      Maple

An amazing first day. You should be proud.

      Well done sir.

Thanks all! Traditionally I’m not a horn tooter but I get the feeling this might be short lived so might as well! Now on to the meat and potatoes…

Would Giroud and mata be likely downgrades to free up some cash for Aguero over the next few weeks? Would leave me a 5.5 mid to replace mata…

        • inittowinit says:

maple, toot away! We love success stories. No ego here we just want everyone to do as well as they can. If all 30,000 site members populated the top 30,000 on FPL and I was in 30,000th position I’d be happy as Larry for the other 29,999.

On Aguero then! Yeah he feels like the elephant in the corner of the room at the moment doesn’t he. One with slightly suspect hamstrings. Part of my thinking on going 3 big up top and possibly what actually sealed the deal was indeed Aguero. If he returns next week and returns with a goal or whatever, which he may well do, I feel a stampede on the horizon. I’d definitely start looking at how to accommodate him now just in case.

No idea on Arsene’s plans with Giroud but I suspect he will be back sharpish after tonight. Mata I’m not sure on either. He was flavour of the month with good reason prior to today but I wasn’t impressed with Utd personally but that’s not to say they won’t kick on soon, it’s early days.

        • Yup, Aguero was the reason I went with 3 premium strikers as well. I kinda hope it will be Sturridge I will ship out for Aguero, but Liverpool will surely be a free-scoring team, and Sturridge will probably be the main scorer, so it could very well be Costa who get the boot. The problem then is I have to find 1.5m somewhere >.<

        • inittowinit says:

Tekno I’m intrigued as to how it’ll pan out as I think Sturridge may (hopefully, captain this week, come on Studge save my week 😉 lol ) prove to be essential, Rooney will be assuming he stays fit and I think Costa will be too if he hits the ground running. Be interesting to see who we drop for Aguero! I have a feeling it will be temporary though for some reason……

        • RedVT says:

initt, Tekno, and maple- are you guys concerned about Aguero’s injury record at all? I tried to keep him in my team whenever I could last season, but he was frustrating. I mean, when the guy’s healthy and playing he’s unstoppable, but it seemed like that wasn’t very often.

I think I’m going to steer clear from him until he can put together a few matches at least without getting hurt.

I must say red that some of the quotes he makes in this article gives me the sense that both he and the club are well aware of his version of “Achilles heel” and are really committed to a program to try to mitigate the kind of nagging injuries that have befallen him in the past. I would also suspect since they have committed a boatload of cash to him for 5 years that they will be really diligent and unwavering in terms of his strength and conditioning..

He obviously could go out in the first game and fracture his kneecaps while sliding into a goal celebration..

I for one though will be keeping my transfer in hand this week in preparation for an early swap for him next GW.

        • RedVT says:

Thanks for sharing that article maple, it is encouraging. I’m still a little weary after last season though, so I’m probably going to hold back a bit and see how he does first. He’s definitely a great player and a huge fantasy points asset when he’s healthy though.

Those of you that saw the Tottenham match today, how did Eriksen look compared to Lamela? Did Eriksen have many chances from set-pieces to score? How about Lamela, did he have any shots on goal? Who looked the most dangerous to you?

Hey inittowinit if you are still about. You said in a post above “If all 30,000 site members populated the top 30,000 on FPL”. I asked the question last just by curiosity but got no reply. Are there 30 000 user on this site? If so. That’s freaking insane! With the quality of articles you provide on here you seem like growing exponentially! Even though you have haters popping up once in a while, this site is really the best I have encountered and fully deserving of future success and what not.

I would have estimate 300-400 max- thats insane!!!

      • KungFuKingCantona says:

Hehe…I would have thought roughly 2000. But it can be hard to find out exaclty. I ain’t no webpage genius so would not know how to!
If there are 30 000 it means that probs 90% are just lurking in the shadows! 😛

Sorry guys completely missed this. I’m going off registered users. That’s people that have signed up just as you did. They don’t all comment of course, that much us clear from the site view stats. It’s fair to say your comments are viewed worldwide by an audience we never hear from! No idea what % actually comment, I guess its low in comparison to registered users but still high comparative to most FPL sites out there. That’s not a boast its fact, you can see that for yourselves. FFS is miles ahead and its a great site but hey they’ve been around for years. Personally I used to go on there but the comments are more one-liners and impersonal. Great community none the less. Our site stats have gone through the roof this season. We’ve broken our record views every day this week and we are currently running at roughly 6/7 x the views per day that we were getting last season on average.

Happy to share this info lads as I’ve said from day 1 its a community site and it’s yours as well as ours, we just have to do the graft running it! Any questions regarding anything like this just throw them out and one of us will answer if we can be bothered to be online etc, lol 😉

      • KungFuKingCantona says:

Thx for the reply initt! People go where they feel more like home and I come here and here only because it does feel very homely. Began roughly a year ago to lurk around, then post a bit more regularly and now I think I am hooked…. Great work. It is really REALLY appreciated. Getting late here so before I start talking about love and such I will just go to bed haha!

        • inittowinit says:

Kung Fu you’re spot on mate. It feels homely and everyone knows everyone and all new users are embraced and welcomed. The philosophy came from FFC to be fair and we’ve tried to continue that. I used many FF sites when I started playing but gravitated to FFC for the exact reasons you stated. Felt like a community based on banter, great FF knowledge, trust and there was a feel to it that was different to others so I landed on there and stuck to it. All that has in time lead is all to FF247, where we are now. I’ve made amazing friends along the way and I know we are all very proud of what we have here. Bit of an odd night in some ways with a few minor distractions, with some fairly obvious agendas but hey that’s the joys of a website sometimes!

        • KungFuKingCantona says:

Haha innit the joy of the website is that you may attract all kind of weirdos from all over the world. But hey, you learn and laugh! Hopefully I am not in the weirdo category because I have not done anything to warrant this label…yet! laugh
