to do with the extra cash. He has scored on 3 pens this season, I think that is unlikely to be the case over the next 10 games. Making him good value, but not an ideal 3rd forward unless you need the cash for other things. Sakho assuming the Donkey (Andy) doesn’t disturb him in a major way when he is back, looks like the best value and high production striker so far this season for a budget.
