Fantasy Football FF247 Team Gameweek 12
A pretty solid GW11 saw the team amass 71pts which was 20pts above the average and meant some more green arrows. It was another week where our scoring was spread evenly throughout the team and began well in the early kick off as Diego Costa scored at Anfield and combined with 2bps and a booking contributed 7pts. Cesc Fabregas was sadly quiet and produced just the 2pts. Onto the 3pm matches in which our only representatives were Southampton’s Toby Alderweireld and Dusan Tadic, Difra Sakho and our captain, Angel di Maria. ADM had a low key game but did manage an assist before he was taken off on 70mins, so 6pts doubled into 12 wasn’t the worst, but later events left us rueing choosing him as captain. A Southampton clean sheet brought 5pts for Alderweireld, while Tadic’s return was just 3pts. Sakho did nothing, unfortunately – just the 2pts from him. The evening kick off and Sergio Aguero left us another reminder as to his captaincy credentials as he notched City’s two goals at Rangers – he also claimed the 3bps to end up on 13. Ouch. We should have skippered him! Onto Sunday and it couldn’t have worked out much better. Leighton Baines scored and claimed maximum bonus points vs Sunderland, while Tim Krul kept a clean sheet at West Brom before Gylfi Sigurdsson, in the final match of the gameweek scored a goal and 9pts in Swansea’s win over Arsenal. We forgave Neil Taylor his booking and single point return on the basis of everything else going our way.
So despite us crushing the average, we only climbed 77 places to 2,120 in the world, illustrating the level of competition at the higher end of the leagues and how hard it is to make serious ground.
Transfer for GW12
With just one free transfer available and with six of our players listed as doubts during the week, we have held firm, not panicked and resisted the temptation to take a hit!
We have made just the one transfer, which is:
Selling Diafra Sakho and buying Charlie Austin.
Our rationale on this move is that Sakho is very unlikely to play this weekend – he was away with Senegal on international duty and actually had to pull out of their game in the week with a back injury. Big Sam said in the presser he is very wary of the impending fixture list and the dangers of starting players who are not 100% and then making them worse, which could mean an extended time on the treatment table. Since then Sam has said that Sakho couldn’t even get out of bed on Friday morning due to his back injury. Therefore, we have decided enough is enough and that we need three playing strikers. Charlie Austin is in great form and though Rangers travel to a much improved Newcastle this week, we still think they have half a chance of scoring. Rangers’ next four home games see them entertain Leicester, Burnley, West Brom and Crystal Palace and we expect (hope) that Austin will continue his great run of scoring, which has seen him find the back of the net five times in his last six matches.
Captain
Our captain this week is Sergio Aguero.
Another close vote from the committee which narrowly swung the way of Aguero, with Diego Costa running him mightily close. In all fairness, it’s a toss up between the two and the vote could easily have gone the other way. The fact that Aguero is on penalties clinched it, but we’ll be honest and admit that we believe both players should do well this weekend.
Our vice captain is unsurprisingly Costa.
The FF247 GW12 team in all it’s glory is –
And in text format as promised –
Krul
Alderweireld, Hutton, Baines
Di Maria, Fabregas, Sigurdsson, Tadic
Austin, Costa (vc), Aguero (c)
Subs: Mannone, Boyd, Taylor, Moore
Is Walters worth a punt? Need a differential 5.3 or less.
That’s probably your best bet in that price range. He’s on pens as well. Which granted, can go either way with him!
How about Sanchez from Villa for 4.4? You could always hope the FPL computer gets him mixed up with the Arsenal one
Who to start?
Chambers(man u H) or
Hutton(sou H) or
Duff(stk A)
Duff, I think. Burnley don’t concede many goals and Stoke don’t score many.
A coin flip between Chambers and Hutton for me FDMS.Possibly Chambers.
Thanks guys…..one more question, is it wise to take a -4 to do Foster to green? As Fosters next two fixtures is Chelsea and arsenal, and qpr have nice fixtures coming up……btw Foster is my only playing gk.
No, not worth taking a hit to replace a goalie who’s playing. Likely point lost for goals could be made up for by points for saves against the tougher teams.
No.
Clyne to Azpil or hold transfer as Moore game time now a issue even tho he’s not starting in team
Why is everyone so fond of Tadic? I know he is up there in the total points haul but besides that week he got 23 points he has not done anything special.. just my opinion
Because he’s an attacking midfielder in an in-form team, has a good career track record, and doesn’t cost much.
I agree, take that week out and he’s been bang average. May be biased as I’ve just sold him
Hi init, what moves did you make in the end?
Hi NIN. Or Min as someone called you yesterday Punt on Sissoko to allow Costa to come in. What have you done?
Ha, yeah i remember that Interesting punt on Sissoko, could work out well.
Clyne&Di Maria -> Chambers&Sanchez for me. It’s a week earlier than originally planned to sell Clyne, but i felt it was worth it for Sanchez. Aguero/Costa (c)? Kun for me
Kun too.
Cool. I think he’s on perma-cap mode for me. UCL might have something to say about that though 😉
He’s been unlucky. Anyway, he’s on penalty duty as well.
Rose out for a DEF for 5.2. Which is best option?
Janmaat.
Janmaat is 1 yellow away from suspension.
It’s only a 1-week suspension tho, right?
Yes, but it is something you have keep in the back of your mind.
Isla ?
Taylor of Swansea?
Reid of West Ham (booking away though)
Current team: probably gonna stick but someone put Taylor out for Dummet in my head, do i stick for make the change? Also who is everyone capping? Leaning toward Costa myself after about a month of Aguero captain
Twas me and you may aswell use one of your transfers mate.No brainer to me.
Only thing stopping me is that is requires .3 million, and given the transfers i am looking to make i need as much money as i can get :/
Ok yun of Qpr then.Same price.Don’t let a transfer go to waste mate.
I’m capping Pelle. Villa have let strikers score in every match where they haven’t kept a CS: Aguero, Austin, Costa, Jelavic, Kane, Lukaku, even Welbeck. Mind you, if I had Costa I’d captain him.
