Good luck for GW1 from all at FF247!
So my Power of Potty team ended up with 82pts.
My midfield of Silva/Sterling/Ramsey/and Fabragas as Captain did the biz for me.
Only glitch was the injury to Gibbs so off now to sort that out.
Potty
That’s an outrageous score !
really well done potty. good lead early on.
Nice one Potty! I ended up with 76. Could have been better but Terry let me down with only 2 points. No injuries as of yet so I think I’ll be resisting the urge to tinker with my side and save my FT for next week. Then we’ll see about getting Fábregas in for Eriksen perhaps!
Guys, a quick word of warning about early transfers and chasing price rises. It’s easy to get caught up in the moment after a player does well in a match and want to get them in your team ASAP. And building your team value over the course of the season is certainly a good thing to do. But be careful chasing those price rises, making early transfers, taking multiple hits, and using wildcards in order to get the ‘flavor of the week’ in your team.
A guy like Fábregas is going to produce over the course of the season, so getting him into your side is probably a good idea at some point. But some random player who happened to get some points over the weekend- say Eric Dier who will probably rise tonight or tomorrow, probably isn’t worth taking a hit or wasting a FT on 2 hours after the week’s matches are over (yet look at how many people have transferred him in today!).
A lot can happen in a week- guys can get injured in training, a new arrival could come in before the transfer widow is over, etc, etc, etc. So be careful using your FT early in the week because the landscape may look quite a bit differently on Friday and you may wish you had that FT back. And don’t be in too much of a hurry to dismantle the team you spent weeks researching and preparing to start the season with just because someone you didn’t buy had 1 good week.
These are just my thoughts for what they’re worth, as I’ve made hasty transfers in seasons past by focusing more on the money part of things and not being patient. Remember, this game is about getting as many points as you can, not getting the most money.
Well said Red
Thanks Horse. I finished last year with a great team value but ended up with a worse overall ranking than the season before by focusing more on making money and not being patient. I’ve heard some very good FPL players (I think it was Anti Top 4) say that they don’t even watch the price rise stuff so that it doesn’t influence their transfer strategy.
RedVT. It’s funny how easy it is to get caught up in the hear and now and think that if you don’t make a transfer tonight you won’t get another chance but of course the landscape changes each day.
By Friday it will be totally different from now especially with the transfer window still being open.
Haha, exactly Horse! And I’m very guilty of that myself, patience does not come naturally to me. But in watching how some of the really good FPL players around here operate, making a transfer BEFORE the press conferences on Friday is pretty rare. Early moves can trip you up and cost you points for additional transfers, or force you to play a bench player instead of a premium player because of injury, etc.
Keep an eye out for Victor Moses at stoke, 5.5 mil.
Total FPL is just sending me into a panic
58 all draw in my Banterbury Qualification League :/
Was leading by 3 before the Che v Burnley game, but I had Luis and Costa(C), and he had Fab and Costa. Thought I had the win!!
79 points, very happy with that start!
Need to get rid of davies for a 4.5 def… thinking amat. Is he nailed on for swansea?
Already have Chester, Collochini, and Rio. Think the Villa boys are only good for another 2 weeks.
Definitely not. They’ve just signed Federico Fernandez.
Taylor is your best bet at Swansea.
