Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 11

Fantasy football tips fplCould’ve been better, could’ve been worse just about sums up our performance in GW10. We ended the game-week on 57 points which was 11 above the average. The accolade of weekly top scorer was shared between Tim Krul and Sergio Aguero, both of whom managed just 8 points. Our total of 57 points really was underpinned by our defence with Krul (8), Alderweireld (6), Baines (7), and Taylor who climbed off our bench also chipping in with 6 points, meaning the four of those accounted for 27 points. Moving onto our midfield and the ever dependable Cesc Fabregas pitched in with 6 points thanks to yet another assist and a solitary bonus point. Our remaining midfielders were a disappointment with Di Maria, Siggy & Tadic amassing a combined total of just 7 points. Moving onto our forward line and the returning Diego Costa who was also our captain managed a massively disappointing 4 points, while the underwhelming Danny Welbeck weighed in with 5 points thanks to an assist. Thanks to the only goal of the Manchester derby Aguero picked up 8 points but if Michael Oliver understood what a penalty was the Argentine would have had a significantly greater haul. The derby brought our interest in GW10 to a close a we had no representation in the remaining two games. Unfortunately our score of 57 points saw us slip to 2,197th in the world which is still an excellent ranking, but we set ourselves some lofty standards! We hope GW11 may see us back into the top 1k once again, at least!

Transfer for GW11

This week’s transfer meeting was one of the easiest we have had this season, one of us suggested this particular player and the rest of us agreed, if only everything in life was so simple! We can now confirm that we have;

Sold Danny Welbeck and replaced him with Diafra Sakho

The Arsenal man has been somewhat of a disappointment since we transferred him in when playing our wildcard back in GW4. In the subsequent games he scored twice & claimed two assists and we expected more from him, playing as the lone striker ahead of such a talented midfield. As we’ve already indicated, the decision to replace him with Sakho was quite an easy one. The Hammers striker has been in scintillating form of late with five goals and two assists in his last six appearances. Obviously he missed last week’s draw away to Stoke due to an injury, but he returned to full training on Thursday and we suspect and expect Big Sam will be keen to get him back into the starting XI this weekend.
The starting eleven picks itself this week. We’ve gone with Krul in goal away to West Brom as Mannone has lost his place in the Sunderland side, but it’s unlikely we’d have played him anyway as Sunderland face Everton. At the back Alan Hutton is injured while Liam Moore appears to have lost his starting spot at Leicester, so that leaves us with Baines, Alderweireld and Taylor. Once more, George Boyd is the odd man out in midfield.

Captain

Unlike the decision to transfer in Sakho, the decision on who to give the armband to led to a heated debate (argument) and some wildly inaccurate stats being hurled around the office! It was a straight choice between Angel Di Maria and Sergio Aguero. Aguero faces second from bottom QPR but City have been far from convincing as of late and QPR have showed signs of improvement. The deciding factor in the decision was Crystal Palace’s away form, in five matches away from Selhurst Park this season they have conceded 11 goals. We also feel that Palace will sorely miss their captain Mile Jedinak, while United will be desperate to get back to winning ways. The fact that ADM is also on most set pieces helps. That and no European adventures midweek swung it in his favour.

Our captain this week then is Angel Di Maria.

Our vice captain is Sergio Aguero.

  1. Costa and Welbs out.
    Pelle and Sakho in.

    Playing the fixtures.
    Worried.
    Very worried.
    What have I done?!

    • Chins, easy for me to say but don’t stress it. Pelle is a great call for the next few weeks and by then you can reasses as to who is the better budget option. How much does that leave you in the bank?

      • NZ, I agree so much! People have been warning of Soton’s “horrendous” run of fixtures in GWs 12-14 (Man U, Arsenal and Man C) but, looking at their upcoming opponents’ last matches, I don’t see any signs of watertight defences.

  2. Hi All

Quick question for this week. Wisdom or Dummett in defence?

    Cheers

  3. Who’s the better captain this GW out of Tadic and ADM? (Or any others in my team, which is linked?) I’ve just switched to ADM because Man U have scored plenty against most other bottom-half teams, and Palace seem to have a worse defence than Leicester. Though FFFix have Tadic as top for projected points this GW. Any advice please?

  4. How does the team look? With £1.2 itb is there anything worth taking a hit for this week?

    Heaton
    Clyne Baines Chambers
    Siggy Walcott ADM Hazard
    Aguero Pelle Sakho

    Mannone Boyd Moore Taylor

And who to captain? Stand out choice is Pelle for me but Aguero, Sakho, ADM and Hazard are all good choices in my opinion.

  5. Morning…..

Debating whether to do welbeck to sakho.. What do you think??

also tempted to do tadic to walcott but that would be for a hit!!

    Current team:

    • Morning all! How is everyone?
      Mitro
Welbeck to Sakho is a sound move,
Tadic out for a hit doesnt sound good to me, even for Wally

      • Morning B-Bash!!

Yeah think I’ll just go with sakho!!

What’s your captain choice this week??

        • Mitro
I’m having a dilemma between Aguero and Pelle. Its been sat on Aguero all week, so Im tempted to leave it there. Their stats are very close!

        • I’m having that same problem… I’ve been switching it between them all week sad

    • Mitro, I’d agree with B-Bash, Welbeck to Sakho is a worthwhile transfer. I’d probably hold off on Wally until after the break.

      • Kop – just done welbeck to sakho!! Hopefully it pays off!!

Is it me but eveyone seems to be taking hit?!!

Who’s your captain for this week??

        • There are plenty of people taking hits alright, most of them to get Sanchez in.

I’m going with Pelle as capo.

    • Mitro,

You’ve just asked for advice on the same transfer I’m thinking about. The Sakho one.

Looks like we’re getting positive vibes on it. I’m in!

PS: For what it’s worth to you I don’t fancy the other move for the hit either.

      • GP – Dam…. I won’t be catching you this week smile

It seems a decent move.. HIs stats are really impressive. Plus getting rid of welbeck will allow my walcott move after the break.

Who you leaning to on your captain? Gone with aguero but for some reason my gut is saying pelle!!

    • Mitro, I did that very transfer last night (Wel to Sakho that is!) so im all for it! Good luck.

  6. Hi Guys, my team below for this week, any suggestions would be appreciated

    Foster
    Chambers, Jagielka, Bertrand
Tadic, Di María (v) , Sigurdsson, Fábregas
    Naismith, Pellè (C), Diego Costa

    Substitute player
    Krul
    Wisdom, Sterling, Dummett

    • Dazza,
Names that stand out to me as possible movers are Sterling, Siggy and Naismith.
How many ft’s and money itb mate?

      • No free transfers & 1.2m in the bank

        • With Barkley back Naismith will probably be moved out to the right side which reduces his chance of points. Sakho seems the obvious replacement, if your willing to take the hit.
          If not, I’d stick

        • cheers
