  1. Thinking of dropping Mata for Sterling with my free transfer. Too soon to bail on Mata? Thought he looked terrible in the 30 minutes of the game i saw

    • Considering Mata has Sunderland next whereas Sterling faces Man City, I’d say yes, too soon. Give your picks a chance… from gameweek 4 onwards I will probably have Sterling in my team.

      • Thanks. This site’s like group therapy for FPL addicts. Not saying I’m happy others teams didn’t do well, just helps knowing it wasn’t just my team that tanked

        With these fixtures I’m persevering with Mata & co.:
        Sunderland (A) Burnley (A) QPR (H) Leicester (A) West Ham (H)

        I have Henderson so I’ll probably go for Sturridge in for Costa rather than picking Sterling.

        • …I don’t mean this week for that sub, in a couple of weeks.

    • Was also thinking about this… From people who’ve successfully built team value in previous seasons, how hard do you chase it? If you can upgrade or go sideways, your new guy still has good fixtures, and you can also make money, would you do the transfer?

      Sterling in certainly seems like it would be a nice earner…It’s tempting. But then I did pick my team for the first 3 GWs at least…

      • ManU definitely have the better fixtures but, like you, would hate to miss out on a Sterling price increase. Have to remember I didn’t pick Sterling because of his GW 2&3 fixtures. A little shocked Siggy’s price didn’t go up overnight

      • Players who tend to rise in value are those who score well and have good fixtures (Sigurdsson, Clyne, Chester).

        It also helps if a similar player has a shocker or gets injured (e.g. Sigurdsson is a direct replacement for Barkley).

        I don’t think Sterling/Sturridge will go up much if anything this week but if they score well in GW3 then they’ll go through the roof.

        • …well Sturridge might not because people might not have the cash to upgrade.

        • For me it’s always been Sturridge or Costa to play up front with Shrek. I’ve decided: Mata & B0jan get at least another week. Promised myself I’d let my team stand for 3 weeks before I started to tinker. Want to make it at least 2 weeks…

  3. Too bad, based on the second half feeder club deserved a draw. On that note, don’t see this Liverpool playing for the title this year.

    • Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal contending for the league.

      Man Utd and Liverpool playing for 4th.

          That was still Palace which is a tough team to beat. They still have not left the Pulis image behind and their game looked exactly like the way Pulis liked his team to play. Difficult game !! And still we were without Ozil and Wally.

        • Being without Ozil could be a blessing in disguise. Wally is needed though. Think Chelsea will be this years winners. Hoping otherwise.

          Ozil+Sanchez combination would be killer,remember you heard it here first before you get Ozil in your fantasy team.

      • Man Utd playing for 4th?Really?See how they come out of the “easy” fixtures over the next few weeks.

        • They need to add at least 3 world class players. Fletcher and Herrera won’t rescue the terrible defense. So 1 central midfield player, 1 defender and a player like Di Maria/Robben. Don’t see that happening though.

          On your team link thing – you need to re-do it as they have changed all the user ID numbers so you need to re-link it.

      • Red I worked in a hotel during my Uni days so I’m well versed in carrying trays for customers so don’t worry! Sterlings a bit heavy mind you! Advice you say? No mate, no idea about any of this fantasy stuff, ask each other I’ll just get the drinks in while you chat 😉

        • I didn’t interfere there. Was quite hilarious though. Reminds me of the days I used to own an Anime Network on DC++. Used to have 10-20k users a day (some never leaving :P). Anyway, arguments with other networks about petty things. People trying to crash your hubs/network and so on. At a certain point in my life I even took such small/petty things seriously. Hehe.

  6. Interesting to see Dummett at 4.0 start for Newcastle. I know some Geordies were talking him up last season, he could be one to watch for people who don’t have Krul if he gets regular playing time.
