Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 11
Could’ve been better, could’ve been worse just about sums up our performance in GW10. We ended the game-week on 57 points which was 11 above the average. The accolade of weekly top scorer was shared between Tim Krul and Sergio Aguero, both of whom managed just 8 points. Our total of 57 points really was underpinned by our defence with Krul (8), Alderweireld (6), Baines (7), and Taylor who climbed off our bench also chipping in with 6 points, meaning the four of those accounted for 27 points. Moving onto our midfield and the ever dependable Cesc Fabregas pitched in with 6 points thanks to yet another assist and a solitary bonus point. Our remaining midfielders were a disappointment with Di Maria, Siggy & Tadic amassing a combined total of just 7 points. Moving onto our forward line and the returning Diego Costa who was also our captain managed a massively disappointing 4 points, while the underwhelming Danny Welbeck weighed in with 5 points thanks to an assist. Thanks to the only goal of the Manchester derby Aguero picked up 8 points but if Michael Oliver understood what a penalty was the Argentine would have had a significantly greater haul. The derby brought our interest in GW10 to a close a we had no representation in the remaining two games. Unfortunately our score of 57 points saw us slip to 2,197th in the world which is still an excellent ranking, but we set ourselves some lofty standards! We hope GW11 may see us back into the top 1k once again, at least!
Transfer for GW11
This week’s transfer meeting was one of the easiest we have had this season, one of us suggested this particular player and the rest of us agreed, if only everything in life was so simple! We can now confirm that we have;
Sold Danny Welbeck and replaced him with Diafra Sakho
The Arsenal man has been somewhat of a disappointment since we transferred him in when playing our wildcard back in GW4. In the subsequent games he scored twice & claimed two assists and we expected more from him, playing as the lone striker ahead of such a talented midfield. As we’ve already indicated, the decision to replace him with Sakho was quite an easy one. The Hammers striker has been in scintillating form of late with five goals and two assists in his last six appearances. Obviously he missed last week’s draw away to Stoke due to an injury, but he returned to full training on Thursday and we suspect and expect Big Sam will be keen to get him back into the starting XI this weekend.
The starting eleven picks itself this week. We’ve gone with Krul in goal away to West Brom as Mannone has lost his place in the Sunderland side, but it’s unlikely we’d have played him anyway as Sunderland face Everton. At the back Alan Hutton is injured while Liam Moore appears to have lost his starting spot at Leicester, so that leaves us with Baines, Alderweireld and Taylor. Once more, George Boyd is the odd man out in midfield.
Captain
Unlike the decision to transfer in Sakho, the decision on who to give the armband to led to a heated debate (argument) and some wildly inaccurate stats being hurled around the office! It was a straight choice between Angel Di Maria and Sergio Aguero. Aguero faces second from bottom QPR but City have been far from convincing as of late and QPR have showed signs of improvement. The deciding factor in the decision was Crystal Palace’s away form, in five matches away from Selhurst Park this season they have conceded 11 goals. We also feel that Palace will sorely miss their captain Mile Jedinak, while United will be desperate to get back to winning ways. The fact that ADM is also on most set pieces helps. That and no European adventures midweek swung it in his favour.
Our captain this week then is Angel Di Maria.
Our vice captain is Sergio Aguero.
And in text format as promised –
Krul
Alderweireld, Taylor, Baines
Di Maria (c), Fabregas, Sigurdsson, Tadic
Sakho, Costa, Aguero (vc)
Subs: Boyd, Moore, Hutton (gk Mannone)

Please Vote – Fantasy Football Blog Awards
As you may have noticed (!) we have been shortlisted as a finalist for the Best FPL Football Blog award (FBA). The finals take place on November 13th at the National Football Museum in Manchester. Voting closes in exactly one week and it’s looking a close run thing so every last vote counts at this stage. If you could take just 2 minutes to vote via one of the links on the left here it would be massively appreciated. We would love nothing more than to bring home an award for you all!

Given my inexplicable reluctance to ditch Ivan, I think I have reached a decent compromise – he and DDG to Chambers and Courtois. Both FTs, good moves aye? Gives me 1.8 in the kitty too.
Calvin
sounds good to me, do you have Baines? If so hit that button right now! Just have to keep in mind that Chambers is only a starter until sometime in December
Thanks Duthers, yeah got Baines already. I know Chambers is just filling in, which is why I don’t have him already, but he’s been playing well enough and I dropped many places last GW for not having him. Will let me do Tadic to Wally next GW too.
HELP
Start Elmohamady (Hull) or Nainsmith (everton)?
Naismith!
+1 definitely!
Naismith, IMO…best wishes
Thanks Calvin B-Bash n Anti Top Four .. Cheers and 70+ pts to each of you this weekend. ;-D
Good day all. It’s Been some time since posting. My Team hasn’t had a good start, climbing out of the top 3mil, then 2mil and now into the top 1 million somewhere. Wish me luck:
Lorris
Baines Coleman wisdom
ADM, Chadli, Barkley, tadic
Rooney, pelle, berahino
Myhill, siggy, Wilson, Moore
I’m liking the team, with you climbing out of each stage every week, this week you should be getting past the 1 mill stage, giod luck and who’s your captain?
Shrek
Nice, he can do something this week
Hey guys, what shall I do this week 1ft with 0.8 in the bank?
am4, Diame to Downing for me, though that makes it harder to bring in Baines if you were so inclined.. a significant downgrade would be needed for that later on.
I was thinking of maybe taking the -4 hit and doing Diame out Downing in and siggy out chadli in?
Siggy over Chadli for me, esp if a hit is involved. Having said that I do keep on expecting Chadli’s flame to go out, much like I did with Yaya last season, so I may be being too stubborn about Chadli.. I should really watch a full Spurs game soon..
I’d save the transfer with the international break following or, maybe, Take a punt on Felaini or downing…best wishes.
Hey BROS!
It’s time for the last reminder for my leagues!
Here’s the code for my classic league (counts score from GW8 –> GW38) and my H2H league (starts at GW11).
Classic: Clash of the bros, code: 3293687-708306
H2H: Bro vs Bro, code: 3293687-708308
Join before deadline and these girls will cheer for you this weekend. 😉
Everybody joining now can’t win a thing. If you make winner of the month league I’ll join. That one will reset every month.
Of course you can win, you crazy monkey. 😉
The classic league will count your score from GW8 no matter when you join it and the H2H starts this weekend. Deadline in 34 minutes, come on bros join!!!
Joined the classic league, I don’t do H2H because whenever I do I alter my team too much for my next opponent instead of looking what is good for me long term. But I joined the classic one.
Thanks for joining dude 😉
My team:
Forster (Gilks)
Chambers – Dummett – Baines (Moore-Hutton)
Di Maria – Siggy – Fabregas – Tadic (Albrighton)
Costa – Kun (C) – Pelle
Who to cap? Pelle or Kun? Or Di Maria even? Or Costa? Or…. Tadic…. I know Tadic is bound to score today (long distance shots usually work against Leicester) SHITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Anyway, who would you kids captain? Have had 3 bad cap choices, my league rival is catching up with me. I need to get it right this GW!
I’d stick with Kun…best wishes.
Pelle home versus a poor Leicester. Kun away against QPR picking up speed. Though, Chelsea gave half strenght last weekend.
Agree, and Pelle if not him.
