Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 12
A pretty solid GW11 saw the team amass 71pts which was 20pts above the average and meant some more green arrows. It was another week where our scoring was spread evenly throughout the team and began well in the early kick off as Diego Costa scored at Anfield and combined with 2bps and a booking contributed 7pts. Cesc Fabregas was sadly quiet and produced just the 2pts. Onto the 3pm matches in which our only representatives were Southampton’s Toby Alderweireld and Dusan Tadic, Difra Sakho and our captain, Angel di Maria. ADM had a low key game but did manage an assist before he was taken off on 70mins, so 6pts doubled into 12 wasn’t the worst, but later events left us rueing choosing him as captain. A Southampton clean sheet brought 5pts for Alderweireld, while Tadic’s return was just 3pts. Sakho did nothing, unfortunately – just the 2pts from him. The evening kick off and Sergio Aguero left us another reminder as to his captaincy credentials as he notched City’s two goals at Rangers – he also claimed the 3bps to end up on 13. Ouch. We should have skippered him! Onto Sunday and it couldn’t have worked out much better. Leighton Baines scored and claimed maximum bonus points vs Sunderland, while Tim Krul kept a clean sheet at West Brom before Gylfi Sigurdsson, in the final match of the gameweek scored a goal and 9pts in Swansea’s win over Arsenal. We forgave Neil Taylor his booking and single point return on the basis of everything else going our way.
So despite us crushing the average, we only climbed 77 places to 2,120 in the world, illustrating the level of competition at the higher end of the leagues and how hard it is to make serious ground.
Transfer for GW12
With just one free transfer available and with six of our players listed as doubts during the week, we have held firm, not panicked and resisted the temptation to take a hit!
We have made just the one transfer, which is:
Selling Diafra Sakho and buying Charlie Austin.
Our rationale on this move is that Sakho is very unlikely to play this weekend – he was away with Senegal on international duty and actually had to pull out of their game in the week with a back injury. Big Sam said in the presser he is very wary of the impending fixture list and the dangers of starting players who are not 100% and then making them worse, which could mean an extended time on the treatment table. Since then Sam has said that Sakho couldn’t even get out of bed on Friday morning due to his back injury. Therefore, we have decided enough is enough and that we need three playing strikers. Charlie Austin is in great form and though Rangers travel to a much improved Newcastle this week, we still think they have half a chance of scoring. Rangers’ next four home games see them entertain Leicester, Burnley, West Brom and Crystal Palace and we expect (hope) that Austin will continue his great run of scoring, which has seen him find the back of the net five times in his last six matches.
Captain
Our captain this week is Sergio Aguero.
Another close vote from the committee which narrowly swung the way of Aguero, with Diego Costa running him mightily close. In all fairness, it’s a toss up between the two and the vote could easily have gone the other way. The fact that Aguero is on penalties clinched it, but we’ll be honest and admit that we believe both players should do well this weekend.
Our vice captain is unsurprisingly Costa.

Hi all – so have settled on this team HOWEVER got the constant nagging feeling that I need Sanchez in there but not sure how I’m going to do it! What do we think? Shall I take a (possible) 8 point hit to get Sanchez in? (or is that a little crazy?)
Any advice on the above would be good – anyone?
mj – not for a 8 point hit

best of luck all
Hello all. Today’s angst comes from injuries. I play in a draft league so this is my final team. My question is who to leave on the bench out of Tadic, Sigurdsson, Fabregas, Barkley, Mane?
I’ve captained Pelle. Other choices would be Rooney Lukaku or one of the midfielders above.
Thanks for any help you can provide.
Siggy I guess
Heres my second team. It’s actually been doing better than my first team the last couple of weeks I think. Just brought in Costa for Lukaku to finish a fairly lethal attack.
Current team: plan before international was Forster-fabianski and sterling to Walcott next weekend. Do i stick with the plan? If so do I use my transfer for this weekend? Any thoughts appreciated
Sounds like a plan indeed duthers. Just monitor Walcott carefully before making a move for him… and Clyne / Pelle may need to go soon.
Was planning on saving my transfer til next week and dumping Tadic and Clyne. But now I’m not so sure anymore with all yellow players. So saving my transfer or?
What’s your team value?
Oh 1Ft and 0.1 in the bank. 😛 Don’t mind taking a – 4 hit
