Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 12
A pretty solid GW11 saw the team amass 71pts which was 20pts above the average and meant some more green arrows. It was another week where our scoring was spread evenly throughout the team and began well in the early kick off as Diego Costa scored at Anfield and combined with 2bps and a booking contributed 7pts. Cesc Fabregas was sadly quiet and produced just the 2pts. Onto the 3pm matches in which our only representatives were Southampton’s Toby Alderweireld and Dusan Tadic, Difra Sakho and our captain, Angel di Maria. ADM had a low key game but did manage an assist before he was taken off on 70mins, so 6pts doubled into 12 wasn’t the worst, but later events left us rueing choosing him as captain. A Southampton clean sheet brought 5pts for Alderweireld, while Tadic’s return was just 3pts. Sakho did nothing, unfortunately – just the 2pts from him. The evening kick off and Sergio Aguero left us another reminder as to his captaincy credentials as he notched City’s two goals at Rangers – he also claimed the 3bps to end up on 13. Ouch. We should have skippered him! Onto Sunday and it couldn’t have worked out much better. Leighton Baines scored and claimed maximum bonus points vs Sunderland, while Tim Krul kept a clean sheet at West Brom before Gylfi Sigurdsson, in the final match of the gameweek scored a goal and 9pts in Swansea’s win over Arsenal. We forgave Neil Taylor his booking and single point return on the basis of everything else going our way.
So despite us crushing the average, we only climbed 77 places to 2,120 in the world, illustrating the level of competition at the higher end of the leagues and how hard it is to make serious ground.
Transfer for GW12
With just one free transfer available and with six of our players listed as doubts during the week, we have held firm, not panicked and resisted the temptation to take a hit!
We have made just the one transfer, which is:
Selling Diafra Sakho and buying Charlie Austin.
Our rationale on this move is that Sakho is very unlikely to play this weekend – he was away with Senegal on international duty and actually had to pull out of their game in the week with a back injury. Big Sam said in the presser he is very wary of the impending fixture list and the dangers of starting players who are not 100% and then making them worse, which could mean an extended time on the treatment table. Since then Sam has said that Sakho couldn’t even get out of bed on Friday morning due to his back injury. Therefore, we have decided enough is enough and that we need three playing strikers. Charlie Austin is in great form and though Rangers travel to a much improved Newcastle this week, we still think they have half a chance of scoring. Rangers’ next four home games see them entertain Leicester, Burnley, West Brom and Crystal Palace and we expect (hope) that Austin will continue his great run of scoring, which has seen him find the back of the net five times in his last six matches.
Captain
Our captain this week is Sergio Aguero.
Another close vote from the committee which narrowly swung the way of Aguero, with Diego Costa running him mightily close. In all fairness, it’s a toss up between the two and the vote could easily have gone the other way. The fact that Aguero is on penalties clinched it, but we’ll be honest and admit that we believe both players should do well this weekend.
Our vice captain is unsurprisingly Costa.
The FF247 GW12 team in all it’s glory is –

DiMaria, Sánchez, Chadli, Tadic (Boyd)
Aguero, Costa, Sakho
2Ft
Thinking change Hutton and Sakho

a, Dummett & Diouf
b, Janmaat & S.Fletcher
c, Chambers & Austin
d, Janmaat & Austin
e, your suggestion? ?
Thanks…
fcsh – not seeing huge reason to change Hutton. Austin is a good choice
Hi TheDreamers
so, what you means is just change Sakho to Austin and keep Hutton?
fcsh
I like Janmaat and Austin if you can afford them.
Ok cookie
thanks for you suggestion
yes fcsh
So this is my team before transfers guys
I’ve limited my choices down to –
1) Vlaar -> Dummett
2) Berhino -> Austin
3) Both of the above transfers
4) Something else
Note that I have to make a transfer as I have 2 to use. Thoughts? I’m thinking option 1
Team didn’t upload
Come on….
Alright….. It didn’t allow me to upload my team via a screenshot.
So –
Baines, Clyne, N. Taylor (Wisdom, Vlaar)
Di Maria, Hazard, Fab, Siggy, Downing
Costa, Pelle, Berahino
Hi mate,
Austin and Dummy in for Berahino & Vlaar make sense
Alright I’ve locked in Vlaar -> Dummett. Worth holding Berahino, keeping him on the bench for Downing and keeping the FT or Transferring him to Austin and benching Downing?
Any suggestions on what to do here. 0 bank, 1ft don’t mind taking hits. I was thinking Austin for Naismith and wally to someone but im not gone on tadic, besides the explosive week he got 23 points his points return has been poor. What you think?
Starfox,
Walcott has to go mate. I watched your convo with NIN in the week and have to admit I agreed with him. In all probability Walcott won’t be a viable option for at least 2/3 weeks. Not sure who you’d get but I would look to raise money for Nasimith to Austin next week.
I was planning on keeping wally but the groin strain means he has to go
Agreed Starfox
Same Wally was on my radar and I wanted to forget about Sanchez. Now that has changed I made plans to work in Sanchez later today. Pelle to Austin and Tadic to Sanchez.
1ft this week & not sure if I should use it. Unsure if I should sell Moore or Mannone or even Clyne. Was thinking Dummett in for Moore but would have Krul in team.
Any ideas please on current team and Aguero or Costa as Captain
Or Clyne out for AzpilIvieta leaving 0.1m in the bank. Southhamton fixtures not the best compared to Chelseas.
Clyne out to Azpi could work Razor – or if not hold the transfer.
I’d keep Clyne, he has one more good Gameweek before a very hard run. I’d be looking at Hutton or Moore out as they really haven’t shown much recently.
Moore not played the last few weeks I think so Moore or Clyne. If Moore for who or keep transfer
Guys!!
Would you do sakho to Austin. It would mean my hit wil increase to -8 as I’ve already brought in Costa & wanyama
Current team
Sakho is injured & Austin is in good form & QPR do have some fixtures that they could get something from. It’s a gamble this week but could work well for u.
Could u please check my team above. Thx & good luck
Not worth it for me, even if Austin scores he will just make over you took him in for. I’d wait till next weekend mate
Mitro, no mate! Let Wanyama come off the bench for Sakho this week. And do the Austin move next week. 8pt hit should be done if you can’t field XI and you can.
Guys my transfer this week is sakho–>Austin/ayoze, but not sure whether to take a -4 to do Foster–> green/krul….Foster plays Chelsea this week and arsenal next. Should I take the -4?
….krul(if Austin is bought it will be Austin vs krul) or green(good fixtures coming up) ?
….Austin(less risk of rotation) or ayoze (0.9 cheaper and could use it else where) ?
FDMS,
my advice is to get Austin and keep Foster. In weeks to come Krul also has tough fixtures, it’s swings and roundabouts, your keeper will face tough games at some point.
But Foster is my only playing gk, so this week and next I can’t expect a cs from him…..what do you think about green?
Nice home fixtures coming up, but in all reality how many clean sheets will they keep?
So I guess sticking with Foster is the best option this week?
