Fantasy Football Live Match Chat DGW34
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat DGW34. Its double time!! A huge week of footy awaits, 14 games, starting on Saturday and with at least one game each day until we finish on Thursday. Wow. We kick off Saturday lunchtime with a date on the south coast as FA Cup semi-finalists Southampton and Chelsea have a warm-up for their Wembley date next week. Just four 3pm matches follow as Burnley host Leicester, Brighton go up to Palace, Huddersfield welcome Watford and Swansea and Everton meet at the Liberty. The first evening match, yes there are two, this week is that good(!) sees Liverpool host Bournemouth before the main event sees Wembley welcome Man City as they play Spurs. Don’t book any plans for Saturday evening!
Sunday is a calmer affair – Arsenal travel up to Newcastle before Man Utd enjoy shooting practice at West Brom.
Monday evening sees a night under the lights at West Ham. That used to be intimidating until they moved house. Stoke are the visitors and Arnie gets a go at his former employers.
Midweek sees the 2nd game for our double game-weekers. We start Tuesday as Spurs venture down to Brighton.
Wednesday sees Man Utd also take a trip to the south coast, to Bournemouth before we finish on Thursday with our last two matches as Burnley host Chelsea and Leicester welcome the hapless Southampton.
What’s not to like eh? Go well.

That’s two red flags on the spin. My rank has plummeted by 4 places over that time. Hopefully my DGWers can turn it all around . #keepthefaith
Plummeted FOUR places??
Bearing in mind that Anfield Express revealed the Liverpool line-up post deadline on Saturday, what are we to do if they do likewise on Saturday?
Surely they will Cookie, there tweet was 4 hours before Liverpool’s kick off time last game, so hopefully with them being the early game on Saturday we could find out early sat morning. Definitely keeping an eye out as I’m playing my free hit this week and I would hold off making transfers if i wasn’t.
nothing is guaranteed Bongo and you can bet that the club are trying to identify and plug the leak. Whether they do or not remains to be seen, but surely it’s a case of when and not if?
Saturday morning will be chaos!!
Yeah very true, hopefully they won’t find the mole this week tho aye cause we could really do with knowing the team with so few games lol. I follow someone called indykaila on twitter who claimes he knows someone at Liverpool at tbf when he posts teams they are usually spot on, apparently he puts together a mean Zinger burger meal as well tho so could just be a chancer.
I have seen him and he is full of shit! Especially when the transfer window is open.
DDG
Christensen Chilwell Lowton
Willian Eriksen Mahrez GroB
Lukaku Firmino Barnes
Pickford VVD Walcott Otamendi
Do I go for: Eriksen + Lukaku -> Salah and Auba. Y or N for -4?
Little Red,
that’s impossible to answer at this stage given the uncertainty over Liverpool’s line-up. Salah could easily be rested in front of Champions League.
That is true. May try to get a Crystal Palace mid.
You have no FH left I assume?
Zaha is the obvious CP midfielder, Mili for budget options but both in decent form.
Yes, no FH left.
Gotcha – you simply have to wait and hope Liverpool is leaked again mate.
I don’t see any harm in getting Aubameyang in to replace Lukaku and then wait for the Liverpool news. That’s what I did although I am on a free hit.
Why the rush? Money won’t be an issue and if Auba picks up knock in training, it’s 4pts down the drain. I know it probably won’t happen, but it could…..
That’s a fair point if price is no object. I can often be a little trigger happy with my transfers. It’s a wonder how I managed to save all my chips until now. Using them up with a vengeance now though.
haha like Christmas for you every GW now!!
Loving it although instead of breaking into the top 10k I’m doing my best to cock it up. 29k now.
Long way to go this GW
I’m on a free hit this week and tempted to go heavy on Liverpool and Man City midfielders/forwards. If Salah doesn’t play then Mane will, if Silva doesn’t play then Sterling and Jesus will. The squad should be strong enough to cope if there’s one absentee from each. I doubt we will get any idea of team selection prior to the deadline (although I will wait). What do you think?
My planned squad;
Pickford / Hennessey
Lowton / Long / Baines / Chambers / Tomkins
Mane / Salah / Silva / Sterling / Milivojevic
Aubameyang / Jesus / Firmino
Current squad;
Pickford / Hennessey
Lowton / Long / Baines / Fernandez / VVD
Shaqiri / Salah / Silva / Sterling / Zaha
Aubameyang / Jesus / Firmino
Thanks.
Twinkle, it looks great if your analysis is correct.
HaHa, yes, I can see it now, all of City and Liverpool’s big hitters rested and replaced by youth players.
If I were Klopp I certainly wouldn’t start 2 of Salah, Firmino and Mane.
City rotation re Winners’ medals…
Technically, a player has to play in five league matches to receive a winners medal.
The squad members yet to play that number are:
Claudio Bravo (1)
Phil Foden (3)
Brahim Diaz (3)
Benjamin Mendy (4)
Some have speculated that Bravo (for example) may play the last four matches in order to qualify for a medal. However, each club is given 40 medals to dish out – once those players who have qualified for one have got theirs, it is at the club’s discretion who else receives one….players, staff etc, completely their decision.
So far 19 players have played in enough matches to qualify for a medal. So I would say that Ederson not playing any of the last four matches is maybe not necessarily going to happen.
Hahaha…
Pure gold !!
